Her wallet was left behind at the scene.

This crime is going to end up being about way more than some rando wanting to steal 300 bucks out of an ATM.

I think it was simply her personal items remained in the house and she is missing. And possibly the door was left open but we don't know this.

I'm not sure there is anything beyond this, but it suggests its what they are attributing to as out of the ordinary.

If there was more evidence of something such as a struggle, I don't think her comments, if true, would have been framed like this

I also can't imagine a robber robs a house and comes across an elderly lady in the house and takes her with when they leave. You'd think they'd either harm her on site or just run off. If it was a kidnapping for money, I would think there'd be a ransom call or note by now. Maybe there has been and that hasn't been made public.

I think there well may be. a note and things are happening behind the scenes. No one takes an 84 year old woman for no reason.

We're assuming that they were looking around the house for her, but maybe they were looking around the house for a very specific piece of something that's important to the investigation. Perhaps something was seen on a camera. And so they had to go and see if anything was left behind. IMO only

Removing her from the home had to be so insanely difficult in any circumstance (moving an elderly but with it woman against her will or a dead body) that I have to think this wasn’t planned but maybe a fight over money that got out of hand. Botched robbery seems so unlikely given the location and private vibes you get from that community.

“There were a lot of dark vans with blacked out windows,” Morgan Brown, who lives “a quarter of a mile up the street” from Nancy, told Us Weeklyexclusively. “There were a lot of cop cars there at first, and then it was vans, so I assumed that maybe they came across something.”

According to Brown, those living in the neighborhood are being told to “look at our Ring cameras to see if anything popped up out of the ordinary.” He claimed that authorities are “narrowing it down” to some time between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. local time on Sunday morning. (Nancy was last seen on Saturday, January 31.)

“I don’t know how they know that,” Brown continued. “My Ring cameras don’t face the street, but I went through them and haven’t heard that anyone found anything.”

I just really don't get the whole taking her from her home thing. If it was a robbery and she interrupted, they could tie her up/restrain her and finish what they came for or take her to try to get her to go to ATMs, or kill her and leave her body there. If it were for ransom I would have expected a ransom demand by now so I am sort of ruling that out. If they took her to try to get more money from her via bank or credit cards, why not just let her go somewhere, drop her off on a random street corner?

I am really worried she has met her end and that her body has been hidden God only knows where

Possibly taken because person panicked or thought it would decrease evidence? There was a handyman who killed a lady in nyc and put her in a suitcase and tried leaving walking the suitcase down the sidewalk

Oh how scary for her Crime is awful at any age, but how terribly sad that she makes it through life to her wonderful elderly age and then appears to have some sort of crime committed against her.

I don't get asking the neighbors to check their ring cams unless they're thinking that they're going to find something around their houses because in that area ring cams don't show the street they just show what's around the property.

Possibly just the fact she can't walk far and she didn't take medication or her personal items with her. Paired with her age, that adds up to something very concerning IMO

This reminded me of a case of an elderly couple here in Ohio who were murdered by their lawn guys several years ago. An elderly man, in his late 80’s, was very friendly and talkative with the lawn guys every week.
He shared with them about an old coin collection and some sports collectibles that he kept in his home. Each week he’d pull out a wad of cash to pay and gave them each a nice tip after they mowed his lawn.

One evening the lawn guys showed up
at their back door and the couple invited them in. They tied them up, robbed them and then forced them into the backseat of their car that was parked in the garage. One of the guys drove while the other followed in his vehicle. The took them out onto a remote country road, shot them both and set fire to their car. The men were apprehended a few days later after LE reviewed video footage of the two filling up gas cans at a nearby gas station.

This is all so disturbing. Anyone who preys on the elderly thru scams and/or physical violence is the lowest of the low.

LE have confirmed this was a crime. I just don't have a feel for whether it could have been 1) a person known to her (drugs involved?) who tricked her into opening the door (possibly knew her schedule) and then might have had a plan to kidnap her for money or try to take her to an atm, or 2) a complete stranger who just happened randomly by her house or 3) a stranger who perhaps was running a scam on her somehow and took it to the next level.*

No matter WHO did this it seems something very bad has happened to a very kind, senior citizen and i hope swift and exacting justice finds this animal. LE seems to be doing excellent work.

*I knew a woman who was very sharp who was taken in by a scam and was on the phone with them and drove to my mom's house and passed her a note while still on the phone. She knew something was wrong and she needed help but was too scared to hang up. (she ended up being ok thanks to family and friends getting involved quickly). But very smart people can be lured by extremely nefarious individuals.

1 am to 4 am would indicate someone came to the door, had a key or broke in (I.e. wasn’t sitting in a closet for 5 hours once she got home). Broke in seems so unlikely given how fancy the house was and how set back the house is. So, again, this leads me to came to the door or had a key. Inside job.

The time makes me think someone young and in need of fast cash. Prob for drugs.

IMO a time period when activity drops, less witnesses and unusual movements stands out. This is probably the time of the suspect (s) movements they are prioritizing and hoping neighborhood cameras picked up something, someone saw something, etc. I think it’s likely, sadly, she was already gone. IMO
