I found a route on Google maps that would take 8 minutes (there are also shorter routes) avoiding the main road and just crossing Campbell, rather than driving on it at any point, to reach the reported area of this camera. It goes through all the side streets where it appears from Google satellite view to be pretty low house density with lots of open areas.

The route: Escalante, Zorella, Mina Vista, La Brinca (crosses Campbell here), Piedra Seca, Juan Paisano, Real (road where camera is).

This route would take 8 minutes according to Maps. 236-8=228. So the timeline fits almost perfectly.

It seems at first an odd route, until you realize that so many of these side streets end up back at Campbell, and I am operating under the assumption that the perp(s) would want to avoid that main road in this immediate vicinity.

It's one thing to be "caught" on camera on East River Rd at 240-245 along with hundreds of other cars, but you wouldn't want to be caught on Campbell right in Nancy's neighborhood at 2:30 or 2:32 or whatever, so it would stand to reason you would go out of your way to avoid the main roads until you were far enough away.

The route I suggested above also crosses Campbell in a place that looks from Google Maps to be quite empty/remote in terms of anyone seeing. No traffic light, thus no possibility of a traffic camera being there. Check out the intersection of Campbell and Camina Brinca. Nobody will see a thing. There's also basically nothing for most of this route on Piedra Seca.

Also, looking at the longer version of the video, it seems that a car only goes by this camera on Camino Real about once an hour or so. This is crucial, IMO.

Between 00:30 or so and 2:36 it's just this one car, heading south, exactly 8 minutes away from Nancy's house. Then nothing else for more than another hour.

That is, at a minimum, one heck of a coincidence.

Finally, one of the locals in the article mentions Escuela as potentially even better than Real for avoiding detection. IMO, by the time the perps were on Real (in the scenario I laid out above) judging by Google Maps the benefits of Escuela are about the same as Real. Plus Real is a straighter shot to East River Rd and being out of there.

It COULD also mean that by taking Real and not Escuela they intended to head East on East River Rd OR turned East onto additional connecting backroads someplace between Real and East River.
the force is strong with this one

If the motive is financial and the ransom demand now clearly a bust, and Nancy is still alive, and the perp is as intelligent as it seems (sometimes), then why not:

1) have mom or dad or spouse or child setup an interest bearing trust
2) confess to them
3) they turn him in
4) they return Nancy
5) collect 1.1 million
6) serve 15 years
7) retire

This is a big reason I no longer think she is still alive, because surely if he tried to scam 6 million dollars from them he'd also try to scam 1.1 million that would probably be worth 6 million in 15 years, no? And heck, if she was still alive he'd probably get a plea deal for half of that if he plead guilty and filled in the details. So what's to lose?

Personally, I'd rather spend 7-15 in jail than 7-15 always looking over my shoulder.

I like #4- the return of Nancy. I'm just not convinced it is about the money even though I believe the ransom notes to be real. IMO if you want the money, you avoid the media and LE. How is that end expected when you do the opposite?

BBM from article

A online gambling site is taking bets on NGs kidnapper arrest date. Not a lot of humanity here.

"Over $188,000 has been staked on the outcome so far - almost double the $100,000 FBI reward being offered for information in the search for the elderly mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie. "

I disagree, as perp never provided proof of life....not once

He provided proof of something that got their attention enough to thrice coordinate a plead for her return until the deadline passed. We don't know what that was.

I posit that he perhaps did leave a ransom demand on scene but they didn't publicly acknowledge it, and since they didn't take it seriously he forced them to by going to the media. Remember, it was the Sheriff who controlled the narrative the first couple of days. It wasn't until the FBI came onboard that they started taking that angle seriously. Sheriff had tunnel vision if we take AB's 'unimpeachable' inside source at face value.

This is beyond sick. Although, rather optimistic, betting that the kidnapper will be found by February 28th.

IMO If he doesn't release or disclose Nancy's location before being caught, he should face a more severe penalty than if he released her now or disclosed where to find her. Families not knowing what happened to their loved one suffer in a different way than families that get closure/answers. This limbo must be excruciating for the family and deserves a harsher punishment. I think the family might even ask for leniency if the person returned Nancy now. JMO

What is wrong with people? Gambling on this is totally sick. I get annoyed when a website splits up a 2 minute story related to Nancy with 3 long commercials. I think that is tacky as well.

I missed the part about driving by 50-100 times. Can you let me know where that came from? TIA!
My guess is it's someone who heard about the case and wanted to see what was going on. So they smoked a joint and thought they would just drive by without being too obvious. I think there's a lot of that kind of thing going around.
It was from Brian Entin’s latest report linked to in this post:

If this person is caught, they will spend the balance of their life in prison. JMO

New Brian Entin video-

Posted earlier that the vehicle on the Fox video looked like a silver Kia Soul and now I'm about 95% confident that's what it is. Could also be white I suppose.

This scenario is very convincing, yet it puzzles me because I thought LE would already have analyzed cameras covering all the possible exits from the crime. I hope other people have saved footage for LE even if they didn't ask for it.

Watching Entin and he stated that there are rumors SG might be heading back to NY soon. If that is true it would seemingly rule out the 'deranged fan lashing out angle', because it follows that her continued presence would be paramount to any seriously mentally ill fan returning NG (alive or deceased).

IMO.

A map showing possible routes IF the latest video is significant. Camino Real is not a high traffic road, it is considered a residential connector. The timing is interesting. Certainly worth investigating. N Camino Real would take the vehicle directly south to East River Road; a high VPD traffic thoroughfare.
EBM for a typo

Respectfully, I don't think the odds were very high for her NOT to be there. A medically frail 84 year old is very unlikely to be out and about at 1:45am. If they cased her house at all, they would have known she would be home and likely asleep.
Yes of course, I wasn’t meaning that NG was out and about at 84, but comparing her to my elderly mother, who sometimes will stay over with her relatives, and still enjoys vacations and short trips away with friends and family.

I referenced the hacker of valve
What's the word in Tucson? Is there any local information that might be helpful?

As someone else here already posted, the camera taking the video is likely infrared, so - just as with the video of the perpetrator on NG’s doorstep - colors appear different than they actually are.

Thank you for sharing.

It makes sense to me, I’m not surprised that he’d try to muddle his path and take a less obvious route out of the neighborhood. Even if it took him to a majorly trafficked road eventually, it’s less obvious that he was coming from NG’s house if he tries to muddle and mix up his route like that.

The new surveillance video is interesting. Will breathe some life back into this case IMO. Could be coincidental but there's enough there for LE to look more into.
