where are people watching the presser..want to get set.
Speaking of pressers, sometimes we expect too much from them.
i think that will be the case today with the build up

I am going back to wondering about Nancy herself and the possible grudge. Someone who hates Nancy for some (probably crazy) reason, from a long time ago. So the family have a clue who it could be, but no idea where they would have gone etc.

I can't find it now, and maybe I imagined it, but I'm sure in the beginning of all this someone in LE mentioned something about it could be an old grudge. Maybe it was Sheriff in the presser? Does anyone else remember this or did I imagine it?

I'm just wondering if 'we are ready to talk' from the family video could be appealing to that person, and could be in relation to something specific.

Prob clutching at straws.

I thought the same thing too. I was a bit taken aback when SG started talking about hearing reports of ransom notes. It did not seem to be the focus of the video. I understand wanting to humanize NG but it just struck me as odd the way ransom was inserted in there. It almost felt to me like SG did not believe in the validity of the ransom notes but had to address it just in case. Just my view.of the demand.
Just a thought....A ransom note puts pressure to produce the ransom on the family, LE, etc. By insinuating the ransom note may not be legit, it sort of turns the tables and puts pressure on the kidnapper(s) to produce proof of life and the legitimacy of the demand.

Another thought about getting NG out of her home.....other than force, is there another scenario that would cause her to leave voluntarily and quickly with someone she knew, without personally taking her belongings? Example...someone's been horribly hurt - we have to get to the hospital - they sent me to get you - lets get you in the car first - i'll get your phone, cane, etc - don't worry - oh sorry I hit your nose and caused it to bleed.

SG, as far as I know, has never indicated personal political views.

Please cite a source.
Here you go. Let me preface by saying a journalist can be targeted for simply reporting on something that others want covered up. Professional journalists do not insert their political opinions in their reporting, and I did not allege Savannah does so. But fact-based coverage is often portrayed as partisan now. Continuous allegations of 'fake news' for fact-based reporting over the past decade has made all journalists vulnerable, in my opinion.

I'll give you an example of reporting on criminality that has political repercussions: Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking network. Savannah Guthrie's exclusive interviews with survivors following Epstein's arrest in July 2019 put faces to the child trafficking charges. Savannah interviewed a previously unknown victim shortly after the arrest. The survivor told about being recruited outside her high school when she was 14 and visiting Epstein's townhouse weekly. She talked about Epstein raping her when she was 15. She never went back to his townhouse, and she stopped attending school because it was nearby.

In Sept. 2019, the month after Epstein died in federal custody, Savannah had an exclusive with 6 survivors. It was the first time Virginia Roberts Guiffre spoke on TV about being raped by Prince Andrew and other powerful men.

A reporter does not need to disclose personal political views for reporting to have major political ramifications. This topic involves coverup of organized child predation and abuse by very powerful people, the kind of story that has always put journalists at risk. The historical risk of exposing wrongdoing is compounded IMO because facts are treated as biased; political leaders encourage the public to view journalists and neighbors with differing views as enemies of the state; and officials gaslight the public to discount what is documented on videos and by eyewitnesses. 10 years ago the concept of "alternative facts" was met with derision. Now, it's normalized. IMO. Journalists are at great risk simply for reporting.

Savannah's husband Michael Feldman has been a political operative. He worked for Democratic Senate leadership as an analyst, then in the Clinton White House for 8 years. He played a prominent role on Gore's presidential campaign. Feldman and several other Democratic consultants from Gore's campaign, including former Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart, founded a consulting firm in Washington, DC the following year.

Nancy Guthrie could be targeted for her political opinions. Her FB page is still up. Anyone on FB can see what her views are on on foreign policy, immigration, and justice. It doesn't take a famous daughter for someone to become a target. It only takes an individual conditioned to believe anyone with views different than their own is the enemy who must be vanquished. That's what makes stochastic terrorism insidious IMO. It creates the climate where isolated individuals act in unpredictable ways to produce chaos. Specific criminal acts can't be anticipated; lone actors with no connection to the victim are difficult to identify.

None of us knows why Nancy was abducted. Everything is speculation. Is it possible she was targeted for political reasons? It's less likely than other scenarios but it certainly must be considered in the current climate.

All MOO and in response to your request for sources.

I'm firmly on the fence. But, I agree with this; based on what we know right now, a reasonable argument could be made for either family involvement or stranger involvement.
I think that they checked out the house and grounds looking for Nancy before they called the police....big house and large lot. That would take some time.

then WHY send the ransom note to TMZ if they wanted secrecy?!

Asking TMZ to keep a secret is like asking Sheriff Nanos to speak clearly.

Not entirely caught up and will be watching the presser in a few assuming it's still on, but I really, truly, don't feel like this is a ransom situation. Whether they receive POL today will be very telling.

That being said, unless something new comes out of this presser, I've lost hope NG is alive still. They seem to have no leads. Also, this video put out by the family mentions "hearing" of a ransom note, not necessarily having been privy to it.

As I said, a reasonable argument can be made for both sides.

Although, if her cane and her walker were in the home and she was only able to walk 50 yards with an assistive device, it seems unlikely that they would have spent too much time looking around the expansive property.

They talk more about the letter they received. The letter described certain characteristics about an item (s). They say the items mentioned are correct according to the information they have and it may mean they do have Nancy.

It also said 'not to talk', which is not what the family did. Interesting.

Harvey said it's odd that they emailed it 3 days after she was abducted. (but I would counter that argument with, because no one else was responding to them IMO)

Looming deadline. 2 deadlines.

"No talk"? That doesn't sound like an English as first language person wrote that! Could they have taken her to Mexico? Or is it the same person who is my rich uncle in Haiti?

If abducted via vehicle, why wouldn’t they have left tire tracks from Nancy’s driveway (which looks to be decomposed granite or something like that)?

Post I got this info from
  • Any tire tracks or footprints found around the house? "No," Nanos said.

I may be reading too much in to this, but I find it curious that Craig Melvin (SG's co-host) will not be going to Milan to cover the Olympics. The most realistic assumption is that he is staying stateside in solidarity with SG... but that seems odd to me. There has been no mention as to why he's staying, just they they had to shuffle things around. Does he feel unsafe or concerned for people in his circle?
Possibly he feels he wants to stay close to his family, but I think it is more likely that the network wants to have one of the show's co-hosts remain on the daily show to keep thing stable for their viewing audience, especially if they are the two main co-hosts and are on the show daily. I don't know if that is the case, but if so, then that would make sense to me.

I think it's possible the ransom note was initially sent to LE, but was dismissed as a hoax and ignored. So they sent it to TMZ and the other news sites in order to get a reaction.

My speculation-- that LE/family got a ransom note first. But the ransomer got impatient, didn't know if it was received.

Hoping we hear words from the podium like "disappearance" and "involuntarily missing" in this upcoming presser.

Not "abducted" or "kidnapped" or "taken from her bed."

Because....of course they knew the opposite would happen. and if that turns out to be a hoax oy vey....

Could be. LE definitely wouldnt want to let that cat out of the bag and possibly inspire similar randsoms.
