I am very uncomfortable with rhetoric that subliminally blames SG for some perceived slights over an interview with DJT.

I understand that right now all we can do is speculate. But I refuse to entertain that SG has done anything that would inadvertently inspire some wack job to kidnap her mother as some kind of retaliatory act.

Let’s please remember that SG is a victim.

harm has been done to people in the past because of family members actions/beliefs so this is nothing new.

no one is directly blaming SG for NG's disappearance. and never did i day i thought it was because or ONE interview. i've said for years i thought SG was a rude interviewer.... IN MY OPINION.

This phone call to Annie is a bit odd. If this friend from church was concerned enough over NG not in attendance, why didn't he/she go over to the house themselves? It seems to me that this person who had Annie's phone number must also be quite a good friend.

Had they gone to NG's home, they would have seen the blood outside the front door and called the police themselves.

Maybe it's nothing, but it seems a bit odd in an already odd case.

There is a DM article stating that NG didn't actually attend church since the COVID era but she did watch services from home.

I’m wondering if LE has checked with the power company for a list of all new electrical services for the last 60 days and in a 5-mile radius.

I can only think of one recent case where politics played a part in a murder.

The female judge who had ruled on a case many years ago was targeted at her home. The perp came to the front door and killed her son and injured her husband. He meant to kill her. I’m sorry I don’t recall her name but she did speak about it with various networks.

I get what you're saying but by not opening with who they were playing to, the "abductor", it felt like a long love letter to their mother and a poetry reading by AG.

To me the urgency of her missing and their willingness to negotiate was not center stage which was the purpose.
I gather the"abductor" already knows all about how NG is loved by all and her wonderful qualities from the media.

I believe the willingness to negotiate coming later is intentional. You're setting the emotional hook, and the demand lands with much more weight as a result.

While the abductor likely knows she’s loved, hearing it directly from her family and not the media personalizes it. That’s very different psychologically than news headlines

Open with the demand and you risk them shutting down, and not being receptive to the message.

This is what I'm thinking, and because the perpetrator(s) didn't get media attention right away regarding the note, they took it upon themselves to submit the note to TMZ and news organizations.

This is what I have been thinking too. I mean SG is a “celebrity”. Granted she is certainly not an A lister, but she is a news anchor for a national broadcast. The TODAY show is on TVs across America everyday. TMZ is exactly who I would send a ransom note to in this case if I wanted it public and the attention it came with. That’s the scary part to me, if the ransom note is legit, this person wants attention. Riddler type stuff.

I think we can put to rest that BIL is a suspect, especially after the video the 3 siblings released yesterday addressing the ransom and saying, "We are ready to talk."

Asking challenging questions, pressing for clarity, and holding people accountable is a journalist’s job. It doesn’t mean they’re expressing personal political beliefs. SG has never publicly stated her own political views, and no source has been cited showing otherwise.

Inferring ideology from how someone does their job (or from watching a morning show) isn’t the same as evidence. And while anything is theoretically possible, there’s nothing in the facts we have so far that points to this being politically motivated. Jumping there feels unfair to her.

*sigh* and like i said in one of my comments... it was MY immediate THOUGHT when i heard of NG being missing. MY opinion.. i've seen dozens of people's OPINION posts... yet they are getting lambasted for their OPINIONS.

There has been talk of her camera not keeping more than x amount of hours, if a plan wasn't purchased. That's a little misleading because it is not straight time. It is event time. That means it would have to be triggered and record more than (3,8,however many) hours. That is actually a lot of footage. It would likely go back months. I have Eufy and I don't pay a plan. I can go back several months and still see the neighbors truck pull out the driveway Point being, if the cameras were working/ charged, they can easily get the footage.

How credible is the Daily Mail who reported that NG didn’t go to church in person post-Covid? Because that would throw everything the daughter said about the call into question IMHO. But I can’t see why the daughter would lie about that call. But if NG hasn’t gone to church in years in person, I do not believe that call came to the daughter that quickly.

If I knew an older person who regularly watched church on Zoom and they weren’t there one day, my immediate assumption would be internet or computer issues, not
something urgent enough to call family that morning.

The Guthrie sibling video will smoke out if there is legitimacy to the media ransom notes. "Kidnappers" will need to reach out again and actually show proof of life. If there is nothing then LE can focus on other things. JMO.

I am just hoping in so I don't know if this was posted about previously but is it unusual that border patrol is involved in this investigation?

I believe it was stated they were involved because they have useful resources (the dogs maybe?) and not because they necessarily think she was taken to Mexico.

I'm wondering if this friend didn't want to go to NG's house themselves because they didn't want to offend NG. You know, since she's elderly, it would definitely be concerning if NG broke routine. But a lot of times the elderly don't appreciate being "checked on" when breaking routine when, say, if a person 20 years younger did a similar action it would not raise alarm bells. Does that make sense? Maybe that's why the friend chose to phone the daughter, instead. I've had my mom's friends call me for that same reason, out of concern, because they felt awkward talking directly to my mom. My mom is 77. Circumstances are a tad different because Mom has cognitive decline, but I think the premise is the same (not wanting to offend NG).

And possibly they tried calling NG first and got no answer? so then called AG?

The 911 call said "didn't show up for" church services. I would be surprised if she didn't actually go in person to church.
