AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

A quick google search says she actually did not have a dog. The dog from the missing persons flyer photo is a relatives dog.
I don't know how many times this has to be said. The dog questions are killing me.

Any thoughts about a kidnapper that gives two timelines for meeting demands?

Yes.

Mouth-breather in a basement pounding back bags of Doritos with a mom yelling at him to go get a job.

Anyone else think the FBI guy revealed that fact about the 5pm deadline by mistake?!

Sorry if someone already said this, I was typing and am now twenty pages behind!

Sheriff just said "software detected" and they are not aware of which camera it came from, multiple cameras are involved.
Thank you so much

I thought we knew the Apple watch info before the first ransom note?

We don't know when the 1st letter was sent. It could have been before any details were made public...

Sounds like the ransom letter was compelling but not definitive.

Key Takeaways from Thursday Press Conference [UPDATING IN REAL TIME]

• Believes Nancy is still out there. Wants her home. (Says "out there" doesn't use words "alive") Later follows up saying no hard proof of life.
• Brought in PIMA regional critical incident team (Many of them seen yesterday)
• States "still has so much in front of us"
• Blood on front porch confirmed to be from Nancy. Other initially collected DNA gave minimal results.
• No suspects or POI identified at this time.

Announced a timeline:
5:32 PM Nancy travels to AGs house for dinner.
9:48 PM Nancy dropped off at home (time verified by garage door data).
1:47 AM Doorbell camera disconnects
2:12 AM Software detects person on camera but no video available (no subscription so video overwrote itself) (possible it could be an animal but cannot confirm due to lack of video)
2:28 AM Nancy's pacemaker is out of range from her phone
11:56 AM Family checks on Nancy discovers her missing
12:03 PM 911 is called.

• Denying/ Not confirming that any cameras on the property were smashed. (Confirmed that one of the cameras have not been located)
• Denying/ Not confirming forced entry found in residence
• Spoke to Uber Driver because she was taken to AGs for dinner via Uber

FBI announced $50,000 reward for info leading to an arrest/suspect.
FBI has arrested one person for an imposter random
The one of the ransoms mentioned an apple watch and a floodlight.

The ransom sent to TMZ, KOLD, KGUN were the same note. No proof of life within ransom they are investigating. No contact with the person who sent the ransom sent to media
For anyone who missed the press conference. I have a summary here

With this massive team of experts being involved, I have to say I'm mind boggled that they appear (seemingly) to have no leads leading to a resolution. Who the heck kidnapped Nancy? And why?? This was no amateur.

9:48 pm to 9:50 pm seems quite fast to me, if you are talking about getting an elderly woman into a large house.

total amateur and/or it's fake. i've never heard of that before. it's like saying you'll give someone to the count of three but when you get to one and they still haven't complied you go ok let's try this again from 10, 9, 8, etc

"My guess is as good as yours."
🤔

That's really not very helpful; imo.
Seems like it invites more speculation which is not needed at this time.
Although maybe, "We don't know at this time." might sound more professional ?
Just pointing that out.

Now Sheriff stating "family member" took Nancy home. Wouldn't name specific name(s).
Until an arrest is made i think LE will stay vague and general. Was there anything mentioned or asked about danger to the public? I think what is not answered often gives more information than what is at this point. Im sure all of the people in here suspect that too. I think a presser just gives media something to discuss when LE is working behind the scenes. I wonder how much of this if any, will take over conversations of the Olympic announcers. Moo

L-O-S-E-R.
H-O-A-X.

There is no "kidnapper."

I adore you thank you for this 🤣

Emphasis mine.
So she was picked up to go to the daughters' house via Uber, but dropped off by family ?
That means the last person to see Nancy alive was family, and not the Uber driver; if I'm understanding this correctly ?
Jmo-- What an odd statement in the bolded.
Imo.
They asked if it was her daughter or SIL that dropped NG back at home, and declined to specify. "family, we'll just go with that"

ETA - IMO he wouldn't specify because there was so much speculation about the SIL he didn't want that to turn into a focus.

Kind of crazy that the birdhouse camera I bought my parents has more included storage than a Nest camera. I guess they really want people to pay for the subscription?

My FIL is 85 and super tech savvy and with it. He would NEVER let us drive him around and he Ubers all the time. He’s very proud and a bit feisty. I don’t think you can judge any child’s relationship with their elderly relatives - NG isn’t AG’s child.
Also, she may have been coming from somewhere else besides her house. We don't know where the Uber ride originated. Maybe she had been at someone else's house or at a church activity or something. Who knows. It doesn't seem too odd to me. 5:32 pm would still be daylight too.

Neither of those guys inspires any confidence. “My guess is as good as yours” is terrifying. If I were SG, I’d call in some private investigative support to at least try to manage this mess.
