Boy Nanos leaves a lot to "monday morning quarterbacking" and admits crime scene should have been left in tact. There was another mistake made he admitted to earlier in not bringing in the help that has now arrived. He is definitely not ruling out SIL.
Timeline indicates only 5 minutes after family arrived on Sunday did they call NOT ONE HOUR . That is +++new info+++. Very hard when Sheriff does not repeat the question. Nanos is doing better with the help of FBI and structure.

Anyone else think the FBI guy revealed that fact about the 5pm deadline by mistake?!

Sorry if someone already said this, I was typing and am now twenty pages behind!
Didn't act like it. Mentioned it a couple of times.

This may be a dumb question, but what does it mean by doorbell cam goes offline? Is that the point it was disconnected from wall? If so, how did it detect motion at 2:12?

I feel like the FBI advises them, but is also clear to say that any actions taken are up to the family. Basically the FBI is going to distance themselves and act hands off rather than the FBI convey they are in the business of giving in to kidnapper demands. This way they can say, "oh we leave that up to the family. It's up to them."

IMO that was for the benefit of the ransomer. Giving the impression the ransomer needs to deal with the family directly (as if the FBI will be off doing other things when we know they are hot on this).

Fam called 911 minutes after arriving, not an hour later. Big difference and makes a lot more sense.

Not unreasonable. Elderly woman, misses normally attended church service, not a home, needs meds and they left behind. It would be reasonable to call LE.

Two ransom deadlines. Days apart. Ransom note indicates knowledge of Nancy and her home. Details no one else would know.

IMO the perp thinks they are smarter than everyone else, and the ransom letter writer is the perp, and they are trying to make it look like a kidnapping for ransom, when most probably it was SA, and the kidnapping ruse is a cover-up, because the perp felt remorse after his crime, and can't get caught because it will cause him further shame and embarrassment. Kind of a "Hey look over there, not here" type scenario.

They asked if it was her daughter or SIL that dropped NG back at home, and declined to specify. "family, we'll just go with that"
Maybe, the daughter was cleaning up after dinner (which would be normal in our household). Why they leave this unanswered just leads to all sorts of speculation...IMO.

The Monday deadline seemed more like a slip considering he was so insistent about not revealing the second deadline earlier in the PC and then he just let's rip with it.

Did anyone ask (again) if the public was in danger? Because much of this seems like a real criminal (esp. messing with the Nest) but I get the sense they don’t think there is some criminal running amok.

You know, I found it oddly satisfying to hear the Sheriff carefully go through each of Ashleigh Banfield's claims about the supposed prime suspect and the specific state of the crime scene, and shoot each and every one of them down in flames.

Releasing the crime scene so quickly was a huge mistake. The sheriff even said as much and when asked about contamination said "that will be for the courts to decide." That could be big down the line.

What is the deal with this whole church issue? She was supposed to go to church and didn't show? And someone called Annie and told her "hey your mom didn't show up to church"?

But then it was revealed she only goes to online church which is anonymous? Who lied about what? That's probably your suspect/kidnapper/killer

Neither of those guys inspires any confidence. “My guess is as good as yours” is terrifying. If I were SG, I’d call in some private investigative support to at least try to manage this mess.
Hundreds of murders go unsolved and it’s not for a lack of effort on LE. They only have so much to go on.

Yes.

Mouth-breather in a basement pounding back bags of Doritos with a mom yelling at him to go get a job.

"Kidnapper."

JMO.
you forgot the cases of Mountain Dew to wash down the Doritos ;)

Indeed !
Like they can't figure out the IP addy of the sender.
Hope for a big break in this tragic case soon !!
Imo.

There are many VPN services out there, especially international ones, who don't cooperate with law enforcement or subpoenas.

There may be some type of log, like with Zoom.

I didn't hear it that way. I heard he was being really careful to not rule anyone out. And that everyone is still a suspect. If he wanted to shoot it down he could have said "no one in the family is a suspect"

Any thoughts about a kidnapper that gives two timelines for meeting demands?
One who is hoping they don’t have to follow through on their threats associated with the second deadline?
