Sure. Explain why the camera destruction timeline exonerates the SIL?
He would know how many there are and where and either avoid them or break them one after another, within a minute or so. Even without much pre-planning that gap in the timeline is too big for me.

Perhaps this has already been discussed and dismissed, I only caught part of the news conference today with the sheriff and FBI & my ears perked up when I just learned NG took an Uber to her daughter’s house that evening. That could lead to something, maybe JMO
sheriff did mention they've located the driver and made contact but didn't really say more. totally just my personal opinion but he didn't seem to "give anything away" with his words or body language so i'm kind of thinking there's nothing there. but you never know.

Just saw a video that mentioned they had a dog on the property yesterday...which they mentioned "cadaver" and I just had a thought. Are scent hounds no longer used to try and track a missing person? 🤔

Honestly, I can't imagine someone kidnapping a senior citizen with heart issues over their adult child's political views. Anger over politics seems to inspire more direct violent action. Against the specific person with those views, rather than someone they love. To me, kidnapping is generally for money or control. Prevent someone from doing something, make someone do something, or to get money from them. JMO
Another thought is did N know something unfavorable about someone and was going to share it? Maybe someone didn’t want to let that happen.

If the Uber driver was a suspect, Uber driver would not even have been mentioned in the PC, imo

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos did not know the Guthrie family was going to post an emotional plea for their mother to be returned on social media last night, he said.

In the video, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings tearfully asked for proof that their mother was alive.

Nanos told CNN his wife showed him the video for the first time after it was posted last night.

The Guthrie family is “devastated,” the sheriff said, adding he has “opened the door for them to contact me anytime.” Nanos said he has not met Savannah Guthrie in person, but they have texted each other.

“Anybody who watches that video, I don’t know how they can sit there and not say, ‘My goodness, we need to get this lady back,’” Nanos said

There is plenty.

- Her husband was the last person to see NG at the home (possibly with AG in the car)
- AG received the call that mom didn’t go to church, but mom might have attended virtually
- AG went to the house and took an hour to call police, despite blood being in the house and the camera being gone
- As someone else pointed out, AG read that statement like a eulogy

I also don’t think a 30-40 YO man would call it “bitcoin”. That sounds like something a 50+-YO woman or offshore scammer would use. And I don’t think an offshore scammer would have the means to kidnap NG.

According to this new timeline, we've all been mistaken about how long AG and her husband were at the house before calling 911. This indicates they were there only for moments. Based on that, it appears they also immediately felt something was wrong.

Many times people that commit crimes like this are given way to much credit for their thinking and planning. moo
Fair enough. But a 50 year old biology teacher who plays an instrument IMO has the intellectual capabilities to do at least this bit of planning.

"“We have nobody of interest, or anybody you would consider a prime suspect,” Nanos said. “We are just not there yet.” He added that no one has been ruled out as a suspect, either."

Reading between the lines, they do have suspect(s) - just not a prime suspect but they are chasing down leads and will be there shortly. I expect some news/arrest (other than the fake ransom guy) in the next few days. They are just doing their due diligence collecting evidence and digital and other forensics I presume. It is telling that they didn't rule out the SIL as a suspect even though he has been openly accused by Banfield.

Banfield is a legitimate reporter with a large audience who understands the stakes here. And yet here she is still tripling down on SIL. And here are the police not yet clearing him and dancing around questions that are directly related to Banfield’s report. The longer this goes on and no walk back from Banfield, it’s becoming extremely likely she had it nailed. I’ll eat my crow if I’m wrong you can rub my nose in it, but right now it’s looking like 90% chance SIL is our perp.

I doubt that the SIL would risk it all. There may be another situation: what if he sold the information about the victim to someone? "Do whatever you want, I am not involved afterwards."

I wonder if he got some money before NG disappeared.

Nancy Grace often gets things wrong. She is on now talking about INSIDE CAMERAS that were discussed in the presser. I believe only cameras are at the doors outside correct? She also is stating they have missed today's deadline of 5pm when it is only 3:35pm in Tucson. She is a real loony. Did I miss something about inside cameras or any Nancy Grace calls them "nannycams"

I agree. One could also hypothesize that there are several suspects because more than one person was involved.

There would have to be initial money to give him, in this plot to get money out of NG's disappearence.

when you look at motive a big inheritance from NG has to have family looked at very closely. Obviously SG and husband do not need the money, Camron in another state and you are left with Annie and husband.

Well that's enough to have me stymied. One would think there would be more coordination in that regard, considering what's at stake. I suppose SG has the resources to assemble a solid forensic team to run a parallel investigation/strategy, and that they (understandably) felt that it is better to be safe than sorry, but that the sheriff didn't know they were doing it is a bit concerning overall.

I still think the arrest of the California guy could signal the beginnings of a break in the case, but perhaps that's just false hope.

JMO.

Its not that i dont think she is capable, its just that she is 10 minutes away. I would have picked her up.
Apologies if I missed it, but do we know she definitely used Uber from her home to Annie's home? Or, could she have Ubered directly to the restaurant?

Someone who is familiar with her home would know this.
Another poster mentioned the possibility of landscapers and house cleaners. This core group may have some additional rings that may need to be run down.

Ring one: The contractors themselves as well as assistants or periodic substitutes when the primary contractor cannot be there.

Ring two: Might include bad news husbands, boyfriends or brothers of a contractor who may of been told in passing something like: Hey, ever watch the Today show? Guess what? I do her mother's house on Thursdays, She is so nice. Wheels start turning in wrong directions.

Ring Three: Bad news type people from areas where the contractors live who might have heard something from somebody. In the age of "Any Who" net based people finding sites and competitors, it might not take much computer talent for "Meth Mike" to confirm fragmented "Heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend" information and hatch a plan.

FWIW... I went back to the first few pages of this thread and the first mention of the apple watch was Monday around 1pm Arizona local time, and then not talked about again until hours later.

I think I started reading here Monday night/Tuesday morning, and all the posts about the watch, I couldn't figure out if she left with or without it or if it was all speculation.

No idea when the Media ransom note was sent, but it's been suggested 'Monday morning'.

TMZ made a point of correcting their first statement, that the note said something about what she was wearing and it actually said something she was NOT wearing. (if that is in regards to the watch? who knows)

The FBI guy said something about Ransomware. And the note was in Ransomware format. I had to do some searching. This is typically used to hold data/computer systems 'hostage' until a ransom is paid. It pops up with information on what and how to do it, but I don't know how Ransomware would be used in real life kidnapping scenario? And if there is no way for the family to get proof of life, what does the family do?

The FBI did answer a question about the bitcoin addess that was in the Media ransom note, and said that they have not been able to connect it to anyone.
Thank you for going through all of that. That was my post. It will be interesting to know when the ransom letters came in and if it was before all of the photos were circulating online showing her smart watch - AZ - Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026
