I mean, supposedly the ransom note included a bitcoin wallet address. So the ransom could have been paid without any contact, and maybe that's what they wanted. It's not as if contact would have been needed in order to comply with the demand.
Any contact between the kidnapper and family would be risky as it would be likely traseable. The demand and instructions were in the ransom note. No further contact is required by kidnapper. Just do what it says and get mom back.

Yesterday I was convinced the FBI coerced or encouraged the family to film the video. We all know it was scripted heavily. But, during the presser today, the FBI guys stated at least 2-3 times how the video was "the family's decision" with great emphasis. Is this to throw us off once again? Because I do think the FBI had a great handling with this decision and the video posted tonight. Thoughts welcome.

Good point. Would certainly be a good idea to distance themselves from the family if being obviously involved puts the Mom at more risk.

Maybe even someone who had a key or knew a numeric key code if, by chance, other entrance(s) had those types of locks. (Could have let himself/herself/themselves inside, if that is the case.)
often regular staff that work in the house (ie she probably had a cleaner) have a code to enter the house. I personally would not do that in this day and age but did when I worked. They had key. Might be some others too.

I thought the sheriff confirmed the car was towed as a part of standard operating procedure….during today’s press conference.
No, the sheriff was referring to Nancy's car:
9:30
uh the the car that was at the home uh is it's just standard investigative practices. It's part of the search warrant scene court orders. We pull it out of there and do our scene processing with the vehicle.

I'm guessing they may have assisted them and written the script for them, since they would have experts on real hostage negotiations and such.

I’m currently catching up im on page 200 out of 258 so I apologise if this has been mentioned.

For me this person HAS to be somebody who knew that ring door bell would not record - or they’ve just got EXTREMELY lucky.

I feel these door bells need to be looked at in future surely for crime purposes they need to have some sort of backup if you haven’t paid the subscription which at least lasts a few days which law enforcement can access.
They definitely got lucky, but a few years ago I had a neighbor who committed a crime and then smashed in my ring camera (I’m assuming they thought it wouldn’t have the recording if it was broken). But we had the recording and their face looking right at the camera before they broke it. Gave it to the cops and helped their case.

I think this is a typical PR statement. You don't want an abductor/criminal to blatantly know that the FBI is playing chess with them. By saying it's 100% the family's decision it makes it seem genuine that the family is willing to do anything to pay for return of victim irregardless of LE help. Albeit, at the end of the day it's the family's decision to pay a ransom or not.

Yes, seems the fbi are in control and are not sharing things with the sheriff. Sending out a video from the family seems like it would be something the sheriff should know as well.
I can't get beyond the interview with CNN where apparently he said he has not met SG.

I know this isn't funny, but I'm laughing over the stupidity of this person. His name is right in his email and everything was easily traceable. Good grief.
Thank goodness criminals are not known to be smart. ;) Evidence right here as you pointed out.

Are we sure she was actually "dropped off" at her house after being with her daughter and son in law for dinner etc? Maybe she never returned to the house at all?

I think FBI has to keep a public "we don't negotiate" with criminals stance, "but if the family wants to.....that's up to them...."

when you look at motive a big inheritance from NG has to have family looked at very closely. Obviously SG and husband do not need the money, Camron in another state and you are left with Annie and husband.
Where are you getting that NG was rich? did she end up with some big fancy high paying job that I'm not aware of? she was a housewife when her husband passed. SG is the wealthy one.....

It's pretty much 4 hours exactly between NG's garage doors opening / closing and the disconnect of the camera at the door. Is it possible the 'kidnapper' could also have entered the garage at 21:48 and did not actually leave the property until the next period of activity 01:48 onwards? If they knew there would be footage of their arrival at the house which could be incriminating in some way, and didn't want to risk disabling the camera before the 3 hours were up, just in case that footage of their arrival was not overwritten and was then stored away somewhere for retrieval? Is it possible they lay low for 3 hours, maybe a bit extra for safety, 4 hours to be certain, then removed the camera by opening the door from inside the property?

This might be too convoluted but I can't help feel there's some significance of sorts in amongst the cameras and timings.

  • Two California teenagers are facing felony charges after a violent Scottsdale home invasion where they allegedly targeted a family for $66 million in cryptocurrency.
  • The suspects, identified as Jackson Sullivan and Skylar Lapaille, reportedly posed as delivery drivers to gain entry before duct-taping and assaulting the homeowners.
  • Investigators believe the teens were extorted into the plot; police caught the pair shortly after they fled the scene in a blue Subaru.

The crime was a reported home invasion near Cactus Road and Loop 101. According to court documents, two teenagers, identified as Jackson Sullivan and Skylar Lapaille, arrived at the home dressed as package delivery drivers the morning of Jan. 31. They allegedly forced their way inside, restrained two adults with duct tape, and assaulted them.
I think these articles mean the kids arrested were extorted by others known as Red and 8. Are these related?

The teens, who are not being identified by Fox News Digital because they are both under the age of 18, allegedly posed as delivery drivers to gain access to the Scottsdale home on Jan. 31, before forcing their way inside and duct-taping and assaulting two homeowners inside.

The teenagers had met recently and were extorted by individuals known only as “Red” and “8,” court documents state. They were allegedly sent from California with $1,000 to purchase supplies for disguises, restraints and burglary tools.

I am thinking of why they would leave the sheriff out on some of the big details. I wonder if they think he leaked something whether on purpose or accidentally. AB?

Just interesting family was notified right away that she was absent from beginning of church- 11:
St Philips Tucson mass on Sunday is 10AM, so it must have been after mass that church goer contacted family that victim was a no show. Why someone would show up at 2AM to take an 84 year old women out of house to the hostility of causing her to bleed front door steps. This is not some kidnapping situation but rather someone who did not like this Senior in my opinion. I think her removal from house was to conceal evidence of crime
I noticed a lot of religiosity in the video, I hope this doesn't sound too cynical but could they think someone from the church might be involved? mOO
Could be religion related. I just find it a little weird that victim lives 4 miles from daughter and yet victim had to take Uber to meet daughter for dinner and game night. Then son in law drops off victim at home through garage which shut around 9:48pm. Victim is 84 years old with heart condition, requires a walker for mobility, is in pain per daughter, and frail. I find it strange that a church member would break in to house around 1:30am. If this were church related, why not do this after church when the victim would return home?

After four days, I feel like they had to respond to the ransom letters whether they are taking them seriously or not. Not doing so is a regret I wouldn't wish on anyone.
I think the randsom notes if real are from people close to victim

Back to basics. Why take an 84 yr old woman? The only answer is money. Guesses are anyone who had a connection to the home has been interviewed but no advertised suspects.
