AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

they will say that no matter what...same line unless they arrest him. This story is just making their investigation more difficult.
I’m always puzzled re: all the clanging MSM/YouTuber speculation in cases like these—about LE intent.

The MO and timing of searches, video production, photo taking, evidence gathering, etc. may reflect a completely different LE strategy than what appears on the surface.

(Debunked info re: timing of 911 call DBM)

I know NG does not have Dementia (or anything even close according to LE), but it's still possible one of her kids purchased it as a safery measure to be able to contact her or for her to use as an emergency alert device. All of this to say that it's really too bad she wasn't wearing it at the time of her disappearance.
This actually makes more sense since she doesn’t have dementia. A lot of (if not most) independent seniors hate the idea of wearing a Life Alert necklace. An Apple watch would feel more normal and less “old”/patronizing.

You must’ve missed where I answered your post here, and informed that NG’s church is St. Andrew’s Presbyterian. I included a link to the church. They have two Sunday services, 9:00 contemporary, and 10:45 traditional.

I did miss it. Thank you for responding! I hadn’t seen anything on St Philip’s.

[The most troubling thing of many troubling things for me—the hour it supposedly took to make the 911 call.]

Actually that was corrected at the latest pressor, was only a few min if I recall correctly.

The kidnappings for ransom that people are mentioning are from 40 or more years ago. Nothing recent in the US. With modern technology much easier to track people. But now we have this (if it is a kidnapping).

Yes. I'm pretty sure NG wasn't using it to check her emails or stream music!
As another example, my former boss got her young daughter an Apple watch because she didn't want her to have a cell phone just yet, but wanted a way to be able to contact her on a moment's notice.

Then I’m pleased to tell you that was debunked in today’s presser. Max five minutes

BBM. Curious why you think that?

In the timeline released in today's press conference, it was not an hour to make the call. It was made very quickly. Family checked at 11:56am, call made to 911 at 12:03pm.

Like I said in my previous comment, her kids likely purchased the Apple watch for her as a safety measure.

It took them 7 minutes to make the 911 call. Was clarified in the timeline given today

Sorry should have kept reading before commenting on the timeline 🤣

"The press conference also revealed
that a
chilling ransom letter demanding millions of dollars for Nancy's release
had a deadline of 5pm local time on Thursday.

Investigators said the ransom did not include proof of life or a way for the Guthrie family to make contact.

However,
it did set a secondary deadline of Monday
for them to meet demands of millions in Bitcoin for her return home."

Has there ever been a legitimate kidnapping for ransom where the family paid and the victim was let go alive?
"Ever"? Yes, of course. Eg John Paul Getty in the 1970s. But that was the Italian mafia, who operated kidnapping as a business.

What I question is the actual competence of most kidnappers in the US. Like someone said - possibly Fargoish, a hare-brained scheme by some local who came in contact with her and learned about her semi-famous daughter.

One can hope they are too fearful of consequences/too confused about next steps, to kill her.

Yes. Basically, he said they have identified NO PRIMARY SUSPECT(S)/NO PERSON OF INTEREST.
That could be a complete lie - if they are monitoring suspects they aren't going to broadcast it.

Neighbors of Nancy Guthrie reported spotting a suspicious white van parked on their street in the days before the 84-year-old vanished.

Seems like if someone saw a suspicious vehicle, they’d take a cell phone pic of vehicle/plate. I do just in case. Wonder if anyone did…

I know this must have already been discussed somewhere but is there actual evidence that the sister is married? I keep seeing him referred to as husband and boyfriend. She didn’t take his surname. Not all women do.

Also, it was a Nest doorbell?

According to the newly released timeline. It took five minutes to call 911, not an hour
