I just had a horrible thought.
The plea from the family included we will pay if you indeed have Nancy.
What if they paid anyway out of fear and without proof of life, and they are getting Nancy's body back ?
Was thinking same thing

What are the chances this is a thrill crime? Someone put great effort into planning and pulling this off. Maybe they aren’t motivated by the money, they just want to see if they can do it. Seems like they’re having fun with the media hoopla and playing chess with the fbi.
Oh as sick as people are for sure. To toy with an 84 year old lady like this you have to be one of those sickos on the dark web who holds a person hostage, people pay you money and when the total is reached all the people who paid get to watch the execution. I saw this stuff when I was younger on lifetime movies and I was naive to think "no way" but deep dove and it is unreal how sick dark web is.

A pacemaker continues to work as long as it detects a LIVING heartbeat. (Battery life is 8-10 years.). I believe they operate with RFIDs. IMO, that and the Apple Watch data may help to locate Nancy. Seems it would be possible to re-synch the watch if it comes in close range or the pacemaker is identified near a specific tower.
Info from Google search: An Apple Watch cannot detect a pacemaker in a dead person, as the watch is designed to monitor human pulse and blood flow, not electronic device signals. If a person passes away, the Apple Watch will stop recording heart rate data because it can no longer detect blood flow or pulse, and it may lock itself, thinking it is no longer on a wrist.

Any link to the new note and search at her home?

I’ve followed some unprecedented cases on here (idaho4, Jayme closs, Luigi) but this one takes the cake.

Wildest one I’ve ever followed, and it’s not even close.
The vallow/daybell case was pretty out there!

This doesn't sound good. Unless they are are searching for something the alleged kidnapper left for LE to find

That worries me, too.

In Harvey Levin's opinion, who first saw the ransom note, he said it's "well written" (which I am dubious of watching Harvey) and went on to say "it's definitely not AI".

But that's his opinion and a lot of leaks in this case are majorly framed in speculation (including the Sheriff)
There's software designed to detect AI, and there are a lot of telltale signs of AI as well.

Just got a TMZ notification and jumped ........... it was to say that Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes broke up.....
Had a chuckle from your comment, thanks. :)
All the best to Kelsea and Chase in their new directions in life....

Although it sounds like there's movement in this case now ?
As far as Nancy's abduction (& I don't believe she left willingly); my guess would be that it was to hurt her family or just SG ?

It's just so odd in this day and age to have a person kidnapped for ransom even though bitcoin may make it easier.
Rare for it to happen at all !
Imo.

Yes but so what if it proves it is same losers as first note. Doesn't prove they still have her alive or ever did after that night. Still doesn't even prove they are not some college kids trying to make some bit coin off this. If they ever find out the person sending these isn't connected and took away manpower from a real investigation throw away the key.

This is crazy. It's either a complete coincidence with the timing of the 2nd ransom note or LE just got back some results from the lab that is tied to Nancy's house.
Wasn't the letter received at 11am MST? Why wait so long to double check what was written in the note? It would've been the easiest way to initially verify it.

And at the press conference yesterday, the Sheriff stated that they have been checking with pharmacies to see if any of NG's prescription medicines have been refilled. So it seems to me that LE know that her prescription medicines were left behind.
What pharmacy would refill a NG prescription with all the publicity?

That's so creepy, do they actually let the people go once ransom is met? Terrifying.

I know it's been brought up in the thread (from parts I've read trying to keep up), I guess I have to remember AZ being close to the border and be open to that (I'm Canadian so seems so nuts to me this happens!!)

I googled about how often people are returned after ransom is paid IRL.

I was surprised. I thought the numbers would be close to 0’s and they are close to 90’s.

It is a business. And an agreement. And as in any business, you as the “vendor” have to keep your part of the bargain.

Moreover, the amount can be negotiated. So as long as it is a typical cartel-organized business, think “merchants”. So “don’t pay them, they never return people back” is the worst reputation they can ever get.

About you being a Canadian…the reason it seems nuts to you is because both Canadian and US border patrol works very well!

When we traveled to Canada and our kid was young, both on the Canadian side and back in the US, we had to answer a lot of questions. With legal passports and the kid being our spitting image. Once the question they asked the kid was so adult that it surprised me. They explained, very politely, that there are cases of kids being trafficked and they have to prevent it.
So that’s why it sounds nut to you. They are just very good.

Why would that be?

So the searchers could do their business without attracting a lot of attention.

ETA: We're seeing a feed from the Fox News Drone; yet, I don't see it on Flightaware.

JMVHO.
