If this photo was on NG cameras is it possible they have know for awhile but were trying to draw them out thru the ransom notes? Per CNN it was on her camera. I'll wait impatiently for the FBI announcement.

Members of the media including her NBC colleagues and people like her close friend Jake Tapper at CNN have admitted that it’s disconcerting and unusual to cover a colleague’s personal tragedy. No doubt they are treading more carefully.

I am a former journalist and trust me, colleagues definitely are treated differently if they or their family members experience troubles.

One billion percent agree.

They are covering the story because it is news, and that is their mandate.

This does not preclude the personal anguish they feel over this calamity which has landed on their colleague and friend. I suspect they are all quite alarmed that this could happen to them as well, now that the dam has been breached.

I am not at all certain the culprit is a family member, though I know it is possible.

I do think notifying TMZ as one of the recipients of the ransom notes seems to skew toward someone younger.

If I were the culprit I’d have zeroed in on NBC instead of TMZ, because I’m old but particularly because it’s a long-established legacy network, with endless money and connections, but mainly because Savannah is one of the faces of NBC news and it’s a gut-punch to them as well.

I think the Woodrum case is the most applicable.

In that one, police did a geofence, which isolated two cell phones during the time in question. One of those phones was the victim's, but the other was unknown.

They eventually figured out the identity of the person using the unidentified phone, and DNA nailed him. He eventually led them to the body after being interrogated.
Cell phones have advanced crime solving so, so much! Love the geofence technology.
Even burner phone tracing!

But if she charged her watch in the same place, it would have been a known location to almost anyone who came into the house, i.e. cleaning, repairs services, visitors, etc. For reference, I leave my charger plugged in and in the same location. Then I just place the watch there every night before bed.
Good morning (barely) but I disagree. It would depend on where she preferred to charge it as to who saw it. If she kept it on the kitchen counter then many visitors might see it. If she kept it on her bathroom vanity or bedside table, not so many. I'm sure everyone has a location where items normally charge but I would imagine her watch would need to charge in or very close to her bedroom suite, since it needed to stay in close proximity to her pacemaker, but there are still options. Furniture with charging functions built right in, charging stations in drawers, vanity, some closets have islands in them, etc.

and I think that was a mistake...MOO. Now they have a potential suspect on a surveillance photo they are planning to release soon. She may already be deceased but I believe the perp and the ransom not were the same people..MOO
I think multiple teams of law enforcement were working several angles all at once, not just one angle and refined their strategies as evidence or other information developed. I think they knew what they were doing.
