Yes. And elderly people living alone are often targeted by criminals. However, unless they are forcing them to go to ATMs, I can’t think of a case where they did not leave the body behind, when robbery/burglary was apparent.

Also, I don’t think we have information indicating there were signs of anything stolen?

Same thing goes for weirdos who may want to attack an elderly person for some reason. They leave the bodies behind.

This is what throws me here.

Makes you wonder if this WAS connected to ransom notes?
He looks so prepared. And she was so weak.

I’m sick of reading comments on news outlets demanding to know why this new story is getting so much attention - the reason is, this is a very unusual case and very high profile for obvious reasons.

I hope there is a resolution for the family soon.

Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors - including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.

Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance.

Have you seen the SIL's beard? It's quite bushy (unless he's shaved it) and I think a beard like his would have distorted a mask like that, which appears to be one of those old school ski masks.
