The unknown DNA investigators obtained in the case of Nancy Guthrie’s abduction is going to be helpful when investigators have a suspect, CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller said.

Officials have not been able to determine who the DNA belongs to, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

This means it didn’t match the “known contributors,” Miller said, meaning the people who have been around or inside Guthrie’s house for other reasons.

It’s also “not somebody who’s been convicted of a felony or arrested on a serious charge where that DNA would be in the FBI system,” Miller said. Investigators would have run it through that database, he said.

sounds like it's just STR. good for CODIS and confirming matches. not good enough for FGG. ... but that's not to say they aren't able to get SNP here also.

They would if the ransom criminal and the kidnapper/murderer are two different people

They went there looking for her, not to arrest an extortionist.

I agree. I don't think LE believes the family is guilty, they're just carefully hedging. On the slim chance this case is an absolute unicorn and it does turn out to be family, the Sheriff doesn't want to end up with egg on his face.

This is one of the Daily Mail’s most intentionally misleading headlines out there. She didn’t “dismiss” him, it’s a rehash of his comments from the interview quotes released earlier today from another news site.

Definitely a Daily Fail!

Hmm.. does that mean they have the DNA of everyone who has been in the house, including her friends, service providers, workers, neighbors, an electrician who may have only come once eg, and so on. ? I doubt it.
Known contributors could simply mean her family.

If law enforcement suspected a family member of committing this crime, or had any convincing evidence that made a family member even a person of interest, they wouldn't be swatting and knocking down the doors of an entirely unrelated person's home 45 miles south of Tucson.

JMO.
Yes and no. Sometimes family can be indirectly involved and/or more than one person or persons can be involved.

In Dan Markel's murder five people were arrested and convicted and only one of those was the shooter and family was involved behind the scenes.

Not saying that is the case here. Just sayin.

UNDER WRAPS: Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos tells Fox News national correspondent Jonathan Hunt there is a glove being tested — but it was not found at Nancy Guthrie’s home. He says it was located about two miles away. Nanos would not comment on bomb squad and SWAT activity for tactical reasons, saying “a lot is happening right now” and adding it would be inappropriate to discuss details due to officer safety concerns.

The problem here is how does one know if it is real or not?

On one hand it could be a scammer trying to scam money and doesn't have any real information at all.

On the other hand if this person knows who is involved, it stands to reason that this person is also involved and likely participated in the home invasion and abduction too.
You have a good point. If real, one might think the guy would have been smart to ask for some sort of immunity if he was involved.

I would like to know if they took a DNA sample from DE (convicted felon and bandmate)

I dont like how they won’t comment on NG health condition. Praying for all if them this ends soon.

Do you agree that if Nancy’s phone was brought into range of the pacemaker, it would show up on the Bluetooth, if for example, they had a tip off where to search such as a building or general area?
Assuming the pacemaker is not damaged it would synch normally to NG's phone app. IMO

“Authorities are taking DNA samples from hired workers around Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home as the desperate search for Savannah’s mom continues.”

IMO it's time to pay the BITCOIN BANDIT. I am really disappointed this has not been done. It's a race against time. Pay it and see or wait out the DNA, doorbells in the area clues and possibly watch this become a cold case. JMO
SG should pay. Not a big loss to her. At least, she would know if the TMZ was a scam.

...and never thought the crims they used could be traced back to the Adelson family

Interesting interview with Katie Couric. Former FBI agent says video looks staged. Lots of good points. Former FBI Agent Tells Katie Couric That Nancy Guthrie Security Footage Looks ‘Staged’
Good article! I liked this part especially,
Daly, for her part, added, “It’s either the most amateurish thing ever — or it’s what someone wants us to think. It was very strange…I think it tells us something about the individual.” Daly also noted that adult kidnappings are “extremely rare,” and Nancy’s age (84) makes her case a “high-risk crime.”

“High-risk crimes like this are rarely spontaneous. There’s usually pre-planning: knowing the person’s patterns, whether there are cameras, the layout of the home, the method of egress,” she explained. “We almost never see a spur-of-the-moment [kidnapping], which is what it would look like if this person is an amateur. … Also, removing an 84-year-old woman with mobility issues from inside a house would be very difficult for one person. It would be very risky

Would it be possible to bring a gurney to transport her after disabling with a blow to the head or something?

The tracks…could they be a gurney?

Setting aside the need for clicks/views, I truly wonder why Harvey at TMZ thinks its the right decision to publicize the supposed ransom notes.

Questions:
1. Is it adding anything positive to the actual investigation for the public to know about these? Or does it harm it?

2. Does he get approval from LE prior to announcing on air?

If anyone knows of any interviews on Youtube or otherwise where pundits have discussed that, please share.
