One would think that by now that since everyone mentioned has been cooperating ; phones, vehicles' gps, and electronic devices handed over should show where everyone was and where they went-- or did not go -- that night ?

"Good afternoon, media partners -
Investigation: The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI continue to work jointly on this case. Our strong partnership is critical, and we remain fully committed to this collaborative investigation. To ensure consistency and streamline testing, evidence requiring forensic analysis is being sent to the same out-of-state lab that has been utilized since the beginning of this case. This decision was discussed with and agreed upon by local FBI leadership.

Evidence: Several gloves have been located during the investigation. The closest gloves were found approximately two miles from the home. Reports that a glove was found inside the residence or on the property are inaccurate. All collected evidence has been submitted for laboratory analysis. DNA other than Nancy Guthrie’s and those in close contact to her has been collected from the property. Investigators are working to identify who it belongs to. We are not disclosing where that DNA was located.

Leads: Investigators continue to follow up on all leads. The suspect description released by the FBI this week remains a key focus; however, investigators are not ruling out any individuals or possibilities. No suspect vehicles have been identified. We ask the public to continue submitting actionable tips. All submitted videos are being reviewed.

Video Requests: PCSD will send an additional message to surveillance camera users in the Guthrie neighborhood via the Neighbors App this afternoon. Investigators are requesting video from January 1, 2026, through February 2, 2026, including any suspicious activity involving people or vehicles.

Pool Service: At the request of the Guthrie family, routine pool maintenance was conducted at the residence today.

Media Briefings: There are currently no press briefings scheduled. The sheriff has granted a limited number of one-on-one interviews today and will not schedule additional interviews through the weekend.
We understand media interest is high; however, due to time constraints, not all requests can be accommodated. We encourage outlets to coordinate with their local affiliates when possible."

This sort of update should happen daily. Clears up so much confusion and misinformation.

Even though media said Door Dash guy was cleared, LE said today that nobody was cleared, including this guy that they previously interviewed / apprehended. MO

I agree...and a potential reason why there's no huge payout is because the kidnappers don't have the ability to provide proof of life (read into that however you wish).

I don't think SG has anything to lose by paying the new information request. They have the author's email address so she could respond with "I'll pay you $20,000 now, another $80,000 when the kidnapper is charged and a further $500,000 if Nancy returns alive"

SG said a week ago in her video "we will pay". SHE DIDNT. Proof of life can be a moment in time. Perp could prove she is alive. Get the money then dispose of NG. I don't think saying WE WILL PAY then not doing so was psychologically smart. Plus, if perp is one person and ransom writer is just someone who knows who the perp is, how does he provide "proof of life"?

Hi. Newbie here. Please be gentle. This site is fascinating and have been following here, news etc. Background in Admin law and behavioral clinician.

Separate from the horrific crime that occurred - the information/facts publicly available seems to point to several possibilities and observations and questions (most my summations and opinions):

1. This does not appear to be a robbery or robbery gone wrong (or for primary sexual assault purposes b/c Lantana guy (gait appears more stocky male) seemed behaviorally methodical, even paced, low energy although I keep it as a low probability option). There’s also been no report/discussion of valuables taken or wording to robbery AND kidnapping from reliable sources.

2. If that is true then the other probable options for this kidnapping are:

it’s primarily a kidnapping for ransom or a kidnapping to cover intended murder.

3. If kidnapping for ransom the ransom note sent 2x for money to be deposited in bitcoin wallet came and went with no seeming proof of life. It does seem possible the 2nd note sent may have eluded to her no longer being alive. Listen to language from SG’s presser “return our mother to us…so we can celebrate with her” etc.

4. If that’s true and no proof of life then they either had no intention of showing proof of life and it is staged to cover intended murder and the bitcoin acct is not what they’re counting on OR she died during/shortly after kidnapping and it was intended for ransom. But if intended for ransom there have been no more messages to leave body for ransom. If true than more likely a cover for murder. Why would they not continue to seek ransom if family wants body and if ransom was primary goal)?

5. If cover for murder then who benefits?

Probably not SG. Well off. Then we have brother from VT or AG and SIL (I put them together b/c my feeling is if 1 is involved then both are involved due to living together and presuming 1 would know if 1 was absent for up to 1 hour middle of that night).

Kidnappings without body has to wait 5 years before closing case and disbursing estate funds according to earlier post on AZ law. But if body is found (in desert decomposed etc) estate can be settled and funds disbursed thereafter.

Open to thoughts.

Maybe, or rather, likely, some of NG's family have been cleared and some haven't. They probably and rightfully, don't want to single anyone out. So nobody is cleared but they also are not suspects. JMO
