I know Nanos is tired, but I really hated the “it could take years” wording 😔 I hope they have leads and he was just saying that to obfuscate, but if he wasn’t. Very sad to think about this poor woman lacking justice for years. As is sad with every unsolved case, but still.

But if she opened the garage herself by a keypad, all she had to do is walk in and then push a button to close it.
For all we know, her family pulled their car into the garage to let her out. But this alone cannot tell us who did this.

84 year old woman with mobility and health issues getting dropped off 120 seconds from time garage door opened by family members is a red flag. I truly believe something happened to Nancy by someone super close to her that she recently interacted with on 1/31/26. Based on all presented in media, it just appears to me the suspect at house tampering with the cameras is an aftermath to coverup what happened to Nancy prior to 2/1/26.
Good points. I wonder why her pacemaker did not send an alert at the time she was awakened by masked armed strangers. My husband has a pacemaker and it sends data every night but it also has triggers setup to alert doctors if heart rate goes to high or too low. Certainly it would have spiked if she woke up. Maybe someone spiked her drink at dinner to make sure she slept soundly.

SG also qualified the "we will pay" strongly with a request for "proof of life" even specifying we live in a time where videos and audio can easily be faked, etc. doesn't appear they ever got that and it dead-ended.

remember the initial ransom was based on some very thin "evidence" linking to the scene IMO, the location of an apple watch and which spotlight was broken?? someone could have theoretically hacked a police report etc. There was no distinguishing calling card left or something more typical. Many experts still can in the veracity of this supposed ransom note email
THE "WE WILL PAY" INSTAGRAM MESSAGE did NOT ask for proof of life. 2 different Instagram messages.

Doesn't she walk with a cane? So cane in one hand and purse in the other. Possible.

There's nothing worse than an incompetent person with a fragile ego and control issues to hold everyone else hostage for the sake of preserving their own delusions of self.
Well said.

This case gets crazier everyday, and not in a good way!
I hope answers can be found soon!

Also, I'm not sure there were any instructions about how to pay
The ransom note included a Bitcoin address. That's how they would have paid.

We used to do a signal that we got in okay. We would flash the porch light to family dropping us off. Could be something like that, or she texted to SIL, and then closed the garage. She likely would need to unlock door from garage to home too. Two minutes doesn't seem like a long time between pull up, open garage, say good bye, get things from car(maybe leftovers), and do the above that I mentioned.

Im traveling today and haven't had much time to catch up. I do want to share something that crossed my heart earlier.

Nancy has minor grandchildren that I'm sure adore and miss her. Can we send positive thoughts and prayers ( for those who pray) out for them?

Take care of yourselves, hug a loved one, and reach out today to someone you care about and may not haven't spoken to in a while.

Did they turn the house back over the family? They would essentially be allowing strangers to wander all over a crime scene. Hopefully, LE has what they need by now.
The home was turned over to the family quite some time ago. The officers there currently are there at the request of the family.

"A spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) in Arizona confirmed to PEOPLE on Sunday, Feb. 8, that at the request of the Guthrie family, the department will "maintain a presence at Nancy Guthrie’s residence for security purposes going forward."

"The sheriff's department replaced private security guards who were previously hired to monitor Nancy's Tucson, Ariz., home."

So, I've had thoughts about this. Most people commentating on the case... broadcasts etc are 40+ in age...I'm being liberal with low age, most are 50s, 60s especially former LE. They all say it doesn't make sense that it's a kidnap for ransom... kidnappers don't put demands forward this way. Sure... they didn't do things this way.

How often do we say "well, back in the day... "

If these are much younger perps, think mid20s - almost all comms are via social media, texts etc. - the even younger ones don't even know how to talk on a phone fgs!

Anyway, what I'm saying is... if this is a younger lil gang of 3, say... perhaps sending demands, anon via Media, was just normal thinking for them. Same theory asking for crypto... stark difference from asking for a bag of unmarked notes left in trash can beside park bench.

Young gens just do things differently...
Times change , technology advances but the blueprint remains the same imo

It wont let me see it because I don't have a 'X' account. Can you paraphrase?

JMO

ETA - Thanks to my new BFF @Fargo, I was able to see the post! It was from ABC news and linked this article
So according to this article only the man who was detained at the house has been released. It doesn’t mention the main detained at the RR as being released.

This speculation about her mobility is so silly to me. The truth is we have no idea what her mobility was like in or around the house. Comfort with mobility can change every day for older folks.

There was a period of time where a bunch of us on here just assumed she had a wheelchair. Totally made up. Even some of the info about distance she could travel or mailbox walking cannot be verified and could even fully change based on how she feels that day. All we know is she lived alone and struggled with mobility.

My mother is 74, struggles with stairs sometimes, and when I tried to get her a stair chair she wouldn’t talk to me for a week. Every situation is unique and we just have to be okay with not knowing.

Why not just keep the yellow police tape around the house? Maybe pizza man wouldn't have walked up to the door---maybe the reporter wouldn't have walked up to the door. Re-watching Idaho when LE first arrived on scene--they IMMEDIATELY put up police tape! This is where my frustration is coming from---the SO looks like they are incompetent. Is that incompetence purposeful? IDK--but its real frustrating to watch this get bungled up like it has.

Sorry to be so critical of LE---I've never been critical of them before and have always been supportive.

But something is not adding up for me, are they trying to protect someone? Someone has to talk....and soon....

Wonder how long the man questioned last night was their POI. Sometime after Rio Rico?
What made him a PoI? Of course we do not know.
Could be phone pings or he could have do e work at Nancy’s house.

The man in Rio Rico has a grey suv and the range rover is grey.

ANYONE else find it strange that there are no organized searches? One lady who volunteers anywhere they are searching for missing people including bodies can't believe there is nothing organized. I don't get it. Also I think LE does owe at least a press conf. every few days with update on things. I have never seen a crime like this with no press conferences.

I don’t find it strange at all. IMO NG was abducted from her home, likely transported in a vehicle. Large ground searches in this case are not effective. You can’t clear thousands of square miles without a target. The investigation is on digital evidence, dna, surveillance, vehicles , developing POI, and of course identifying the suspect(s). They don’t need community volunteers out searching either. No way. If a ground search is needed , LE will utilize their trusted and experienced SAR teams that know how to properly ground search, document and alert to evidence or human remains.

I also don’t think PC’s are needed right now. Definitely not routinely at this stage. The FBI released the video of the suspect. That’s the focus along with the date ranges LE is asking area residents to think back on and to review their own home security video. IMO
