Can i just say that a man from his posture can very well be able to lift Nancy by himself.
Being strong doesn't mean being bulky or have the size of a giant.
Especially if you're running on adrenaline.
There are many examples of smaller looking dudes beating bulky ones in a strenght competition.
This could mean he acted alone.

Has it been released that anything was taken from the home? Is there anyway of knowing if jewelry or money was missing? I know many elderly people with cash hidden all over and even have safes with cash. The investigative work done early on makes me question if we would really know.

Tonight I’m praying as we are all praying and bracing for the news that will be coming. I’ve been angry about this one. EXTREMELY ANGRY that some rando came and took a beautiful elderly woman out of HER SAFE PLACE, HER HOME. I’m currently a “new member” to all of you, but I’ve been here before. I discovered WS 18 years ago. I got hooked when they discussed the Sheila & Katherine Lyon disappearance from a mall in Maryland that looked exactly like a mall I use to go to. They were very close in age to myself, and it haunted me because I was almost taken… TWICE…To all of you who are truly new, follow the rules. I was booted a few times because my emotions got out of control on some cases especially Delphi, Jennifer Dulos & Kristen Smart.Thank you to all of the moderators and especially to Tricia who keeps this AMAZING SHIP SAILING. This is just my opinion, just a question and it is not based on fact; it is only conjecture. If someone has NG and she is alive, how could they return her to family without being caught? Is there any means of returning a victim who was taken on impulse and now is a big time liability?

Drop her off somewhere, preferably at a quieter location where they’re less likely to be spotted doing so or caught on camera. Would be a risky move though.

There has been a lot of discussion about how poorly public communication has been handled in this case.

As a police public relations specialist, I’ll say this: In high-profile cases, it’s imperative for law enforcement to get in front of the story. A disciplined, well executed communications strategy is critical.

When agencies don’t communicate clearly and consistently, speculation fills the gap and public confidence is eroded—as we’re seeing here.

A strong PIO/comms team helps:

• Protect investigative integrity
• Control misinformation
• Coordinate media access
• Maintain public trust
• Demonstrate professionalism
• Encourage public cooperation

Vague or inconsistent communication damages credibility.

In this investigation, both the PCSD and the FBI would benefit substantially from a more strategic communications approach.

My suggestion: Put a strong PIO at the mic, do some damage control, and reset the narrative going forward.

As a fellow PIO, I couldn't agree more. I'm a PIO for a state agency and not law enforcement, but I was on the job during COVID-19 and it was a masterclass in crisis PR. MOO

We actually know very little about the crime scene. We don't even know why LE immediately knew it was a crime scene and not a missing person. We have guessed there was blood at the scene but we don't really know. LE has kept the crime scene is

I could see a burglary gone wrong with fatal results. That's easily conceivable and happens, especially with a medically compromised 84 year old. It's basically a trope in crime movies with blundering amateurs. But a burglary gone wrong into a kidnapping is highly unusual. I don't even know how that would go down logistically.

NG is an adult and not a small baby that one could literally scoop up and run out of the house with if this was, in fact, an impromptu kidnapping. I think they (yes, more than 1 person) came prepared to kidnap her and the proof of that is the stuffed backpack the front door perp was wearing. If someone was planning on a stealth burglary (in and out quickly), they wouldn't have been hauling around a bulky backpack, IMO. What boggles my mind is why do this? What is the motive? Kidnapping for ransom is very rare in the U.S. Kidnapping an elderly lady would be less "valuable", for example, than adducting a baby or small child.. A baby would likely bring in more $$$, one would think. That makes me think this is definitely targeted because they know SG is NG's rich daughter. Why didn't the family pay the ransom? Was it really because proof of life was denied? I'm still so confused.

What are some of these professional crimes you're referencing?

? burglaries, targeted home invasions, murders for hire.

You will find people of skilled adjacent backgrounds, who are meticulous and act professionally, as say contrasting to some tweaker or wannabe who leaves their license at the scene or does unnecessary stupid moves and are often ill prepared.

There is a contrast spectrum in the commission of crimes just as with any activity and profession.

They’re testing another glove? Where was the first glove found? I thought they said one wasn’t discovered inside the house? How do they know any of these belonged to the perp then? This is just getting more ridiculous.

How do they know these gloves belonged to the perp? Reporters, including BE, had a box of the gloves that he opened to show viewers. It could be a reporter’s glove. It was found days later. Is another wrongful arrest imminent over these things? Will they end up arresting a reporter?

I would be cautious about infantilizing someone. The ageism in this discussion is concerning.

Just off the top of my head I (in my 60s) know people in their 70s and 80s who are maintaining rigorous schedules in the community band, who are leaders in the garden club, who still work, who maintain their own properties, who put in a lot of hours doing childcare for their family members, who drive large RVs, etc.

My former neighbor, at age 90, used to have a large vegetable garden each year and SHE would be snowblowering my driveway while I was still lying in bed. She wrote two books in her 80s, on a computer, and still drove 100 miles a few times a month to visit her sister.

There is no indication that NG had any cognitive decline, isolation, loneliness. She had mobility issues but she seemed to have a fairly active life. She still owned and presumably drove a vehicle.

Using the same old FB photo is nothing. I personally have a 20-year-old photo on LinkedIn because I don't like images of myself.

Asking how to get to the airport? Maybe she wanted to greet someone. Maybe she offered to pick up someone. Maybe she was looking that up for a friend. She didn't need anyone to "arrange a shuttle" for her.

NG is/was not a doddering, incompetent person, based upon anything I've read. It was stated when the disappearance was first announced that she was "sharp as a tack." Lots of people look up things online out of curiosity, not need or desperation.

As to the porch pirate, it didn't unnerve her too much as she didn't move, hire security guards or purchase a Ring subscription.

I agree - my mother is 84 and my father 85 and they're in better health than I am, still live in the house I grew up in and are quite active in the community. They even exercise more than I do.

Pretty much nothing about this case makes sense to me. Why her, why take an old lady and nothing else, the weird, random, oddball "ransom" notes when kidnapping for ransom is super unusual here in the US in general...
