multiple weeks- even if these folks decided to be humane and that NG was valuable to them alive- they feed her? she has a toilet? ...in a dark basement? and she never sees a human face? trouble imagining it. sorry
If this was a burglary gone wrong, they didn't have time to plan what they would do with NG. If they planned ahead, they could have an apartment or house where they could lock her in a room with an adjoining bathroom, do something with the windows so she doesn't break a window to yell for help and bring food to her while fully masked. You can't bring a kidnapped 84 year old to your home if you live with other people not involved in the crime.

I can't see this happening unless they had planned it ahead of time and then it wouldn't be classified as a "burglary gone bad". Curious what LE is thinking what their evidence is for this.

OR, maybe LE is putting out this "burglary gone bad" information for SG to approach the perpetrators with kindness about how SG understood that they had only intended to rob her mother and how she knew that they never had planned to take her out of her home, etc.

This "burglary gone bad" idea could be plausible if LE decided to use a respected media person to intentionally use this "burglary gone bad" language with the public in order to facilitate SG having the best chance possible of negotiating her mother's return. IMHO

over the shoulder and she was bleeding from her head or mouth behind him as he walked.

she is not that light though it would be challenging maybe to carry her out that way,,
JMO it would be challenging for a single man to move a 150lb woman very far.

As a thought, if she were being held in a abandoned house, guest house, cabin, old shack, the kidnappers just leave and send the location. Or she is moved to an abandoned house, guest house, cabin shack, or random location and the location sent to the family or LE.
Place would be loaded with perp's DNA..so...nah...JMO

The perpetrator appeared to be wearing two pairs of gloves (likely to avoid his/her own DNA being deposited on the same DNA as the victim’s DNA). So, that person likely thought there was zero risk to tossing out the outer pair of gloves.
Totally agree with this. So if they found the outer pair of gloves with Nancy’s DNA and some lantana on it…
This is clearly not a robbery gone wrong. They are in my opinion and this is what I suspect is happening ;
- The Guthrie family are corresponding with the ‘one bitcoin’ ransom note writers.
That guy is passing along information and ‘softening it’.
Authorities are putting out this information as fact to keep him talking.
Without proof,I don’t think j it was either a robbery gone wrong or sadly it is unlikely Nancy is still alive.
I’m interested in hearing more about your theory! I truly could believe anything at this point, we know so little really.

What do you mean by “softening” the information? And which info do you think authorities are putting out as fact to keep him talking?

I read somewhere that "If burglars come by day, they want your stuff. If they come at night, they want you."
Hadn't heard that before but that makes total sense. If you want to get valuables from a house, doing it in the daytime when nobody is at home makes the most sense. JMO

I've seen some emergency responders carry people from the same family out of a burning house in my neighbourhood, they were unconscious.
That's why i believe it is possible there was only one guy who took Nancy, even if she already passed away.
JMO MOO
first responders, EMTs, furniture movers, warehouse folk, mechanics, move 150 lbs... it is not that heavy for a working person who lifts things- yes, better to use a dolly or a hydraulic lift or a fork lift, and possibly bad for the back, but it is not impossible IMO

Yes, that's the most logical explanation for the perfectly round, undisturbed droplets. It was deposited straight down from behind whoever moved her. Or perhaps from the side if she was carried horizontally, but over the shoulder is easier. IMO

At the risk of sounding a little too out there..., in SG's video released this past hour, is it a possibility she could be utilizing FBI guidance for non-verbal communication with suspects? I.e. morse code via blinks, left/right glances as a form of communication, etc.? Watching the video on mute it seemed like blinking was spread very evenly across the duration, though I imagine in the more reasonable scenario ones eyes may become more irritated navigating this scenario in her position.

The profile of a burglar who messed up isn’t consistent with the ransom notes, described repeatedly by Levin as being well structured, detailed, and well written. It also doesn’t fit with the ability to successfully hide digital tracks when submitting those letters to multiple news outlets.

My recent feeling about the perpetrators doesn’t fit with what we know of the ransom notes, either. Yet the writer had knowledge of the crime (watch location, state of rear floodlights). So perhaps the ransom has come from an opportunistic associate, as some people suggested early on.

This case reminds me of the first month of the Idaho case. I suspect the person who did this was similar to that one in that the family won't know the person.

Not sure about this. It doesn’t seem like SG would make a decision about her future at this point but it’s possible.

“(NewsNation) — “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie is weighing a permanent exit from the top-rated morning show as the frantic search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, drags into its third week, sources tell NewsNation’s Paula Froelich.

Savannah Guthrie has been on leave as the FBI and authorities in Pima County, Arizona, pursue investigative leads into Nancy Guthrie’s Feb. 1 disappearance from her Tucson area home. It’s believed the 84-year-old grandmother was taken, and media outlets have received bitcoin ransom demands.

“This absolutely came out of the blue, and I think she’s really concerned that it was because of her job,” Froelich, NewsNation senior story editor, told “NewsNation Prime” on Saturday.

I really hope there is a resolution and closure for her and family soon. I hope she doesn’t leave the Today Show. I know RN she is wondering if her position played a part in the perps idea of the crime. But, none of us know this yet. They say after any major trauma, don’t change anything big for a while.
Leaving the Today Show RN, would be giving away some of her power to the perps, I hope she isn’t so crushed by this that she folds.
I get the impression she will always land on her feet, no matter what she decides. So if she does leave Today Show, she will likely rise again like a phoenix! 🙏

Not at all. I've done it for great distances and I'm only 180 lbs myself. You don't need strength when you have leverage and your core and legs are doing the work. If there was a car waiting (and I think there was) it's only a matter of about 20-30 ft, if that. This position also perfectly accounts for the undisturbed blood pattern. IMO

They do lift heavy stuff... but it is very difficult to move a body that is not cooperating. It's cumbersome and awkward. It can of course be done but it's not that easy.

From your link:

“2:12 a.m. — The camera’s software detects movement. Investigators initially said that there was no video available since Guthrie didn’t have an active subscription to the company. But digital forensics experts kept working to find images in backend software that might have been lost, corrupted or inaccessible.”

Levin has said in a couple of his videos that he confirmed with LE that the recovered FBI images and video were from 2:12 am. And the pacemaker’s “disconnection” is likely an alert indicating the app’s failure to make its daily connection to the iPhone. (See previous posts, like this one.)

If things started at or around 1:47 am, I don’t see anything in the timeline that doesn’t correspond with “what we’re seeing in the FBI video may be from the end.”
Apparently her pacemaker detected
Just noting that I find it interesting the last couple of videos have been SG alone, when we'd seen the siblings all together for a couple of videos.

They've been SG only after that search at AG's last weekend

Jmo
Maybe SG determined--with expert advise--that it's a more personal interaction if it's just SG talking to the perpetrator and she's better able to express the care and softness on a 1-1 basis. Since SG does something similar for a living, SG likely has the best skills to communicate this strategic and seemingly caring approach in a persuasive way. JMO

How would it be an intended burglary? 1.) A man breaks in to steal and then sees pictures of SG and decides to take it to another level that includes abduction and ransom? Or 2.) a man breaks in, something happens to NG, the perp sees pictures of SG and decides to take her body, then decides to ask for ransom? (Just being honest here-I somewhat knew of SG before all of this, have never watched The Today Show, but I would never recognise her in person, let alone a picture in a woman's home in Tucson, AZ.) jmoo
I assume that they knew she was SG’s mom and that’s why she was targeted for the burglary. Either through word of mouth (someone in the neighborhood or someone who worked for NG for example) or because they saw SG’s hometown special on tv. Completely my opinion though.
