Sheriff Nanos stated no when asked if there were tire tracks or footprints at the Feb 3 (I think it was) news conference.

Kind of a weird longshot and it’s probably been said before earlier in the thread but there’s the possibility that all of the emails to TMZ have been from the perp and they shifted to trying to get a much lower amount once they realised that no proof of life meant not getting their intended “jackpot”.

Just because they were released after the search does not mean they are not the perpetrators. They may end up being charged and LE and FBI were waiting to get additional solid evidence such as DNA linking the suspects to the crime scene. JMHO

I have wondered if they released them to see if they slipped up and lead them to her or where she is at?

I'm pretty sure that cash is federal jurisdiction by nature of what it is and who prints it, and would be considered interstate commerce by default. But hopefully someone else will chime in to clarify if my understanding isn't fully correct.

If they used the internet, cell phone or other instruments of interstate commerce (mail) to carry out the kidnapping for ransom it falls under federal jurisdiction whether cash, bitcoin, gold, silver or expensive Pokémon cards etc. are demanded in exchange for the victim. They could have the state prosecute the offender for kidnapping and just focus on the communication aspect of the ransom or they could take on both. In this case the feds would take on both to really stick it to this person or persons.

i wouldn't have said he was good at problem-solving, only that he attempted to rather than freezing up or charging ahead without doing anything about the camera. the fact that he kept thinking, even though he did a bad job of it, seems significant to me. maybe a sign he's broken into houses before? i don't see panic.

I was trying to figure out how to describe his manner on the footage-best I can do is “laid back”. Not what I would expect to see, but that might just be my own stereotypical thought process. I expect someone that looks more sure of themselves, determined, a little quicker with their steps and process. The lantana is a head scratcher.

On the second or third letter they issued a threat (speculating toward Nancy) of what they would do if they didn't get their money. They shifted from observer of kidnappers to kidnapper. Total bs

I think the suspect or suspects are sending those emails to create chaos. They crave attention, and they’re desperate to get the heat off them. I just get the feeling the stakes are too high for anyone else to be playing these games with the FBI. Or they’re well outside U.S. jurisdiction.

I can already see in the comment sections of TMZ for example, horrid xenophobic posts. Makes me wonder what the emailer is trying to whip up.

Doesn't seem like LE is taking the bait.

I saw it on the tow truck there was damage to the right front side. It was dented in. I would say minor damage. I don't know how recent it was.

Possible, but I think the more likely reason is that NG might have been removed from her property in her own car and then whoever was driving her car and whoever was driving that other car both drove to the same place (terrain that my have been tough on both cars).

NG’s car was taken by LE after LE reportedly viewed Circle K surveillance. I’m guessing LE saw NG’s car on surveillance being used that night. And for perpetrators so careful to disguise themselves and possibly protect themselves from DNA transfer, it would make sense for them to use NG’s vehicle to contain her until they get her to where they are taking her. Presumably, her vehicle electronics will tell that part of the story.

But wasn't the opening and closing of the garage door recorded (2 to 3 minutes) when NG was brought back by family to her house that night?
If NG was taken in her own car, there would be another time recorded later where the garage door was opened and closed.

Or am I mistaken about the first sentence....though LE knows that the door was opened and closed within 3 minutes timeframe, right?
