If she had a fender bender, AG would have worked with NG to get it fixed as soon as possible, I would think. Guessing that if she had a fender bender, it was recent. JMO
BBM. And that might answer the question of why she was using an uber to get to her daughter's for dinner. Maybe she realized it was time to give up the keys.

So what are all those claiming that the SIL was involved saying now?
The 'I told you so' narrative doesn't really sit well in a civil WS forum IMO

I also think its fair to say LE had to rule the family out through investigation, just as sleuthers were considering who might be responsible for Nancy's disappearance. Up until very recently, they weren't ruled out.

Just because someone's views on the crime now align with a statement from LE does not suggest they are any better at sleuthing nor had any evidence to back their views. Sleuthers never have all the information so discussions can go any which way until LE provide extra information. I think support and reflection in these discussions is more important than someone (not directing at you ZeroAlpha) saying 'I knew better than you' or 'see I told you, I was right and you were wrong'. Being real, noone on WS has enough evidence to say one way or the other, its just people reflecting, talking and processing what we do have access to. One day a person might GUESS the right offender, the same person might be completely wrong the next case.

Nothing is gained by claiming superiority in this situation.

I am hoping the Sheriff doesn't backtrack and is certain in his words this time, and we see some movement on the DNA findings in the next few days. Savannah's latest video was heartbreaking :(

It’s also a holiday. Possible it will get loaded tomorrow.
Nancy can wait one more day to be rescued -- the gov'mnt needs its day off!

If he wasn’t a suspect, why were police at his house taking photos for over 3 hours? Why were they going door to door in his neighbourhood asking people if they could check their backyards?
He was a suspect. He is no longer one. Honestly that can only mean they have another suspect they are closing in on. Probably the DNA results were fruitful.

I've thought the same thing. That FBI and LE released them because they didn't have enough rock solid evidence yet (waiting for DNA reports and Land Rover results).

And, I think LE has been releasing a fair amount of information that could make the perps increasing frightened, and LE and FBI would love for them to get really nervous and make a mistake.

And, I also think that they were waiting for DNA to come back from the property, the gloves and possibly something in the Land Rover. LE and FBI want very solid evidence to link them directly to the crime in order to get a conviction.

But that Friday night SWAT raid was serious. Enormous amount of vehicles and LE/FBI presence. In order to get a federal warrant, FBI have to present a lot of compelling evidence. Federal warrants are a big deal and there was a great deal of information in the warrant that led to the judge issuing the warrant. Don't think it was a mistake that they zeroed in on that man.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with the Adelson case but I've been thinking they have been possibly tickling the wire to see where it leads. I would say it looks like it leads somewhere. The guys detained Friday are definitely being monitored.

I guess this would fit in with #2:

Someone who worked for her that had committed some kind of fraud that she was going to report, and felt they had to silence her.
Elderly have acquaintances their relatives don't know. NG could have known about/given $$$ (over time) to someone.

He’s been cleared, along with other family. I can’t imagine what he’s gone through. IMO
But, at the time, LE was investigating all angles, so it makes sense that they followed their leads to a family member's house and property. Not because they were guilty but because LE may have had some tips or suspicions, and it would have been irresponsible for LE not to investigate everybody.

Wish LE could have cleared the family earlier but I think they were waiting for DNA results from the gloves, the house and possible evidence in the Land Rover.

I also didn’t see damage in NG’s car photo. Is there verification that there was damage? I seem to remember my old Subaru having a seam — for lack of a better word — in the same place as what I saw on that photo.

Just like so many other things in this bizarre case - it might be, it might not be.

The guys detained on Friday are likely under a great deal of surveillance. JMO

Brian Entin was just on NewsNation with new info.

FBI has been going around to gun stores last couple of days with 40 names and 40 pictures asking for info.
Being smart azzy, I was going to suggest they should be checking with W-mart. I checked online and they do selll rifles and shotguns, but no handguns.

To be fair LE did not rule anyone out until Today. It is not unusual for people AND LE to look at those closest to the victim and work their way out. They say that in every single case I've ever seen. Now, the moment he says they are ruled out - then, of course, they should be left alone. The Sheriff did not rule out the family even though he was asked time and time again - even recently- and he continued to say they were not UNTIL today.

People were sleuthing all angles because that is what you do - keep an open mind until you find out more facts like today's development with the family. Too bad it took him more than two weeks to publicly rule them out.

for them to say this is a low crime area there seems to be a lot of people on porchs at night ...

Aren’t these the creepiest videos ? The number of these videos of guys creeping and lurking around people’s porches at night is quite alarming to me ! Who knew ??

Thanks for the information. I'll retract my comment. I wasn't familiar with the difference in varieties across different countries.

Purple trailing variety is probably Lantana montevidensis that has no thorns.

The variety I'm familiar with is Lantana Camara which has tiny thorns and spreads so wildly here that it's a real problem.
And I believe all of the varieties are invasive. JMO

If only. Perp(s) evil enough to bloody an elderly woman aren't going to be concerned about her care.

The care of the captive may be a business decision. If you get a more cooperative captive, less cost to handle. And a live captive is worth more than a dead one. Just dollars and cents decision.

Kidnapping is not a personal crime usually, it is just business.
