And my guess, about why BE has such a reliable inside source, is that he is not a big blabber mouth who sensationalizes; quite the opposite imo he is thoughful and stays within the boundaries of responsible reporting.

Just what I have seen so JMO
Absolutely agree.

I assume anything he releases has been approved by LE. Otherwise, he’s always very careful to add an, “I think..”, “maybe”, “be on the lookout” etc

Years ago neighbor across the street had lots of health issues including a pacemaker, he shot his self in the head.
When the paramedics arrived the blood was pumping out of his head, they had to remove the pacemaker to stop the flow.

Jmo
Yes i read the same about pacemakers and they are removed before burials.

I saw another news snippet of this. I wonder if the canvass was due to the likely holster pictured in the DoorCam or if there was so far unmentioned evidence of a gun attack at the crime pawn shops.

Or they can say that someone is "cleared" when in reality they are still on the "list" and are "suspect".
Yep. In many cases they may have an advantage by the unofficial suspect moving freely. Also, you cant really name someone a person of interest or suspect unless you are prepared to bring charges. As everyone knows with double jeopardy you cant try someone twice for same crime. Its imperto have all ducks in a row before you start naming names. Also, watching how they actually when pressure is applied. Do they flee the area? I think everything is a complex strategy in a complicated game in the time between having a really solid lead, but waiting on evidence. They'd really like to find her or a body to have a solid case. I think they already have the person in mind.

Interesting that it probably costs $$ for the Florida lab. The FBI? Zero.
Why would the FBI lab cost zero? Our collective tax dollars pay for every government service provided to society.

Just amped up creeping around a house with a light in your mouth and multiple gloves and multiple masks and a weird gun situation and playing with flowers. That's not very smooth. What type of person does a cartoon character assassin?
When I saw the flowers at the crime scene, I thought maybe it was someone she knew and that it was a ruse to get her to open her door. (Sorta like a stalker, but more like someone she was having issues with) By that, I mean; "Ms Guthrie, I have some flowers for you".

Ms. Guthrie: (Oh you again)

But with his garb on, I don't think so......

However, someone on WS guess it correctly! They thought the flowers may have been picked to obscure the camera! Wish I could remember the member's name.

Start your morning with The National News Desk as Jan Jeffcoat sits down with retired FBI agent and former Chicago police superintendent Jody Weise to discuss Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, bringing insight and context to the stories shaping the day.

EEK. That could account for blood on the porch, if NG was actually deceased, but pacemaker was still operating??? jmo

Love Love Love CeCe Moore! She is the goat! She also visits here at WS and actively works cases that are featured here. I can't recall now which case it was but she was here commenting on the case. I have confidence she is following the case here at WS, although I cannot provide any solid proof unless she comments here.
If she is working case, can’t wait to hear her results!

Ok thanks
The FBI has to do their own quality control review of the results from the Florida lab before entering the results into CODIS.

Even if the DNA gets a hit in CODIS or subsequent analyses, it still may not be someone connected to this case.

In this video, (21:00 approx mark) the retired FBI lady gave scenarios she has encountered to look for DNA or fingerprints. She spoke of being surprised how many perps use a washroom and looking under the seat for fingerprints. I'm wondering about urine splashed also ... would splashes of urine on a toilet seat or floor leave DNA?
They use the TOILET?!?!

Or the sink?

Sink i can understand - to wash off a victim’s blood, but toilet? What in the world??! That’s just ASKING to be caught.

I have 3 teen sons and a husband. I clean urine DAILY. It ranges anywhere from the seat, the seat lid, the rim, the base of the toilet, the grout, the floor tiles, the wainscot/wall tiles and in one bathroom the baseboards 😒🤦🏻‍♀️.

If a male perpetrator potties, there’s bound to be urine left behind.

No offense to any men on the board, it’s just the….. physics of…..splash, I suppose

I'm new to this site, this is my first posting. I've been following this case closely and have some thoughts. I've spent the last couple days trying to communicate with the FBI then with the Pima County Sheriff via email, I have not received a reply, no idea if anyone has seen my emails. Anyway I've been trying to put myself in the villain's head and arrived at the following thoughts. This guy is also following the news very close and he sees everything we see on TV. I have no idea his initial game plan, burglary, home invasion, kidnap for ransom, the perfect crime? Whatever I would guess Guthrie is long dead and this idiot has long ago decided he's way, way, over his head and is now in survival mode, how do I not get caught? Hopefully, the FBI and Sheriff have already thought of this but the suggestion I was trying to communicate to them was to ask the community to report any small fires or smoke they have recently observed, this might even be smoke from a chimney. I'm guessing this guy would be destroying every piece of evidence he has, gloves, mask, holster, backpack, jacket, shoes, etc. This might have been done in the past week or ten + days. Maybe you've lived next door to a neighbor for the past couple years and recently you observed smoke from the chimney for THE FIRST TIME EVER! Broadcast to entire community you're looking for any recent burnings or smoke, where there's smoke there's fire and just maybe the suspect! It's a long shot but it's something......How can I, you, we, get this suggestion to the FBI or Sheriff, any thoughts?
Welcome, Deep Throat.

Law enforcement right now is absolutely overwhelmed. They are flooded with tips and emails coming in from every direction.

Your idea is actually a clever one. If the perpetrator tried to destroy evidence by burning it and didn’t have access to an indoor fireplace, doing it outside would make the most sense.

That said, I would recommend not continuing to email. Instead, consider writing a physical letter and mailing it. A mailed letter is far more likely to stand out in the middle of thousands of digital messages and may have a better chance of being noticed.
Thanks for sharing.

If there’s a hit, it’s someone to follow, question, for sure.

If the suspect (s) is following the news, which I suspect they are, they should know her death does not mean the pacemaker automatically stops sending signals.... at least not yet. IMO

I also think the signal sniffer scan LE is doing is to aid in body recovery. IMO
I know it won't stop upon death. Only destruction of the device.

I wish they would've put the sniffer scan at the boarder crossing.

She would probably be more likely to open the door if the camera was only partially obstructed instead of totally covered. Maybe she recognized the voice, he mumbled something, or made noises and she cracked the door open to see what was going on. Then he shoved the door into her. If there are two doors there I guess he would have had to breach the outer one first.

Genetic DNA is tricky and we have to hope that the person matches even a 5th cousin in the pool. THEN, a tree has to be built. This is time consuming and cumbersome. You cant just push a button and get a tree. If he matches someone as a son, a first or second cousin, a nephew, then of course , it's easier. But a tree, even a smaller one, would need to be built. The results for this is somewhere down the line, IMO Weeks..at the very best. MOO

Brian Kohberger was identified within 3 days of the genetic genealogy was run in 23&me and other publicly available databases.

However, I think his dad had an actual profile uploaded so it was much faster than like a 2nd cousin which would be a typical "hit".

Welcome!

My observation of the perpetrator, at least for the duration of the video LE released, suggests that he doesn't seem the type to panic over much. He seems eerily relaxed in an increasingly high stress situation, even when he appeared to not anticipate the front door camera. No rush, just a mere speed bump. This suggests psychopathy, and psychopaths tend to be calculating, oft-grandiose, and heavily sadistic criminals. And this one seems organized to boot, and on a prior-planned mission of a specific target.

To your point, I don't think this one is responding that way at all. Panic and paranoia lead to mistakes and getting caught quickly. And since it appears this perpetrator didn't rush or panic in committing this act, it is unlikely that he is rushing or panicking after committing this act.

This is pretty typical and expected for him to not like he knew what he was doing and was not a professional. Lots of times they are also under the influence to get up the nerve, and it's never like you would see in the movies.

With a loved one on hospice, he must have long ago mourned the loss of his brother. It's called anticipatory grief. I, too, would have gone to that basketball game to get back to some semblance of normalcy! There is something really comforting to be able to get back to living when your loved one finally passes away. There will always be those conflicting feelings of sadness and relief, thought.
BBM from above

"With a loved one on hospice, he must have long ago mourned the loss of his brother. It's called anticipatory grief."

There is not a set amount of grief that individuals feel. Yes there is grief before the death but there is also enormous grief after the loss/ death with the finality of it all. Everyone experiences death in different ways so to make assumptions is difficult at best.

Anticipatory Grief and Grief after Loss - are two separate processes.

The sheriff deserves Grace and condolences.
