<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>I think he may have gotten a call from a certain someone and in response Nanos is now trying to improve the public-facing aspect of the case. He's giving clear facts.

How about this. Lantana, or something similar, had been placed over the camera before Lantana Man's infamous video moment. It had been placed there to give the impression of something natural having been blown in front of the camera, to not raise alarm and to give cover while NG was removed from the home. Any alerts to NG or family, etc., may have been likely to just dismiss the obstruction until the morning. (Isn't there a photo showing lantana or a wreath, or something, dead and dangling from around that side of the porch?) Lantana Man approaches the door (maybe to help the perp who subdued NG), and when he goes to knock to announce his arrival he suddenly realizes that the "natural obstruction" has blown away, and he has to improvise something quickly and then decides to take out the camera.

I'm wondering if it was a surprise to the perps that NG's disappearance was noticed so early?

Just some hypothesized scenarios. I still think the video isn't what many people are treating it as. Why does he not reach for the doorknob? Why go to knock? (Or do we see him ring?) Why not break through the side window?

Here is the video from NBC News pointing out what could be a ring on the glove at 0:45

Wow! In addition to getting help from Google, Mark Zuckerberg reached out, as well as Apple and other private companies to offer help. It's quite amazing!

I've done this before, called to have someone check on an elderly relative. In my case, my relative lives out of my state. I called the local police department, explained why I was worried and they sent someone over. It's their decision to send an officer who might call APS if something is amiss, or they could have just sent an APS worker over to begin with. I wasn't told who went, but in the end my relative got a hold of me. Perhaps the friend/neighbor called the police to check on NG when she didn't show up to watch the church service, and they opted to send APS instead of an officer.

Just a thought. IMO.
In my state (Nebraska) APS takes all sorts of abuse referrals, including financial abuse. I am not saying this is what happened, but if NG had been a scam victim and mentioned it to a neighbor, APS might have stopped by based on her age.

even if they didn't could the Google not do like they did on Nancy's ...extract the data. this is REALLY setting a new precedent however....demand Google or Ring or whoever get the info even without a sub
Unfortunately, not according to the Ring founder if there is no subscription. He actually addressed this last week. Ring cams are different than Google Nests with how they store video and without a subscription, there would be no video in the cloud.

I have seen several posts that say "he may have used the flowers to lure her to the door...". I think that I missed something. What flowers? Not those weedy-looking things that the perp pulled out and used to try to cover the camera?

Yes, those.

He didn't take the camera. I think he was startled to see the camera light go on as he approached and just wanted to disconnect it. I'm beginning to think they were at the wrong house.
What is your source for saying he didn't take the camera? My understanding is otherwise.

Michael Feldman touched down in Arizona to support his wife, Savannah Guthrie, as the search for his mother-in-law, Nancy, continues.

The businessman was photographed making his way through the Tucson International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

He held his head high as he was escorted outside by an airport employee.

Yes, those.
If somebody had those in their hand and rang my doorbell, I'd think something was fishy right away. Not like they were some nice bouquet from FTD. :)

No, he was looking to the side rock beds for something when having trouble getting the camera off it appeared, then went back a bit and saw the weeds, grabbed them and tried to use those as 'friction' as his gloves were not doing it, thick and cumbersome and a rubbery material. He was not offering her flowers dressed like that or trying to hide the camera. His face was right in it. IMO

I'm not sure if this is the neighbor who lost power, but this neighbor is a pretty big gemologist and has a public role in the Tucson gemology show. I am beginning to think that perhaps the suspect went to the wrong house.
Would you have a link for this? That could explain "a burglary gone wrong".

the neighbor said her bedroom was on the left side of the house, there is what looks to be a patio door at the front side on the front of the left of the house. Has anyone seen LE dust, etc. Nanos today said they spent 20 hours or so inside the house....did I hear him correctly? I thought they released the house before 20 hours ...Wouldn't you think the dusted for fingerprints on ALL doors and they just showed the one guy go in the one back door today and it did not look like it had been dusted for fingerprint.....don't fingerprint dusting leave a lot of black dust or blue dust behind? Or am I watching too may Forensic Files

But there were no flowers, right? Just the weeds for friction. I am not the poster who said he offered flowers; just saying that those must be the ones seen as flowers.

Especially in the middle of the night. The lantana is a stumper, hard to understand the bad man’s thought process.

Me either, especially at that time of night. And as the homeowner, I'd think that NG would question why someone was standing there with a fistful of whatever from my walkway. I would hope that she at least had a peephole on her door.
