It may be true that APS always comes out in cases like this but, and I don't mean to belabor the point, but the question is not WHY APS was at the scene, but rather why the neighbor called APS.

There would have been no reason to call if LE was already present on the scene. As far as we know, no one knew NG was missing until AG called LE. If the neighbor somehow knew before that, it could make a difference, IMO.

I think we just have to accept the fact that not enough information has been released to make sense of it. Was APS called to conduct a wellness check and so somebody hurried out the door on over to her house right away? My understanding is no, that’s not their mandate.

If NG was the only guest invited to her friend’s house to watch the service then only her friend knew it was concerning when she didn’t show up, and contacted AG accordingly. But iirc there were others present as well. Any one of them might’ve known one of NGs neighbours. We can’t honestly say no one knew NG was missing until AG called LE.

I don’t this business card had anything to do with her kidnapping. But if it did anyone calling APS would surely be equally likely to contact police learning later she was kidnapped with important information to solve NG’s disappearance. Otherwise APS could direct them toward that caller. It’s not as if LE are unaware of the potential connection.

I saw one video where a former police officer said burglars often put one backpack inside another when they are out robbing so that they have 2 backpacks to then fill with the stuff they steal, could be a possibility as to why the backpack looks so stuffed
This would make sense. I physically held the same type of backpack last week when I was at Walmart. It's not very big. A scrunched up backpack would be just about the only thing I could imagine be in a bag that small.

I am perplexed about the amount of information all police agencies are putting out to the public. Why tell everyone about the black gloves? Why tell everyone about the pacemaker tracker on the helicopter? Why not put tents all over the property when doing searches so media people can’t see what’s being done? I’m used to Canadian police who are so tight-lipped for a reason.
I am as nosy as the next person but, I do think some things have been made public in this case that probably shouldn't have been. Like the helicopter tracking the pacemaker signal.

It also depends on what state it is. Florida, for example seems to have a pretty extreme sunshine law. Almost everything about the Caylee Anthony case was public knowledge. All the documents, test results, warrants, reports, you name it. I can also remember random people (one I knew) becoming registered as press for the trial just to more easily get those documents and release them to the public, and going to court every day. Other states are more like what you're used to.

but that maybe one of the reasons NG has not been found, and why they are now struggling to gain any traction when the first vital few days were so poorly executed
Agree. I'm hoping local LE have learned some valuable lessons from this case, for everyone's sake. jmo

Will your tip be the one that helps us find Nancy?

The FBI's National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) has received more than 19,000 tips related to the Nancy Guthrie case since February 1.

Threat intake examiners are working 24/7 to answer calls coming into the 1-800-CALL-FBI tip line and review those submitted at tips.fbi.gov.

FBI reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

I’m not sure all men understand what a masked man means to a woman and why that puts a chill in our soul. MOO

My first thought when I saw those pictures was how Nancy would feel waking up to that person dressed that way, inside her own home in the middle of the night.
It was a horrifying realisation of what she may have gone through :(

Again, listen to what they are not saying. Other than a brief remark from Nanos saying a neighbor called APS, that was it. The link was posted again upthread. That was rather dismissive to me. I think it's not to be ignored. APS card that surfaces on door the day after she is found missing is outside the box. PERHAPS, MY DELUSIONAL, UNHINGED PERP, called APS. He was rescuing NG from her thoughtless daughter..the same thoughtless daughter that has been ignoring his advances and making him pine for attention!! OR, maybe he called APS on Friday, knowing he was going to abduct her over the weekend and thinking he was assuring that her absence would be noticed by APS? Think outside the box. MOO JMO

But technically, that's not a foreign TV channel, that's a US Spanish language channel.
Yes, I was responding to your post saying maybe they don’t watch many news programs from the USA. I thought you were referring to Hispanics living in the Tucson community. jmo

We believe that we may have some DNA there that may be our suspect, but we won’t know that until that DNA is separated, sorted out, maybe admitted to CODIS, maybe through genetic genealogy," Nanos said.

Investigators are now turning to genetic genealogy, which has previously successfully identified other high-profile criminals like the Golden State Killer and University of Idaho murderer Brian Kohberger.

"If I was the kidnapper, I would be extremely concerned right now, because using investigative genetic genealogy, he will be identified," DNA expert CeCe Moore told "TODAY" Thursday.

Authorities, however, are not allowed to use well-known genealogy sites such as Ancestry.com or 23andMe, and will have to rely on publicly available DNA databases to test the DNA. Moore noted that the process may take a while.

"If they have deep roots in the United States, it could be minutes, it could be a few hours," Moore said. "But if it’s somebody who doesn’t have connections to the U.S. in their tree in more recent generations, then it could take much longer."
Great article about how LE separates DNA.

This is in Spanish, but I got that this was at the Cathedral of San Agustin in Tucson. It’s about Ash Wednesday (yesterday), but it seems they also prayed for NG at the service.

This is bad...former Pima County Sheriff rebukes the current sheriff and his mishandling of the Guthrie case.
He's correct. Right from the beginning, why didn't the Sheriff tape off the area where the blood is so obvious? He has flip flopped so many times, and confuses everyone. I am sure the Guthrie family are grateful for the FBI, and they have their own 'investigators' there as well, from what I heard last night. Makes sense. Outlets are referring to 23 and Me as an available geneology source, but that company, which was non profit, sold to a pharmaceutical co.. Those of us who had an account were warned ahead that our info might not be safe going forward, so many removed their accounts and all info from the site. AI:
23andMe has been sold to Regeneron Pharmaceuticals for $256 million, giving the biotech company access to its genetic database of 15 million users.
23andMe, the consumer DNA testing company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier in 2025 following financial struggles and a data breach affecting millions of users. In a bankruptcy auction, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a major biotech firm, acquired nearly all of 23andMe’s core assets, including its Personal Genome Service, Total Health, and Research Services divisions, for $256 million. The acquisition excludes the Lemonaid Health subsidiary, which is being wound down separately.

The deal provides Regeneron with access to 23andMe’s extensive genetic database, which includes data from over 15 million customers. Regeneron plans to use this data to accelerate drug development and personalized medicine research while pledging to uphold privacy standards and ethical oversight. A consumer privacy ombudsman will review the impact on customers, and the transaction requires approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, with the deal expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.

Newsweek+2

While there were reports of Anne Wojcicki’s nonprofit TTAM Research initially bidding for 23andMe, Regeneron ultimately outbid the nonprofit, securing ownership of the company and its data assets. The acquisition ensures that 23andMe continues to operate, with Regeneron committing to maintain the company’s mission of helping people learn about their DNA and health, while also integrating the data into its drug research programs.

Deseret News+3

Customers should be aware that their genetic information is now under the management of a pharmaceutical company, though Regeneron has stated it will adhere to existing privacy policies and consent agreements. This sale marks the end of 23andMe’s independent operations and represents a significant shift in the ownership and use of consumer genetic data.

above snipped by me. He might be right here! He is probably compulsively on multiple internet sites watching what leads are coming in. He may be holed up somewhere, sending ransom notes to TMZ. He craves attention and is enjoying the 24/7 news. . NG just might still be alive. He may be sitting with her, his trophy, and feeling like a child with a new toy. He is waiting for SG to address him again in a video. JMO
Wouldn't be the first time that's happened here at WS.
Abraham Shakespeare's murderer was posting while he was missing.
That is something that I'll never forget.
IMO.
