Apologies if this has already been discussed or asked....but do we know anything about the possibility of NG having work done on her house in the past year or so. Thinking along the lines of building contractors. Any way to look that up online?
There has been suspicion that the roof was recently worked on.

On MONDAY everyone knew she was missing. If something was amiss..the normal person would call LE for a welfare check. She was found missing SUNDAY at noonish. People wouldn't call APS reflexively for a welfare check. Lady left APS card reportedly Monday around 6pm. That's what had been reported here but I don't know if that is accurate. Since NANOS has clearly been asked about this and and addressed it at his news conference, and imo the answer made no sense, ( a neighbor called), when it was already 24/7 on the news, We here that question it, are not out of line JMO
In my experience,, Some people DO call APS when a friend doesn't answer. A "wellness" check is useless in my area because they come once and never again. You could be lying on the floor needing help and too bad. An APS case needs to be closed out with certain steps making sure that even no self-neglect is happening. Nanos said the call was made on the day she went missing. Sunday. If the call was not specified as an emergency, it would not have been prioritized as an emergency, again, IME. The APS worker has a job to do which is check on the call. Which they did and left a card. They have to do their job, doesn't matter what is going on. They have a box to check. Again, IME.

I was pointing out that the CALL could easily have been made before anyone knew she was missing and the APS person just completed their task. No conspiracy, just what they should be doing. It doesn't mean there isn't some weird thing going on, just that on the surface what happened makes sense.

I feel like we were kind of spoiled with AB's show every evening during the week during the Idaho investigation.
There's still reporting going on. Search for Ashleigh Banfield and Brian Entin on YouTube.

Totally agree. Your response was a masterpiece of restraint. The perverse pleasure or ghoulish delight or misplaced expectations by those who want to see or experience their agony or raw emotions is concerning and suggests Roman spectacle and dark entertainment. These are personal decisions, as is paying ransom, and the choices made by the siblings, to me, are beyond our judgment in this forum and frankly in life more generally. This are more than my opinions. They are my deep convictions even as I note that this is most certainly not a course in ethics. Anyway, thank you for the post.
I think some of it comes because of how other cases went as far as family being on tv and making pleas to the press and public. Lacey Peterson's family, Ron Goldman and many other cases families were always looking for every opportunity to speak because that is how THEY felt they could help best. Some cases get no attention at all and families never get to speak, even locally. It is weird to me that some people think there is a cookie cutter way to handle these situations and unless they have been in it they have no idea how they would handle it.

SG being a media personality it has to be so hard and she is probably going to want to go back to work at some point and is probably dreading the backlash of some who will lash out "how dare she go back to work" blah blah blah. In 2026 everyone is an expert on everyone else's lives but are clueless about their own lives, we just have to ignore those types of people. I blame reality tv and this whole celeb worship for making people think they have the RIGHT to know everything about everyone and they want answers NOW.

We have tmz, youtube, instagram, facebook and how many others just putting out things as fact and there is no responsibility to correct errors. (I mean tmz does correct things and they have been much better lately, lots better) I really thought back in the day these sm sites would help so much in solving crimes or obtaining leads but some of them are just grifters who will latch onto any story and spew bs just for hits and to build their channels. Too many of them to even try to call them out and ask them to stop and understand they could be hindering a live person from being found, ugh.

I have a very love/hate relationship with all this sm stuff. Here is where I get the most logical answers and here I will stay. People here may sort of argue and disagree but at the end of the day we all want the victims back with their families and aren't trying to insert ourselves into the stories for our 15 mins, that stuff is so vile.

Please let this coming week be the week the family finally gets their mama back.

When you search for NG's address on Google Maps and look at satellite view it labels her neighbor's house (the gemologist) with her address rather than hers. I think we are allowed to post her address here-- 5820 N Camino Escalante, in case anyone wants to see for themselves.

Did the perpetrator(s) also get the address wrong?

Wow, I looked at street view and am taken aback by how isolated the area appears from the road. There is car height brush along the road everywhere, and you really can’t see the houses. It makes me think unless someone crept into her yard there was no way they parked and studied her movements. A car parked for days would stand out like a sore thumb and would essentially have to be in the driveway to note any movements.

The map appears to be inaccurate, so perhaps Nancy’s house was visible from the road.

These photos from Google Street View highlight the reason for the absense of videos from neighboring houses. From the aerial photo, you can see that only NG's house actually faces the road in front of her house, unlike neighborhoods we are accustomer to in most residential areas. The top right photo is standing in the street, looking directly at NG's...her drive on the right. In her case, her house faces the road, but is almost completely blocked by vegitation. A camera on the house would not catch any useful vehicle information of a car on the road in the dark. The house across the road is elevated and has its back toward NG's and is almost unseen from the street (bottom left photo). A look up and down the street, example bottom right makes it clear just how obscurred from view any street traffic is in this area, compounded by the lack of lighting of any sort. You have to travel a fair distance before you start getting into areas where there are businesses that may have cameras. JMO, given the constraints, I am not surprised by the lack of vehicle info videos, as far as we know.

WOW, very good question! jmo
If they got the wrong address, why did they kidnap Nancy? Why did they send a ransom note to TMZ, an entertainment outlet, on Monday? JMO

  • #36,928
This is my thinking as well. Otherwise, why remove her from her home? They certainly weren't asking for a ransom. (Nobody would wait days to concoct a ransom email.)

In my opinion, this is someone NG recognized. He knew she could and would identify him. Therefore, he took steps to ensure that didn't happen.

My mind keeps returning to the retired FBI Profiler who once stated that if an elderly female, who lives alone, is raped and murdered, it's usually going to be the teenage son of a neighbor.

I'd be investigating that route. MOO.
Call me crazy, but I think the plan was to kidnap her and did. If she died in the house, then they would have left her there.

Is this what you mean? You key in 5820N but the Google view shows 5822N ? I wonder if it's numbered as a double lot though? What address is the neighbor's home supposed to be?
This is street view, I'm referring to satellite view (where you see the roofs of the houses). Nearest neighbor to NG is 5800 and it appears there are only 2 houses on the 5800 block before you hit a perpendicular street...

  • #36,930
This has probably been asked and answered already. I cant seem to find it on any media or on this forum. Why havent LE or FBi conducted any ground searches?
They searched adjacent roads (thus the recovered gloves) and overhead air searches- there is a lot of cactus so....

Interesting thought but I'm not a fan of the gem show theory. Burglaries statistically happen during day time so they can verify that the homeowner is gone/house is empty. And they are skiddish and quick like cats. They choose the path of least resistance because the main objective is to get in and get out.

Lantana man shows the exact opposite of that in the footage. Gloved and masked up to be prepared to commit serious crime, dismantles cameras, moves slowly. He also walks up to the front of the house where there's clearly a metal door in front of another door which would be a considerable task to gain entry to if you're looking for a quick robbery. Unless he's a formidable lock picker.

Per APS vs Wellness Check:

I have had wellness checks called on me because my ex thought I was kidnapped by my brother's motorcycle gang. 2 LE came at 2 am and banged on my door and shined lights in my window until I could wake up and get dressed. 4 times.

Unless the neighbor suspected NG was being abused APS had no reason to show up. It doesn't make sense.

I had this happen with the aforementioned ex. APS came out and interviewed the caregivers. They knew they were coming and when. They don't just show up and leave a card like a landscaper. Calling APS is serious as is WChecks.

I would think APS would have to CTA if NG didn't answer the door.

Is it normal to call APS instead of the police? I’ve been involved in a couple of wellness checks, and the police were called both times. Calling an elderly service never entered our minds.

Like a young Cesar baron. Only found out about him recently through an episode of evil lives here.

No, weirdly enough when you search the adjacent house's address, it doesn't show any address over NG's house even though every other house in the neighborhood shows an address. I don't know what to make of it, but, to me, it seems like wrong house/wrong burglary makes the most "sense" when combined with the known facts of the case.
I’m guessing that the family asked for this since she’s the mother of a celeb/wealthy person. ? Like some houses are blurred out on Zillow.

Very well said, thank you! The business card is a non-issue which keeps resurfacing from some who want to implicate a neighbor in a crime. I even saw at least one post pondering if it could have been the perp leaving it??? It's clear to most everyone that the card was left as a prospective resource to help Nancy in the event she needed assistance as an older lady. There's no mystery about it and it's been addressed over and over, thus, redundant to bring it up again and again.
MOO
I agree. Total non-issue. Perhaps it's a matter of wanting at least one thing explained in a case where so much remains unresolved, but IMO the case is not going to be solved by any details related to that APS business card.

There's a reason "get rid of the body" is a trope.

Currently, this case is still a missing person's no other official crime has been filed. First thing I could see some low level criminal doing if they accidentally killed her --which is a good possibility-- is "oh my god, man, she's dead. We've got to get rid of the body." And if they were prepared to remove her alive, they could remove her deceased.

Not too hard to do in the vast desert and even nearby washes, and would get rid of definitive evidence of a greater crime. The actual searches conducted were minimal given the surrounding area (and time frame before being declared missing.

Uh, how many people were detained on February 13?

Initial reporting from Fox News after the SWAT activity said 3 people were detained in connection to the execution of that search warrant and one person was detained in a traffic stop of a Range Rover in connection to that search warrant, but it wasn't clear if that was supposed to be 3 total or 4 total. I took it to mean 3, but a later update of that article refers to the Range Rover driver and "Three other people detained at a nearby home", implying 4 total people. A later update of that article says "Officials on Saturday confirmed to Fox News Digital the FBI was executing a federal search warrant at a house in the Catalina foothills, with four people detained and later released." (Fox News)

NewsNation said "three people were detained at two scenes" a man and woman at a house and a man in a vehicle (presumably the Range Rover) that was "reportedly" headed toward the house. I can't find a tweet from him supporting this, but people on the thread reported NewsNation's Brian Entin, who was live reporting from the house, witnessed the man and woman coming out. (NewsNation)

Now though, MikeRReports is saying "Two men have been detained in the case and released without charges." The first is CP, the delivery driver from Rio Rico who was detained while driving on February 10th (KATV). The second matches LD, who has come forward and identified as having been detained on February 13, and whose mother was detained (ABC News). It is not made explicit, but since it was LD's home and LD's mom at the home, it seems implied that he was one of the people detained at the home.

In any case, MikeRReports says two men total, but we know of one man on Feb. 11 (CP), and two men on Feb. 13 (one at the house and one at the Range Rover)--that's three men, not to mention Fox's reporting that three people were detained at the home on Feb 13 (though if that person wasn't a man, they wouldn't be included in MikeRReports's tweet on detained men....) And in this thread I've seen lots of people refer to LD as the Range Rover driver, but I have no idea where that's coming from either. Since LD's statement refers to LD and his mother being detained, and we know a man and woman were detained at the house, it seems most likely that LD was detained as the house and the RR driver has yet to be identified

As they say, the math ain't mathing....
However many there were, they must have been released since no one has been charged. MOO

We don't know if the ransom note was from the actual people who took Nancy. These are just theories but they could have kidnapped her because when they couldn't find the gems they thought would be there, they threatened her and she said something like, "my daughter has money-- she will pay you not to hurt me!" Or maybe they took her thinking she was a member of the gemologist's family and planned to send a ransom note to him, then discovered she was actually not related to him at all and they were in way over their heads.
