I apologize if I missed discussion on this but has there been any information about the light to the right side when the masked man is covering the camera with the flowers?

I took a screenshot from an Instagram video but its a little blurry. It's clearly visible when you watch any of the videos. It almost looks like a phone. Is someone coming out the door?

A piece of Lantana maybe?

I am reminded of the Isabel Celis case. Everyone honed in on the family, especially her dad. In the end it was a man who had come to the Celis' family's door months earlier inquiring about a car at the side of their house to see if they were selling it. It is believed that he saw little Isabel when the family came to the door.
Months later he took Isabel from her bedroom in the middle of the night/early morning.

Not accusing but just thinking that it could be that this perp is related to one of the helpers that Nancy had around her house. Housekeeper, gardner, pool man? Maybe someone's brother or son came with them to Nancy's house one day - perhaps to pick up a paycheck? Just speculating because that is all we can do right now - until we have more information.
That's quite interesting. Somehow I have never heard of that case.

But it makes you think, too, of someone hatching a plan as you say, simply by having been in the house, or even overhearing talk from someone who had.

The question is: If this is the case (and it certainly well could be) what are some of the ways this connection could be discovered?

I'm curious if there are instances of the reporter referring to NG since February 2nd and if the same use of past tense was present.
I believe some people use t
The "was" referred specifically to NG. I'm going to assume it was a slip up for now, but it has been reported to authorities just to be safe. I am not comfortable sharing the information here at this time.

If I need to delete my prior messages, I am happy to do so. I'll report my own post just in case. MOO.
I believe that people may use is/was interchangeably, without much thought, in the instance of someone missing. It's hard to explain but I feel was could be said in the context of feeling they were here, now they're gone, and I don't know where or why. MOO

Question for all WSers...

Which do you think is more likely - finding NG will lead to finding the perp(s) or finding the perp(s) will lead to finding NG?
Finding the perp will lead to finding Nancy.

That is why I was inquiring about the DNA. Would the DNA be a mixture because it is a partial match to a relative of a worker?
Even so, I guess there would have to be somebody else's DNA mixed with it to be a mixture, right? BE said it wasn't Nancy's.

As the investigation goes on I imagine that they are expanding out from Nancy's inner circle. Sheriff cleared the siblings and their spouses. I am sure that they would be questioning the workers relatives too and not just stopping at questioning the workers.

This theory fits too for why the perp would take her from the home. Either for Bitcoin ransom because of Savannah's wealth or because Nancy may have recognized him and/or his accomplice (if he had one.)

Snipped for emphasis:

I sure hope so.

Sheriff Nanos said at the February 2nd presser...

"She has house staff that comes by takes care of the yard, whatever, that in her house and that."

Could the DNA be a mixture because it is partially matching someone's buccal swab DNA that was already taken and submitted into evidence from Nancy's family, friends, workers?

Btw, I need DNA for dummies. I don't know much about it.
I’ve wondered about that too but I think that if there were two people in the mix and they knew the DNA of one then creating a DNA profile from the remaining DNA would be less complicated. I’m leaning toward it being two or more unknowns.

One thing that troubles me is yes, Nancy had help, but oftentimes landscapers and tradesmen hire day laborers who aren't on the books. LE may not have the complete picture of everyone who worked at the home.

That makes sense.

With 400 officers working around the clock on this - I would hope so.
True. Good to keep in mind.

When I remember Sheriff Nanos saying it could take months to solve the DNA issues, I can't help hoping that someone will talk which would lead to at least having a specific person to investigate.

Hopefully LE can ask workmen about that. They should keep some records of the people they hired. Don't you think?

Here’s a link to an AB podcast where she interviews CeeCee Moore the genetic genealogist from Parabon Labs. She really explained the mixed DNA.

That's scary. How would they track them down? I hope they are successful with the DNA but let's just say it is an undocumented worker would they even be able to track them via DNA or genealogy?
I read that there are undocumented workers who cross the border everyday to work and then go back across the border in the evening after work.

Thanks. I watched it earlier this evening. CeeCee is awesome.
I wished AB would have asked her opinion about the doormat and the lantana.

Timestamp: 19:00 - is why I don't think the doormat would have been helpful in this case.

I'm not sure, but they may not be too keen to admit to LE and a federal agency that they're skirting labor and immigration laws. Even if investigators say they don't care, I'm not sure there's enough trust in the current environment for the workers to believe that.

I just feel the need to elaborate because I realize this can be a touchy subject. I know that a day laborer could be anyone - not necessarily an undocumented worker but we can't ignore that could be an option because Nancy lived so close to the border.

To me Lantana man looks like he could be Caucasian, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern. So the net is wide.

Right now, I gather that the borders are pretty much closed to people coming from other countries. At the moment, I think most undocumented people would already live here. (I mean, new people still enter the U.S., but I don't think they're likely to commute back and forth.)

Of course, if an undocumented person, or a U.S. citizen, had committed a crime in the US, they might flee to Mexico.

My guess is that Lantana man is at least a resident of the U.S. I mean, he appears to do some of his shopping at or from Walmart....

Right, it's just one of many avenues that need to be explored. The only ones we absolutely know did NOT do it are the Guthrie siblings and their spouses. Who knows, it could end up being a neighbor or the relative of one. I feel like everything's on the table until there's an arrest.

I did find this...

"Mexicans come across to shop at Safeway and Walmart."

I don't know when this was published and I agree that this would be less feasible due to the current climate at the border.
