I’m sure she has knives in the house
True. But there's been no suggestion of anything like that inside the house. I believe some source suggested that any blood evidence in the house was very much like the pattern outside by the front door.

If she did somehow die at the scene (I don't believe this is the case), a simpler explanation is that they just thought it would be harder for the crime to be solved with no body. JMO

I'm glad they're emphasizing that it's not cold, but man... I am surprised that it's day 23 and still unsolved. When this first broke, I really did hope that Nancy would be found well within the first few days. Sad it's been over 3 weeks now with nothing. 😞

This is an Arizona case. If it goes to trial, it will be the jurors of Arizona who convict or not, and the penalty will be decided by Arizona Law. jmo

Has everybody written off both Swat raids as two mistaken raids? Two mistakes in a case that the world is watching unfold? Not likely
There's a couple of explanations I can think of off the top of my head

1. They had some bit of evidence that pointed them towards the people in those raids that has since then proven to be unreliable or misinterpreted

2. They initially thought she was still alive and were OK with risking the optics of a bunch of fruitless raids but have since come to the conclusion she is deceased so there is less urgency and no need to rush into raids on tenuous leads

I guess... C and his attorney are insisting that he's innocent and have given multiple interviews now. Brian Entin just interviewed his attorney. Deliveryman Who Was Detained, Released in Nancy Guthrie Case Held For 5 Hours

I was more hopeful with LD but it's been ten days now and nothing has come of it, so I'm not sure anymore. LD and his attorney are also insisting he's innocent.

I don't think it would take LE *that* long to determine whether they were involved, but who knows. I do wonder what LE found on both of them to determine it was worth a raid.

I'm on board with all of this but not twice. I can't see that. These were military operations. There's fire there somewhere.

I'm wondering if the Sheriff will address any of the rumors after BEs interview. I don't get the feeling that porch guy is either of those two men but I think at least one is involved somehow. LD is a good physical match except the lips. His lifestyle also aligns with it. We know he's armed, at times anyways.

Yes, we know crimes take time to solve; however these enumerated points below are why I thought this would be quick:

1. The victim was elderly with health issues and presumably possibly still alive.
2. It was thought to be possibly an abduction for ransom, and family was able to pay.
3. The victim was the mother of a famous and wealthy news celebrity on a major station, abducted from a prestigious neighborhood.
4. The President, a senator, FBI, major media were on the case immediately.
5. Advanced technology and surveillance are available in 2026.

Agreed.

It is truly sad and baffling that a case with this much manpower and national attention could still go unsolved for so long... of course I want all unsolved cases to be remedied, but truly shocking and frustrating that one with this much awareness and resources could lose steam so fast 😞

I do truly hope that they have leads or ideas behind the scenes that we're not privy to.

That's the biggest hope at this juncture.

I keep thinking about the photo someone posted of the perps glove that possibly depicted a ring. I think it was the persons right hand but I could be mistaken.

Anyway, married people wear wedding ring on the left hand. So what type of ring would a man wear on his right hand? A collegiate ring? Some type of ring to symbolize a relationship? A promise ring? An antique family ring?

Just random thinking here.
Or was the video image mirrored?

Why hasn't there been a mass coordinated search of the area with volunteers such as in other high profile cases? Is that a no go for LE in Arizona?

Exactly. But will tough on crime rhetoric discourage the perp from coming forward, especially given the family’s gentle messaging? Any historical examples to learn from here?

I wouldn't call them mistakes as much as long-shots. Apparently Carlos the delivery driver may have pinged in her area while delivering and fits the description (as do most average men in the greater Tucson area).

Luke was a felon that lived 2 miles away from NG, also matched the description. They did impound the Range Rover and we are still awaiting on something definitive there so who knows?

A lot of the leads in this case appear to be working the little data points we know. (Walmart exclusive backpack, gun store purchase checks, suspects in the area that fit a vague description, testing random gloves found roadside that visually fit the description). Hopefully they hit on something or have more behind the scenes.

Yeah, Sheriff's office tweeted basically asking people not to search.

I don't know if I agree... I don't think they should be searching directly at Nancy's or on the private property of her neighbors' (or private property in general.) But I could see it being helpful if they could search some of the nearby desert, as long as they can do so safely and carefully. It is very easy to miss things in the desert, and more eyes could be useful. Sadly I wouldn't be surprised if the perp dumped her in the surrounding desert somewhere.

I don’t know, good thought tho. I just remembered there were conversations about the bump possibly being a ring on his finger. Now in my case it’s possible one of my arthritic knuckles would look odd in a glove. But I don’t think the perp is afflicted with gnarly fingers yet.

Does anyone else think it strange a legit ransom note would be sent to a news agency? Has this been done before (as an opening salvo)? I would think the kidnappers would not want the publicity and police/FBI involvement.

The Nest camera was on the left-hand side of the door which matches what we see in the video, so not mirrored

I looked at the video and the finger. I’m not sure there was a pinky ring. But that’s just me. I am not at all sure the eyebrows were manicured. Some people just have beautiful brows. And some men and women have beautiful curly lashes. I do agree it could be a neighbor but it would be tough to hide Nancy. Those homes are expensive in that area. So the only reason would be ransom and that is sort of ruled out. I still believe it was a grudge of some kind.
I just revisited these pictures.

Given how tight the gloves are, I agree that there either
1. isn't a ring (if it was on his pinky I think you would see more of the band through the tight plastic gloves) or
2. there's a ring on his right ring finger and what we're seeing in the security cam footage is the top right/corner of the ring, the side of which is blocked by the pinky

I can't imagine a perp taking enough care to put on a full-body disguise and not thinking to take a ring off, especially since non-wedding rings on a man may draw attention. If this is a ring the perp wore every day, it's likely that people in his life know that about him and, even if he disposes of it or stops wearing it, people would notice that it was gone.

If we're going the ring route, though, my guesses are
- family heirloom (probably a signet ring)
- college class ring (still a signet style)
- Oura ring, specifically one that's spun to the side (would be crazy to wear an oura ring while committing a crime, IMO)
- professional ring (like Canadian engineers - not sure if other fields have this as well)

I hope LE has a better grasp on this case than we do. It all seems so strange, and poor Nancy and her family are stuck in the middle of it.

I definitely think there was more to the second raid. Considering there is a possible (rumored) family connection with the Range Rover driver’s girlfriend and NG, that girlfriend was arrested a few days after the SWAT raid, and the fact that the Range Rover is still in LE’s possession, I’m hopeful there’s much more happening behind the scenes involving LD.

I’d be willing to believe the first raid in Rio Rico was completely a false lead.
