In our theory constructs, have we ever considered an over-the-road truck driver with a dedicated east/west I-10 route?

JMO.
He would probably have to be based in Tuscon. 18 wheelers cannot be left just anywhere. Likewise the 18 wheeler serves as the trucker's only transportation while on the road. Even having just the tractor (truck part) can be pretty problematic in regards to parking.

So, he would have needed to leave the truck, walk to the home, kidnap the victim, then walk back to the truck. In the end, the walking component and difficulty of parking a truck may make the scenario less likely.

If you follow the link to the ABC15 report, you might be able to get a screenshot of the two side by side. The page jumps around too much for me to even attempt to a screenshot.

Can you sleuthers tell if it’s the same suspect in both shots?

So this creep got dressed up in this crazy getup AT LEAST twice? And then STILL wasn’t prepared for the nest cam? But has also managed to cover his tracks for 3 weeks?

This case gets weirder and weirder.

However, all this speaks to someone who may be more organized and “with it” than most of us thought. NG was most definitely his target and he planned to take her from the house.

Ransom note suddenly seeming a lot more real…. MOO

If true, this leaves little doubt that Nancy was in fact the intended victim and that it wasn't a 'wrong house' type of scenario. As such, we can throw the 'gem show neighbor' theory out.

This also confirms that the house was cased at least sometime in advance, so likely not some druggie or impulsive type looking for a quick fix. Rather, it gives credence to the idea of careful planning, which makes a stronger case for kidnapping for ransom or kidnapping for revenge (i.e. an aggrieved fan of some sort).

It may even mean he knew about the camera ahead of time but thought a Wifi jammer or something disabled it.

This also means that the appearance by him with gear on isn't necessarily after the crime had already been committed.

This also means that he could've committed the kidnapping alone and wasn't necessarily opening the door after the fact. (Although still some logistical and potential strength hurdles to overcome if solo).

I'm sure there are lots of other things it means once we parse it out, but still significant news is true.

JMO.
Thank you for this good list and critique of current theories.

The image with no backpack was taken before the suspected abduction of Nancy Guthrie. Source declines to pinpoint the date, citing the open investigation.

Authorities have alternately asked for neighbors to check their home security systems for the entire month of January, the night of Jan. 11, and the hours surrounding Guthrie’s disappearance, between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

This indicates that whatever data the FBI and Google accessed to recover the missing video included more than just the final event in her camera’s memory.

This takes me back to my original theory. This is likely a neighbor's teenage son. NG's body is probably not that far from her house.
I always did think he looked very young...

Maybe it was the the evening before and NG hadn’t been dropped off yet so he had to come back later.

All imo

Interesting he had the same outfit both times. Indicates this was planned and he had an "abduction costume" he planned to use.

If Nancy did see and watch the Nest notification the next morning who would she have been most likely to contact first?

Perfectly worded. Thinking about how strange the ransom notes were (why so late? Who goes to the media? Who would send a random note without proof life?)

All this combined is like someone who watched one too many B grade action movies and went from there.

I have a question for the sleuthers. Let’s just pretend for a moment that there is NO ransom ( faux or real)

If we look at this from the angle that there is nothing else known other than NG last seen approximate timeline, potential POIs raids , recovered Nest doorbell video, and the immediate family being publicly cleared …. What do you see, believe, or feel? Take away motive… what’s the intent?
If ransom isn't real, then political/ideological motivation would be my theory.
