I could be wrong, but I think the Cajun Navy generally waits to be invited or at least okayed by LE when they search.

Assuming someone from the Navy was at NG’s last night working with LE to get some details to help their search — I wonder what they told SG and family based on their experience in similar cases.

SG video is heartbreaking. I worry the large reward indicates LE is not much closer to cracking this. This is the second SG video meant for the public (vs a specific person or profile of a specific person). The first was around the time the best videos/pics were released.

This video is so raw. I’m not sure what exactly is it, but it seems so much more raw than the others. No “code”, cryptic messages, etc.

I think it is because she is speaking to the public and yes to her fans but the public - different tone - more from the heart - no need to be careful of the words she uses. The other vids were pleas to the kidnappers - she’s a pro and knows different audiences require different approaches. I hope this leads to them finding NG for the family. They will get back to wanting the perps caught and punished in due time but at this time finding NG is top priority.

And asking for a friend , I SWEAR I saw other pictures the first day these were released, but I didn't bother to download because I thought I could do it later. But when I went back, those images I thought I had seen were gone. Does anyone else recall seeing other images back at the beginning?

Yes, I saw the non back pack image from the beginning, plus the backpack images. Originally we thought, he put backpack down for a bit, or a second person. Now discussion is back on about all this.
Anyway, now we know he was casing the place, either earlier in the evening or maybe Jan 11.
Plus, maybe more times not shown yet! Getting more info, getting closer!

I stopped believing this sheriff a long time ago. He says things and contradicts them the next day.
He has shown virtually no urgency from day one.
Once the FBI got involved he’s behaved like a petulant child. I know he probably can’t, but the AZ governor ought to remove him from the case.

When it comes to how LD could be such a mess when he had loving parents, well, we’ve all seen this all over Websleuths and in the news.

As a NYC teacher of 8th graders for 25 years, I truly appreciate this post.

Although I didn’t enter their homes, I did meet with parents constantly.

Some of the most obstreperous kids had the most loving and well-off parents, with excellent careers.

Conversely, some of the students who most prized their education came from homes of full neglect.

That’s when the school would send men or women like you to their homes.

One of my favorite students at 13 years old was an awesome child, but in his 20s was involved in the George Smith murder on a cruise ship.

You just never know.

I actually taught for a few years before I joined LE. My school was in a large urban area on the poorest side of town. All the kids were on equal footing economically. You could almost always tell the kids whose parents cared by the way they showed up for school each morning; clean, alert, polite, and homework complete. The other kids were more apt to be tired, sometimes hungry, sometimes angry or disrespectful. Sometimes ashamed.
It wasn’t money that made the difference. It was the care, support, and love of the parent or guardian.

Not everyone wears wedding rings on the left hand. The following countries wear wedding rings on their right hand: Germany, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Latvia, India, Venezuela, and Peru.

Yes, I think you're right, @aafromaa. Good point. The others had a kind of scripted sound, but this one seemed like she was determined to speak in her own way and say what she and the family truly feel.

I feel like the man breaking into Nancy's house has a left shoulder injury that hasn't been surgically repaired yet. His left shoulder sits low and he doesn't seem to swing that arm when he walks.

That is a very normal and expected posture for a gross motor dominant arm.

It clearly said the rumors are false. The LE are not going to allow a body to just float until helpers like the Cajun Navy comes in. FBI has divers. The report also said this was not in PIMA county.

The case seems to have gone pretty quiet after the chaos of a few weeks ago - hopefully this much bigger reward encourages somebody to come forward.

I do think this unfortunately is a recovery operation rather than a live missing persons investigation.

I feel so sorry for NG's family. To see the pictures of the kidnapper, and know the terror their Mom probably felt in her own home.

Hopefully, this will get some movement on a rescue/recovery.

So many questions here. Primary to me, are women who live alone in the area unsafe? Is this just the beginning of some strange serial killer who preys on elderly women?
