Law enforcement changing their position on offering a reward is not a positive sign for the state of the investigation.

The amount of tips has not been an issue, but the quality is obviously lacking.

The danger here is that this encourages more of the same, but obviously they believe the upside outweighs that risk.

This never had anything to do with the family’s willingness to pay. It’s strategy, plain and simple.
Oh zero doubt. They are trying to shake the trees and see if they can get something to fall out.

I actually tested my Nest doorbell camera last night-- with my porch light off and approaching from the side of the house, I couldn't see the pinpoint green light that indicates a camera is there until I was within 2 feet of the camera, which is also when the doorbell light indicator that is much bigger than the pinpoint light comes on. It still registered "person seen" and sent me a notification of myself, but I couldn't tell there was a camera there. I don't think he saw the camera the first time.

Also if her old doorbell is still connected to the 40v that powers doorbells, it may light up at night, so he may have seen that and thought 'no doorbell camera.'
Thank you @cathathorse ! I've been mulling this very thing. The alcove entrance to NG's front door is very deep and dark. An old-school design (70s,80s). Porch lights were not on, so the space is like a cave in the dark. Just passing by, an intruder wouldn't notice the Camera or if it looked like a lighted doorbell, he may have ignored it. So was No-Backpack Guy scouting, thought he saw something? Then Backpack Guy returns with a light to check further and then disable? Backpack Guy enters the alcove slowly, knowing he may be caught on camera but unsure until he gets close to the Cam. (Even though they may be same guy.) -- I believe the alcove is key.

The backpack concerns me. Why would anyone just toss one out a door or window?
If the criminal went to extremes to hide himself, it's doubtful he would leave a backpack or a glove behind. And, he probably no longer has any of his items. Best would be to burn them.

Front porch guy did strike me as calm but he seemed to be almost enjoying himself.

Making this public is another dig at sheriff EGO

IMO he's been less than co-operative so they're saying Bye out loud

Nanos oughta start practicing his goodbyes IMO (and I've been saying it for weeks) He's done!

Probably has more has more to do with the President's involvement in the case, imo.

That's an amazing point..does the US have nextdoor or similar, I know it's often more popular with the older or not so internet savvy. I hate to tarnish everyone older, some are much better at tech than me!
You mean the SM app?

Yes. Where I live, it is basically is limited to surrounding neighborhoods unless you add more neighborhoods. I'm sure there is chatter on ND because it seems that whenever there is a dog lose or someone weird at a door etc, it gets posted on ND.

I'm not a fan of the app.

However, I'm sure they are chattering on ND in Tucson. I would assume LE is monitoring.

I feel at this point in time the only really great tip can come from someone who was peripherally involved with the crime and wants to be granted immunity. The rest would just be people speculating.

I'm so confused about his missing face and feet. What causes that?

I believe OP was referencing Sheriff's handling as shameful and am sure it was not aimed at family.

Read again. They didnt even know it had been taped.

Said its about time.

Why not fenced from the first.

The family was in possession since the 3rd.

What they did or didnt do is none of our business.

all imo

Doesn't it seem like BE received info or has heard rumors about somebody wanting to divulge something? Why did he discuss legalities of possessing that knowledge?

My opinion only…Savannahs family is only worried about getting their mom home. The fbi/sheriff are trying to find the ppl who did this. Even if the fbi/sheriff dept find who they say did it, Guthries probably won’t know where their mom is. I’m sure the kidnapper isn’t gonna spill the beans on himself, even if he was only an accomplice. This is a surer way to get their mom back, a reward of a million dollars. The police can work on who did it

Not saying it is related. But a neighbor lost her temper with searchers and wrongly accused them of filming her house. It was a crazy over reaction. Maybe people are fried. Not a normal reaction. JMO. The searchers were on a public road.
What exactly is a normal reaction after three weeks of this insanity? This is why to me having random searchers wandering around neighborhoods “helping” could cause additional frustration to people already unnerved by these terrible events and probably indeed losing patience with the cameras and crews and gawkers and searchers. MOO.

I'm glad to read that the United Cajun Navy is searching because family and friends asked them to. MOO
The linked article says the family hadn’t requested this.

Can you give exactly what he said and link it?

Good catch. The linked article includes this disclaimer:
Note: An earlier version of this story stated that the United Cajun Navy was assisting in the search at the request of family and friends. This has been corrected to reflect the local volunteer effort.

The searchers were on a public road. Not filming . She went ballistic. Accused them wrongly . Then drove off
