MOO Scenario I'm thinking a lot about (likely covered before but...)

Perp is a burglar.. Semi-pro. Cases houses. Knows the type of target he's looking for (easy entry, no monitored cams, vulnerable residents). Typical psttern: Stalks in cover of night. Breaks in, looks around, takes what he wants, leaves without confrontation but ready just in case. Has been in prison before. Knows how to limit dna transfer. Moves around.

During break-in at Nancy's, he's in. Looking around. Sees a familiar face in photos. Can't believe it. Decides impromptu to take the most valuable item in the home. Takes a bit of time thinking thru his plan. Wakes her. Takes her. She fights a bit. Bundles her in car. Still alive. But she passes soon naturally. No meds, extreme stress. Perp still tries to go thru with ransom. Might have engaged with a technoperp met in prison. Nancy buried a ways away. Both perps going thru typical routine now. Car has been cleaned. Likely no more communications coming. They realize they can't prove they have her so no one will pay.

If something like this happened we can only hope one perp will confess and turn in the other. Or that dna match still possible.

Hopefully FBI has checked into the possibility that it could be a real mask under the ski mask and they have looked into purchases from places like CreaFx, who manufactures and sells these otherwise pretty cool inventions. These masks aren't cheap ($1000+), so the private purchase pool would be pretty small, particularly in that general area. This mask from them looks eerily similar, IMO. Promo videos of it being fitted and worn can be found on YT/social media.

I know we have theorized two things: use stickiness of plant to get a "grip" or use lantana to goofily block the cameras view.

I believe that he uses the lantana stems to stick into the camera removal hole!

-> Before he grabs the lantana, he scans the ground by the porch- he's looking for something and lantana wasn't necessarily his first choice.
-> Google nest cameras have a little hole for a key. This would explain why some of the lantana was stuck in the bracket because he was actively shoving the plant matter into the bracket.
-> If he was just using the plant as a calling card or some blocking ruse he would hold it in front of the camera, not push lantana behind the bracket.

Now there are a flaw with this idea- if he is the same guy who cased the place a couple days or week before- you'd think they come prepared with a tool of some sort to deal with the camera. Also I don't know if lantana stems are strong enough to perform this action.

This case was a highly planned out and most definitely targeted kidnapping for ransom in order to specifically extort big money from Savannah Guthrie who had the means to pay six million dollars for the return of her mother.

It was/ is a very sophisticated kidnapping for ransom in several ways.
It was without a doubt NOT a burglary or sexual crime.
It was not a vendetta against Savannah per se, she was simply targeted for her wealth
and for the fact that it was public knowledge that she was close to her mother who lived in Tucson.

Both NBC and Savannah realize (after the fact) that they contributed to the fact that Nancy was targeted. In Savannah’s case she will need to forgive herself for the sake of her own health and for those who love her and need her.

I think that ransom notes sent to TMZ and such were possible duplicates of the same note sent earlier to local law enforcement and/or to NBC for Savannah’s attention- just not disclosed as such.
After no acknowledgment of the earliest note(s), the kidnappers cast a wider net to be sure their important note wasn’t ignored - hence TMZ and local news stations.
The earliest note was legitimately attached to this kidnapping and these kidnappers meant business. No further contact, no negotiations for less than six million dollars.
This was definitely NOT a one man operation.

I will reiterate that it is my belief that this kidnapping was masterminded by people who may be local but definitely have connections south of the border - which is 90 minutes by car from Nancy’s home.
I think Nancy was well into Mexico many hours before the alarm was raised by her friends when she missed their get-together for virtual church worship.

Statistically Mexico has tens of thousands of kidnappings for extortion/ ransom yearly.
One could even say it has a kidnapping culture.

The original note was not written by AI but was analyzed as composed by a non native English speaker.
Thereby the original sharp focus on Savannah’s brother in law who was subsequently and rightfully fully cleared.

The biggest clue by far in this case is the porch videos.
Law enforcement should be commended for extracting those videos.
I don’t think there was any extra masking to hide features.
The facial hair in the video matches copious numbers of locals, copious numbers of gentlemen from south of the border and almost half of the US men’s hockey team that just won gold in the Olympics.
In other words, these aren’t unique features.

I don’t think Nancy had a working burglar alarm. Perps would have checked for that before breaking in the night of the abduction.

How is this kidnapping sophisticated?
1) legitimate ransom note is untraceable- very very advanced computer skills on behalf of perps
2) crypto account for ransom also untraceable - would have been abandoned after authorities deposited their “dusting” money into the account
3) no traceable vehicle that Nancy was abducted in to date
4) no mistakes like “knife sheath” left on scene
5) meticulous planning to assure perps are not identified

I don’t believe these sophisticated perps tossed their black gloves out their truck/van window. Nothing will come of any of the gloves.

I think the kidnappers have covered their tracks/ disposed of/ burned the kidnapping vehicle, disposed of/ burned all clothing and accessories seen in the porch video/ disposed of/ burned Nancy’s body. They have abandoned anything that could tie them via DNA to Nancy- possibly even burned down the remote ranch house where they were holding Nancy.

I think that in time, the FBI will determine which group planned this sophisticated, targeted kidnapping but there will be no evidence to prosecute anyone involved.

I think that the group involved in taking Nancy has carried out numerous successful extortions/ kidnappings for ransom in the past and that this one was the culmination of their past experiences and their brazenness in raising the bar to a much higher bounty.

I don’t think that this will be their last kidnapping or that they will necessarily lay low for any amount of time.

I think these kidnappers truly thought that they had a good chance of obtaining six million dollars from Savannah and that they are disappointed/ angry/frustrated that their well thought out plan didn’t bear fruit this time.

I think their wheels are already spinning towards other possible targets that may bear fruit.

Nonetheless, I’m still joining Savannah in praying for a miracle and my heart truly aches for all of Nancy’s loved ones.

This is where I'm landing these days. I find it plausible that she happened to see drugs (or something else illegal) in a handyman's car and the big boss ordered him to take care of all "loose ends," which in their mind would include NG. The sad part is she probably didn't even realize that she saw or heard was significant. JMO.

Latest I read there were already 750 tips for the $1million reward. Obviously, they are not for the same person. People will turn on anyone, so it seems, for money.

In order to get the money, I would imagine it can't be an anonymous tip. That would stop someone. PLUS, the money is waaayyyy down the line. Apprehension, Arrest, conviction. Not sure money will be the prime motivator. Calling in AND giving the name of the perp anonymously whether there is money involved or not takes courage and the belief that you must do the right thing. Money aka REWARD would not motivate me. I hope others would feel the same way. JMO

That it's somebody connected to Nancy. Either a worker who spent time at the property or a relative of a neighbor/acquaintance. The people who directly knew Nancy may not even have intentionally set her up. I could see a roofer shooting the breeze with friends after work, telling them they were at the house of someone with a famous daughter. It wouldn't take much to get the wheels turning.

This gave me the chills, because I think this is spot on.

We have a neighbor who is in his mid 60's. Lived here all his life and lives with his elderly mom (she is mid 80's) in the house he grew up in. He's a bit rough around the edges, to put it mildly, but pretty much harmless (I think). He's one of these "self employed handymen" who do jobs here and there for locals. He often tells us (unsolicited) about plumbing jobs he had to go back to because the sink he installed "leaked little bit and now she's all upset." You get the picture.

He's one of those people who talk loud and offer a consistent stream of unsolicited advice and love an audience more than anything else. We have all likely met the type.

Here's the tie in to what you wrote. Every now and then he is asked to help out as part of a larger work crew as a laborer for a local legitimate contractor on a high end job. Every time this happens he (again, unsolicited) tells everyone who will listen about every minute detail of the house. Whose it was. What he saw inside. How fancy the place was. All of it.

I will hear the same (long) story 5-6 times between him showing up in our yard to tell us about it, him on the phone walking around his yard yelling into the speakerphone to tell whoever he's talking to all about it, and then him telling the story to a bunch of buddies while they all get hammered in the garage (again, he has one volume: full). I can only assume he tells it other times too.

Here's a guy who just wants to feel important and wants to share that he got to meet and work on ______'s home. In his mind, he's trying to impress you. He means no harm (probably). But he associates with some people who give me the creeps just meeting them for 2 minutes. What wheels start to spin in their heads? Who knows.

OR they tell people they know, to impress them that their buddy worked on ________'s house.

I can absolutely see this type of scenario unfolding here.

That’s what I’m wondering. I know there’s limited cases where they can. They’ve been in charge of the ransom note, so maybe that is connected and/or they’ve determined it’s kidnapping across state lines.
