That dude didn't do this. Doesn't have the confidence.
JMO.
Totally agree, 400 FBI was a bad look. I think the FBI thought they would swoop in, solve case, save the day! But since it’s dragged on, I’m glad they went back to Phoenix. I’m sure the Sheriff or FBI will solve this over time. JMOI agree. And having 400 agents assigned to this case??? I feel badly for all the other people with missing loved ones who get maybe 1 or 2 (maybe 5 or 6) people assigned to their case.
That was my first thought. He's too hefy. Add multiple layers on him and he'd be twice the size of PG. I don't think the features match either. The lips are too thin, and I still contend PG looks more Middle Eastern than he does Hispanic or White. MOO.
I think he likes it just the way it is right now. There was lots of publicity for the first month, now FBI left, Sheriff not interviewing much.Fair enough but it occurred to me that HE isn't really getting publicity. The investigation is, NG and SG are. There has been some profiling but the discussion has mostly been about the doorbell video and qualify of the investigation. I wonder if he's angry about that. MOO
Mary states that she knows of nothing that was taken during the raid of the house, is that normal?
Yes an experienced criminal would have predicted the significant attention to this case. And that a well known journalist can pick up the phone and call a US Senator or other gov't officials for help. That's a really excellent point. To borrow a phrase from my sister, he stomped on a hornet's nest when he took NG. Surely an experienced criminal, who specifically targeted her, would have expected a lot of attention on the case. The massive public interest. is more difficult to predict, but IF they knew who she was, they should have expected this to get more assets assigned to the case than if someone kidnapped me. MOO
ETA: MOO
Exactly. Warrant is sealed because the investigation could be at risk once it's revealed what information LE and FBI have and how they got it. MOOHowever, it is very possible if he had seen the warrant, he would be telling the world things that they are looking for right now.
Totally agreeI agree. This interview really suggests to me that he doesn’t have the swagger or the steely nerves to go through with a kidnapping.
Especially not in his own neighborhood where he could be more easily recognized.
Also, I may just be naïve, but if I were guilty there is no way I would sit for an interview.
Too many opportunities for people to study his face and compare him to Porch Guy, and too many ways for him to slip up verbally or contradict himself in the interview.

I am not talking about this fellow at all, but there have been killers who give interviews.I agree. This interview really suggests to me that he doesn’t have the swagger or the steely nerves to go through with a kidnapping.

Thank you! Very informative. And here is an archive link to that same Vulture article in case anyone can't get past the paywall:

NG was targeted. I think this perpetrator wanted this attention, but likely was surprised at the significant media attention this case received. If you don't want attention, you want to commit your crimes with people who aren't nationally known.Yes an experienced criminal would have predicted the significant attention to this case. And a well known journalist can pick up the phone and call a US Senator or other gov't officials for help.
There are other people more wealthy too. SG is Hollywood celebrity wealthy which is not billionaire level who could easily and quickly pay $6 million.
NG was targeted. I think this perpetrator wanted this attention, but likely was surprised at the significant media attention this case received. If you don't want attention, you want to commit your crimes with people who aren't nationally known.
And there are plenty of elderly single women living alone in nice neighborhoods in Tucson. Many retired there with their spouses who have predeceased them and they are living in their homes alone. MOO
I agree, NG was targeted. It is unlikely this was random. Too big of a coincidence that the victim is the mother of a well known celebrity and was featured in a TV show last year.NG was targeted. Could this description include someone who had done work for them? What does everyone make of the theory that this could have been a local person, who:
- knows the neighborhood well but doesn't necessarily live in the same estates as NG
- has met SG, AG, and NG
- is a seemingly overly social individual, but kind of a loner when out in crowds
-is also a person who lives alone
-has a steady job, but not a typical work schedule
All speculation from me.
Wow, I see it. Maybe it's a magazine in the purse. What the heck is that near LD's foot in that picture? Is that a mask of a lady or am I seeing things?
Bizarre.
It's interesting that when he was pulled over he says he thought, 'oh this must be about the Nancy Guthrie case.' Why would he think that?
