Do we know if that blood found inside the home is the same as the droplets described as being between the door and the driveway? (if I am recalling correctly from earlier in the thread)
Ive not read that anywhere, but may have missed it.

Does anybody have a link to whoever is covering tue press conference?
Or at channels, etc, that are covering it.

This info from same article posted upthread:

An official told CBS News that 88-Crime, an Arizona-based, non-profit program that works with law enforcement to help solve crimes, is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for "information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in the disappearance."

Hmm....after thinking over my comment....IF the doorbell is not hooked to the cloud and the individual that removed it, knew that it was not hooked to the cloud....that would be telling. Again, IF...
Excellent point. I wonder whether the suspect is someone who helps out with the house but doesn't have a key, is someone who worked on the house in the past (and maybe has a grudge), or is someone who worked on the outside of the house. Or if they're a relative of any of the above. If they don't have a key, but still are familiar with the house and possibly with the doorbell camera, might explain the apparent forced entry and the removal of the camera.

Just got off the phone with Nancy Guthrie’s church. They wanted to share this message about the search for Nancy and her well-being.

When Nancy missed church Sunday morning, a concerned friend called her family.

Have they announced the point of entry/exit into the house? Is it possible someone entered a side door and bypassed the Ring doorbell camera?

Sheriff stated they are NOT confirming there was blood in the home. He doesn't know where that came from. Maybe his comments were distorted or taken out of context. They did submit some DNA (didn't say what it was exactly) and it did come back as Nancy Guthrie's. They were hoping it would give them a different profile and not hers.

Agree 100% as this hits very close to home. My mom is about the same age, physically in good shape but she has “moderate” dementia. She lives in the 4-5 BR suburban house we grew up in, alone with a few cats (after burying two husbands) and refuses to leave her home. I live less than 10 minutes away and she has professionals come in a few days a week for a couple of hours to help with things, run light errands, etc. home. (Thank God for decent long-term care insurance!) We tried to buy the rancher next to our home and she still refused to leave her home.

Right now, at least as far as the general public knows, the circumstances, perpetrator(s), etc is pretty wide-open. Who was it? What was their relationship to Nancy? Why was their motive? Why/how was she removed from the home?…

Something happened to my mom almost two years ago that makes me think of Nancy’s disappearance. We had some snow and the grandson of a neighbor of my mom’s (about 1 1/2 blocks away and that we didn’t know - son or grandparents) knocked on my mom’s door and asked if she wanted him to shovel her driveway and sidewalk (for pay). She said yes, he did the work, got paid and that seemed to be the end of it. Then several months later he stopped by and offered to do some yard work (for pay). She said no because she had had the same lawn guy for several years. He walked away but came back a couple of weeks later, knocked on her door and asked for money (not for work this time). When she refused he started to argue with her, saying he and his mom were hungry and needed money. She closed/locked the door and he stood in her driveway yelling at her and accusing her of being against him, etc. She didn’t tell me about this incident for months and he hadn’t had any contact either her since so I wasn’t all that concerned.

Then several months after that someone was knocking on her door around 2 AM. She went downstairs and saw a man had opened her screened door and was trying to open the regular door. She had left the phone in the Living Room & would have to walk by the front window to get to it and he would see her so she didn’t call the police. He eventually left after being unable to get the door open.

She told me two days later and I immediately called the police. They immediately knew who it was & said he was a drug addict with a long history with the police. They couldn’t charge him with anything because of dementia made her an unreliable witness & the door handles had been touched by other people that they couldn’t get prints.

This is why we immediately installed Ring cameras and have the app set-up to alert me every time someone approaches the doors. I know it doesn’t “watch” the windows & it won’t keep someone from coming in if they are intent on doing so, but it’s something.

I can’t help but wonder if the perpetrator could be a relative of a neighbor or “help”.
I read this last night, but too tired to respond. Thanks for this. I think it's a real possibility. w/o reading every post in the thread, I wouldn't be surprised if Savannah's mom had a ring camera.

But there are people who don't want to deal with them. (I am one) I'm a neighborhood volunteer and frequently see Ring cameras that are no longer working because I think there does need to be maintenance on them and just remembering to do the maintenance is probably a headache. I think when people see nothing on them, it's easy to let the devices fall into disuse. Recently hubby found a cigarette butt in our driveway. He said, "Someone was here last night". It's amazing that he noticed this. I keep thinking about getting them, but I feel that I woud need to be compelled to look at footage all the time and also the fact that my phone would go off everytime someone was at our door.

Couple of thoughts from the recent news:
Why would LE say that if you see someone that looks like her to take a photo? Why not call 911?
Why would they say the public is not in any danger when they don't really have much info on who did this or why?
Taking a photo and calling 911 aren't mutually exclusive. I'm sure they want people to do both.

Its unclear whose blood it is, but it is being tested.
Sheriff said they are not confirming there was blood. They did take DNA samples however and it came back as Mrs Guthrie's. He said they were hoping it would be a different profile.

They're not confirming it because they need to protect the integrity of their case.

A homeowner's DNA would be found all over their house.

The ONLY source of her DNA that would raise alarm bells would be blood.

It's blood. LE's just not going to say so on the record. They hold their cards close to the chest.

In my neighborhood it's worth it to get alerts anytime someone is around. My area isn't a good part of town though.
