AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Just been trying to see how many ways in and out there are to Nancy's house and that estate is an absolute rabbit warren. SO many possible routes and in pretty much all directions. Given the layout and landscaping / screening of the houses from the road, it must be incredibly hard for them to find useful camera footage.

That said, I'm sure there won't have been all that many vehicles moving around between the hours of 1 and 4am, if they're right about that timeframe. Assuming the perp actually left the estate and isn't still in there.
That's actually great news if you think about it... Track the path to the main road and hopefully better cameras.

. . . . which makes me think someone knew the layout of the house.

she is 150 lbs. go to your local gym and see what most men can lift.
I ambulated a 150lb woman today from her bed to a wheelchair. If you have the right equipment and know what you're doing it is not difficult.

Counterpoint, a month ago I tried helping a 250lb woman from a Toyota Camry to a wheelchair. She couldn't make it so I had to call the paramedics.

And Darren Martell sexually assaulting and murdering his 82 year old neighbor Roberta Martin in Enosburgh, Vermont in 2024. He tried to burn her body in the woods. It took a few days to find her, if I remember correctly. Just awful.

THAT'S the one I was thinking of. Thank you for the correct details!!

If you are saying that Guthrie lived in a gated, secure neighborhood, others have said that it isn't gated.

Not gated

@ 12:28 sheriff is asked if anyone associated with her is missing, family, caregiver etc and he evades the question by answering all about how the family,Nancy being the mom, Samantha etc everyone's been so helpful on and on.
Then he evades answering the question is there anything more about her physical condition that you can tell us?
LE: .."I wish I could".
I think they have identified a suspect and LE and the family do not want to be asked why an 84 yr old woman who is physically disabled was in her home alone.
imo

I agree, I think they know the who and the why. US military/CIA surveillance /eyes in the sky knows ALL, it’s the best in the world. Hopefully these tools will be deployed to locate her.

IMOO. It seems it would be a planned and targeted event, based on remote location, and her mobility issues.

CIA is prohibited from spying domestically. The tools you suggest are not used to solve crimes in the USA. Have faith in local law enforcement.

the fact Nancy isn’t there means something. why take her…?
Disposing of evidence.

The body is always the primary piece of evidence when it's present. A body tells a lot. Manner of death, time of death, etc.

We've all seen the cases where the criminal believes that "no body, no crime" is an actual legal statute.

They're so dumb.

Any news of a ransom note or anything?
I was praying it would be a situation like this, based on Savannah in public eye, and possibly perceived as very wealthy.

Sheriff's department spokesman pushing back on NBC report that NG was "harmed," during the abduction:

NBC News reported late Monday that law enforcement officials believe she was harmed when taken from the home.

"We have not confirmed that," sheriff's spokesperson Anjelica Carrillo told the Arizona Daily Star. "Those reports are inaccurate" unless and until they are confirmed, she said.

This is extremely common - in alot of cases its called independence. She was capable of making her own decisions and my guess is she wanted to maintain her independence. It sounds to me like the family are very loving, caring, present, supportive and there were other supports in place.

Just because someone has a disability, regardless of age, doesn't mean they lose all capacity of taking care of themselves.

Not having a go at you, just feel this is something that is often presumed about people with disabilities and the elderly. In fact older adults who maintain independence IMO avoid the rapid decline that can be seen when their activities of daily living are prematurely overmanaged.

Presumably whoever did it knew that a large, expensive home like that would have cameras and they likely made an effort to not be ID'd through their vehicle or otherwise. Law enforcement is clearly holding info back for a reason.

This is probably a nightmare behind the scenes. This is getting national news, probably international. The victims daughter is a well known journalist/news host. These cases can trigger false confessions (yes, people do odd things like this) , people who give false leads, yes, they do this as well. Insert themselves into an investigation. This ties up resources. Then you have families that get hit with scams and extortion attempts , many coming from overseas false abductors demanding money and sending manipulated photos, or claiming they can “help” for a fee, of course away from LE. It’s so bad. I think this is why many times you don’t see public pleas from loved ones….and it usually never helps anyway. IMO

and she's not walking out of there, even under duress. seems like it does have to be 2 or more captors.
Maybe if she has a gun to her back. Has it been confirmed she didn't have her cane or walker?

Everyone keeps making the point that she is widowed. How do we know she didn't have any romantic partners over the years that might have a grudge? Plenty of widows continue to have love lives after death of a spouse.

Maybe I missed it, but I would think there would be so many ring cameras in the neighborhood (and even on Nancy's house) that would have caught photos/videos of vehicles, people, entering/exiting??? I'm also surprised that apparently no alarm was sounded (and authorities notified) when the front door was breached.
It was stated in one news report that her house has cameras, I'm sure her family checks on her all the time, so why haven't police said anything?

Poor Savanah started out covering crimes for Court TV. ☹️
I wonder if it could be someone or something she covered and a person recently was released and didn't like how their story was covered? Maybe a revenge thing?

The sheriff has talked about those cameras, but has not said what's seen on them. I guess they've determined that releasing that information wouldn't help the investigation. The less they tell us, the more they know, and vice versa.
