AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Is there any possibility that someone followed them home from the restaurant?
Fox 11 Los Angeles, at 1:07 mark states that Nancy has high blood pressure, a pacemaker and cardiac issues.

I hope they look into if there's any way to track her pacemaker or at least verify it's still active. Pacemaker technology went a long way while I was nursing, and has probably gone a long way further since. Hoping so.

also think that she was harmed while she was being dragged out of her house.
I suppose that means there must’ve been blood on scene and/or a security cam caught them hurting her.

Obviously they wanted her out of the house for a reason, and usually if you abduct someone like that you don’t want them harmed (at least in the short term) so she must’ve put up a fight (good on her)

OK Magazine is now stating: Signs of forced entry...

As long as the elderly person is of sound mind, my mom was and it’s reported Mrs Guthrie was, they have a right to make their own choices. They’ve made them their entire lives. IMO
A sound mind is one thing but a sound mind with physical/medical issues could very well determine what is the safest course to take to protect your loved one even though it's not what they want.

This is not going to end well, and I am dreading it.

I’m gonna agree to disagree. This feels like it’s getting personal.

They already have mentioned a suspicious vehicle and also think that she was harmed while she was being dragged out of her house. I do not think they are continuing to search for her in the immediate area.
I gather her being dragged out of the house is what was seen on one of her security cameras because it was reported that the family was at the house for a little over an hour before calling 911 and didn't see anything concerning?

If Savannah reported her missing (which isn't a fact just speculation on my end) then it could be a stalker/revenge/extortion kind of thing. LE was really quick to act and appear decisive in terms of course and resources, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was an unfortunate connection in this regard.

This should never override a person's wishes unless its determined they are unable to make their own decisions due to cognitive impairment or something else.

Sometimes people will make choices that involve risk but it is their life. I think its wonderful when older adults are able to stay in their own home as long as possible, why would we want to deny them that right regardless of risk?

Did someone want SG not to go to Italy?

I don't know what the net gain would be... but targeting her mother would almost certainly ground SG...

It would answer the question 'why her?'.

A conversation that many families end up having to have.

ABC15 Arizona, 3:32 mark, a retired boarder patrol agent who knows the area very well mentions the terrain which makes it difficult to search the area. Also, in the beginning of the video it is stated that the deputies have left the house a few minutes ago.

Just been trying to see how many ways in and out there are to Nancy's house and that estate is an absolute rabbit warren. SO many possible routes and in pretty much all directions. Given the layout and landscaping / screening of the houses from the road, it must be incredibly hard for them to find useful camera footage.

That said, I'm sure there won't have been all that many vehicles moving around between the hours of 1 and 4am, if they're right about that timeframe. Assuming the perp actually left the estate and isn't still in there.
So if they're saying between 1-4am then LE has nothing showing her and the suspect on security cameras in her house or exiting it.

Oh, yeah.
It was tough going at times with my dad but it all came together beautifully in the end.

I wonder if they found blood in the bed which is why the sheriff is saying she was abducted in her sleep. Could they tell the time of abduction based on the blood? Like how dry it was?

Or they possibly do, and that's the timeframe they are hoping neighbors caught a car in the neighborhood on ringcams etc. maybe they have vid of her being dragged out of the house but can't see what car was used?

Staff may be trustworthy, but they may have a friend etc who could weasel inside information out of them.

LE provided a similar window in the Tepe case, but LE had exact times that they did not share. If they have CCTV of the abduction, for instance, they don't need the perp to know that.

I'm hoping they have some solid leads.

Perhaps a ring camera across the way was activated at one and at four, and in between, her front door went from closed to open. Are there other houses close enough to catch that?
