AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

When I take an elderly person at home, part of that is making sure they're comfortable in their bed, chair, etc. I don't leave until that has been accomplished. Perhaps the same thing as "checking on her." Would be super easy for authorities to rule the SIL out if he was at his home from 1-4am.

I love and appreciate people like you who give true care to their patients. Thank you.

This is really scary, considering the area, and how many elderly single wealthy women live in the area.

When I lived in Miami, there were a lot of home invasions, and they tied them all to having had a specific business doing maintenance. Unfortunately, there were never any arrests made.

When Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped, I remember an article where the FBI had listed how many people had access to the Smarts home, it was staggering, with friends, relatives, household workers (one of which, was her kidnapper, Brian David Mitchell, who Mrs. Smart met on a street corner and offered him a job at her home!)

We are extremely careful now with who comes to our home. Making sure to use licensed businesses, or recommendations from friends.
We are also careful re: what you wrote here - it really hit me in so many ways - because it is so imperative to have recommendations of workers. We only just had a relatively new Gardener asking for rum, and wine he saw on our Bar (through the windows) - & then just show up another time in the garage peering through my living room window whilst I was relaxing on the couch - asking me for financial help after the hurricane we had in Jamaica. Thankfully I live in a very secure gated community, and we reported it to Security.

I have to say that this case had me up all night, I was and am praying hard that Mrs. Guthrie will be found alive.

That's what I'm picturing, too. If the sister & SIL/partner dropped Nancy off, the sister could've waited in the car while SIL assisted Nancy into the home and made sure she was safe & settled. So while they both were "the last to see her", he could've technically seen her a few moments/minutes longer.

I had a Temu delivery last week and my husband found the guy in our garage looking at my car and such. (The garage was open). And sometimes I leave my bag in my car if Im running in and out all day. Scary world we live in. I have had many things stolen from my house over the years by cleaning women. That was before cameras. I haven't had someone clean for years.

I work in the personal services industry and I had 2 clients in their mid to late 80s, both female, both lived alone. One was of sound mind, one had dementia. There were several people in and out of their homes each day. It may not have been safe but nobody could convince them to move to assisted living. They both ended up in hospital and passed away pretty quickly in the end.

You can’t just throw someone over your shoulder and take them to assisted living even though it makes sense.
Also, there is no reason to assume assisted living is a better option. Every case is different.

I put her address in the sex registry and searched from her house out 3-mile radius and there are 44 sex offenders. I looked at the ones closest to her house and they all have charges related to minors. Then there was one that stood out, if you put her address 5820 N Camino Escalante Tuscan, Az and filter within 3 mile radius. There is one to the far right of the circled area. He was charged with plotting to abduct a child for ransom.

In this article it says the man owned a security service at the time of his arrest. It may be absolutely nothing, but when looking at the charges of those on the registry near her, that jumped way out to me. He wanted to abduct the child for ransom.

I agree! It would not be unusual for my husband to drive someone home at night and heck even when I take my daughters friends home, I wait till I see them physically go in and close the door behind them. If I was bringing someone home with some mobility concerns, I would be certainly at the very least walk them to the door to ensure they made it inside and then see if there was anything I could help with before I left. So, this could simply mean he took her home and got her inside safe and nothing was amiss before he left. IMO

MOO, way too early to jump on the maybe it was SIL train. We can assume LE immediately checked alibis for those who are part of Nancy's inner circle, close friends, employees and family members. I am not sure what has motivated this abduction but I don't have any sense a family member is involved at this point. JMO

IMHO, we don't even know if it's Nancy's poodle or a family member's
Is the photo even dated? Is it possible the poodle has passed since the picture?

I think if the SIL drove to check on her at 2am, and she disappeared at 2am, this forum wouldn't be discussing her disappearance, it would be discussing his arrest.

I have my doubts about what this report means as well.

Nothing has been said about her having a dog, the photo of her with the dog could very well have been family members dog. Personally I don't think she has one or the Sheriff would have said her dog was left behind or she and her dog are missing. All JMO

The showbiz link quote fully says:

Sources say the last person who saw Nancy alive on Saturday night was her other daughter’s husband, her son-in-law, who checked in on her. He is absolutely not a suspect.

New info on blood found at the scene and Nancy Guthrie's Pacemaker, from a law enforcement source

The Pacemaker last synced with her Apple devices around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to the source. Her Apple watch was still on the charger. Phone left at home

As for the blood, according to the source, a light trail was seen outside. It was described as a "drip" — more like a bloody nose than substantial bleeding. The trail ended where the walkway from her door meets the driveway.

One more thing -- I'm told that the cancellation of the search and rescue does NOT mean authorities think she's deceased

The "dripping blood" could still be Nancy's....

This one is troubling me... as if the DNA is going to be the final proof.
