PS it is strange that this site posted that about the brother in law. Perhaps he got info that they are keeping from the public now until they make sure? Speculation for sure, but if he drops her off at 10 and she is taken/harmed at 2 am…just putting it all together.. And the ‘checking on her” is strange if he drops her off at 10…when would he need to check on her?
Did you read it and what do you think?

IF he checked on her around 1am or later, that would be odd.... but by now I'd think LE have a good idea where people were outside of whomever harmed Nancy ?

No poi's, no suspect, and no vehicle description yet.
Still unsure if it was an inside job aka the staff or someone known to them ?
Imo.

If NG was on blood thinners and attacked in bed, it’s very possible that she bled more then expected which startled a garden variety sexual deviant into thinking he killed her.

However, if the scene was a bloody mess, you would think that whatever child came to check on NG would see that and call the police immediately.

My gut feeling says this is similar to the Reiner’s, where a very close family member was set off for whatever reason and went after the matriarch. It seems like the police have a pretty good idea about what happened but they need to work backwards to close the case.
I am troubled by the fact that if the family went in there and saw a scene that was enough to make the police turn it into a crime scene and call in homicide, they didn't call the police within 5 minutes, instead of spending an hour searching for her on their own.

Authorities are urgently asking the public for help with any tips related to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie. As the search continues, investigators believe Guthrie was “taken from the home against her will” which could include “possible kidnapping or abduction.” Anyone with information is urged to contact the Pima County sheriff’s department at 520-351-4900. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports and Tom Winter joins TODAY with analysis.

Blood was found in the home of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie’s missing 84-year-old mom, according to a report Tuesday — with the local sheriff confirming that authorities fear “a possible kidnapping or abduction.”Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that the blood was found alongside signs of forced entry in the house in Catalina Hills, Arizona. It was not immediately confirmed whose blood it was.Nancy Guthrie, whom Savannah calls her “best friend,” was reported missing Sunday, hours after returning from dinner the night before.

Maybe we should just wait for the press conference later today. I am sure there will be more clarification then.
Or we will have more questions!! jmo

Maybe you are misunderstanding my comment.
I have not read anywhere else anything about the daughter’s husband driving her home.
The way that is worded, it is bringing in a suspect (or thats how I am reading it). So then it is curious why it is stated that he is not a suspect. This was posted last night at 7:30 PM. How would anyone know that when no one even knew about the son in law being the last to see her?

He drove her home at 10 and she was gone at 2 am.

I hope I am more clear now.
I am guessing the reporting was either correct or mistaken.... i.e., what if the sister dropped her off and the husband rode with her ?
There was mention of some late night activities (dinner and a game night ?) before Nancy was driven to her house.
I'll go and check, brb.

Just hours earlier, she had enjoyed a dinner with Annie before playing mahjong - a popular four-player tile game that Nancy had posted about on January 24.

Could have been in shock and didn’t see some of the concerning things LE did. I wonder if they contacted hospitals to see if she was brought there? Sometimes it’s hard to think clearly when you’re in a stressful and alarming situation alone, so many emotions etc. and not knowing what to do or not do. Might have been in disbelief and devastated she wasn’t there.

Snipped from above article:

Nanos initially told NBC News, “When you’re taken from your bed and you don’t want to go somewhere, that’s an abduction.” But Nanos “meant that figuratively and did not mean she was literally taken from her bed,” the sheriff’s department later clarified to NBC.

Okay, this is what I was referring to when I commented earlier that the Sheriff appears to use oblique and somewhat misleading, albeit unintentionally, language when describing some of the facts of the case.

There's a big difference between being taken literally from your bed and figuratively from your bed.
Main difference being I'm not even sure what being taken figuratively from your bed even means.

Most Sheriffs are not trained wordsmiths. I've heard some positively butcher the King's English.
This is not a criticism of LE, again, just pointing out language arts is not typically their area of expertise.

For that reason, I really am not reading anything into his use of the term "abduction."

I really do think he just means she didn't leave the home willingly/of her own volition, but was removed by others, i.e., she was "abducted."

JMO.

BBM "..Law enforcement sources say that 'blood drops' were found leading from the entryway of the house to the driveway, and a doorbell camera she owned was removed by the time investigators arrived on Sunday."
This is not good. Removing it won't destroy the history, hopefully LE is able to retrieve that from the website.

We are lucky. My husband found a gal who, after we hired her, he actually knew her father. She has been with us for over 15 years now. We are blessed, and treat her like family. She is so fantastic.
I still clean for original customers. One is 91 now. Been there since 1982. Most customers I've had at least 30+ years. You are lucky.

I am not. I would think they would search the whole house then the property outdoors in case she had fallen and couldn't get up, in the fear she was still there (wallet, phone, everything else was seemingly still there) and perhaps unconscious or otherwise unable to call out to them.

MOO when I go to my elderly relative's home and don't find them where I expect to but nothing seems obviously amiss, I look around for them, then on not finding them, call police. I don't immediately leap to well this is odd, must be a crime scene.

The blood drops allegedly found were to my understanding located outside of the home along a walkway form home to drive. Droplets, not buckets. JMO

Not sounding very good, could be one of the things LE saw that made them move concerned and maybe Annie didn’t notice it.

Yes, hindsight and all that.

It really doesn't matter if the ring camera was removed- anything it captured is in the cloud, not on that device.

I am local, Not an insider of course, and I guarantee this has been the biggest story here since Isabel Celis. A lot of people in an uproar over the coverage too, unfortunately. People throwing in politics too.

How long did the drive take for family to reach her home. If you get a call at 11am, that doesn't mean you're at the house by 11:01am. It takes time, plus time to look around the house and yard and to process that you need help.

The timing of the call for help is not troubling, imo.
