Frustrating presser. It’s clear they don’t have evidence that most of us assumed they would have (still waiting on her home surveillance footage it appears).

Definitely walking back my prediction for a quick resolution.
Which makes me fear for a bad outcome. IMO

Q (again) any ransom you sort of didn't answer that one

A. we are looking at all leads, we have a lot of leads, I know you are doing your job, but we have a job to do too, I need to back away from this for a while (is rather abruptly ending Q and A)

WOW. He sidestepped that very specific question not once but twice. Interesting. So maybe they have gotten some sort of demand or ransom but are trying to vet if it is serious or a crank.
I noticed his non-answer on this too. Every time someone asks him that question, he dodges.

So I agree that it sounds like the family or LE received a demand of some sort. You may be right that they're trying to determine of it's serious. Either that or they're trying to negotiate.

Yes, I was so hoping someone would ask about a dog/pets.

They don't seem eager to openly share details (understandable), so if this turns into a long investigation, then probably most information that comes out during it will be from "sources close to the investigation".
Maybe the dog isn't hers.

From the Press Conference:

Camera missing from front of house

Would not answer question if there was a ransom involved.

There was blood evidence found in the house

In my opinion, a lot of nothing...other than keeping her name in the media.

I found the ransom answers odd. And I find the $2500 “reward” odd too.

I also wonder if they are getting fake ransom letters and messages from every internet weirdo out there, because case is so high profile.

So apparently (speculation on my part) there is no threat to the public?

Very normal in investigations. Sadly, I doubt she is alive. I pray I am wrong.
it definitely is and i don't blame him (and certainly appreciate his effort to be engaging with the public) but i also kind of don't see the point in just getting up there and saying "can't say" to almost every question 🤷‍♀️

Not sure why this presser was necessary…
This sheriff needs a break. And a nap. And a snickers bar 😕
the Sheriff sorry to say does not inspire confidence...he just seems unhinged.

I think there IS a ransom for NG after being questioned now at the press questioning. IMO
But time is almost running out….she needs her meds. I hope she is ok.

According to her address listed in this thread, the home isn't necessarily one of convenience in terms of targeting. Smack dab in the middle of the community and not a lot of entry/escape routes. Lots of other homes in the area would seem more practical for a random crime of opportunity, even if staked in advance.

Oh, that was always a foregone conclusion in my mind. I have zero expectation she'll be found alive, and I doubt she even left that house alive.

As I see it, the outcome is guaranteed. It's just how long it takes to find the person or persons who did this, and recover her.

Also ransom notes sometimes stipulate that if you mention the ransom to the press then the person will be harmed.

IF ransom is involved, wouldn't the abductor(s) have made sure to take Nancy's meds as well?

Sad to say, but the abductors didnt think she needed her meds?

Just listened to the presser which showcased a Sheriff that is overwhelmed.
No information at all. So either they are working on a hostage/ransom situation
or they are really clueless. I hope there is more going on behind the scene.
Next presser in two days?
I think there are ransom negotiations.
ehhh.....IMO that's not a likely scenario. Yes it is possible, given SG's national celebrity but.....it feels off

Yeah I was just thinking about that. but they also usually say don't involve cops so I am not sure what to think here. Unless they didn't get the demand to family until after the police were involved. IF abducted for ransom, maybe abductor thought they had more time before Nancy would be noticed missing and so missed their demand opportunity prior to LE involvement.

unless her case is very serious, i don't see why insulin would be categorized as a 24 hour emergency. As a diabetic (albeit 44 years younger than her), i could live with a high glucose reading of 200, or 220, 250, etc. without passing away in a day. but maybe for her she possibly could given her age and/or any co-morbidities.

that is being stressed to scare the captors....if she is still alive they are not going to want a death on their hands.. From a medical standpoint BP meds, heart meds pretty standard at her age and you can miss a few doses. Also insulin per post above from diabetic above can have some missed doses.
