AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Yesterday I asked my 22 year old son and my mid 50s female friend, and neither knew who she was. Both of them live or have lived in Tucson. :) One of them I even sent her Homecoming series to back in October! (I guess they must not have watched it)
it is no doubt someone that knows Nancy G. and may have even met her daughter during the course of their work on the house? It does not take much to find out she is on major network and makes millions in that capacity.

IF Nancy is being held for ransom, what good will that do if she cannot survive without her medications? The perps know that by now. The family and authorities know that.

Wait so did Savannah get a note too??

No proof of life associated with the ransom note sent to TMZ?

If this is true about the Bitcoin, I still think Zizians or a similar type group could be involved.

I am probably wrong lol... but definitely seems like their MO, ie: elderly/older victims, possible tech savvy/online presence, seeking media attention and wanting money. I know it's not Zizians, that would be a bit nuts but this whole thing is bizarro.
not likely. no evidence IMO

I've been thinking about the crime window -- 1 to 4 am --

If this was someone familiar, it seems like there would easily be other opportunities to steal her. People she might otherwise open the door for, unaware of their evil intent.

Then it hit me, maybe 1 to 4 am, has nothing to do with NG but everything to do with the perpetrator. Maybe it's the only hours available to them, where their absence might be missed.

JMO
I also remember from the Liknes/O'Brien case in Canada - their murderer "studied" murder books and discovered 3am is perfect time to abduct someone from their home.

And he did that, took 2 adults and a child somehow out of their home when they were sleeping!! Sickening really. I guess that's when people are most asleep/vulnerable? Ugh scary.

Harvey is still a lawyer and isn't a dummy (what we may think about him personally is a different story). He knows what can and cannot be sued over.
both TMZ and DM get negative comments but often they break stories.

Also, just a thought to everyone on the ransom train - the Lindbergh baby was long dead even before the family knew where to drop the ransom.
Samantha Koenig also comes to mind…

You don't have to be particularly tech-adept to use Bitcoin and it's used by lots of criminals because it's difficult to trace. IMO, TMZ saying the Bitcoin wallet address was legitimate doesn't say much. It's very likely it is a real Bitcoin wallet, because whoever sent this ransom note clearly wants to be paid. But if we can't verify the owner, IMO, it's not particularly useful to call it legitimate at this point.

Maybe Chelen County Sheriff Mike Morrison should do the next press conference. :)

Not victim blaming here at all, but when this came to light I found her exact address in about a minute. She has been on the Today show multiple times, people, some of them crazy people, know who she is.

It was way too easy to find Savannah Guthrie's mother IMHO.

What exactly is this attachment? I'm not sure what I'm looking at. TIA
It's an internet traffic report for the search term "Nancy Guthrie" in Arizona.

this sort of "who searched this name online" search came up during the Tepe murders case. A youtuber posted that someone was searching (stalking online) Monique in the weeks before the murders. Turns out the data was flawed and there is a margin for error in calculating the date of online searches about a specific individual or topic. So yeah, I am not giving that attachment any weight.

Also I just did the same search myself (didn't screenshot, sorry) and I do not see the searches from 30 Jan. Perhaps that attachment is fake or the data has been corrected.

Thank you both. So many crazy apps now a days.

IMO, if there was a legit ransom demand, she likely isn’t being held alive and had already been harmed before the demand was sent. Has there ever been a ransom demand (in modern times) where it was confirmed that at the time of the demand, the victim was still alive?

I would say very likely fake considering the context of the adjacent post in the photo.
