I like BE but I feel kind of weird watching a journalist just walk up to the front door and the blood hasn’t even been cleaned up…

moo
Imagine how her family must feel?
Broadcast all over for clicks, I’m disturbed by him

Despite this reporting, the AP talked to a person, who was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the case and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.
In their reporting this person stated:
"The motive remains a mystery. Investigators do not believe at this point that the abduction was part of a robbery, home invasion or kidnapping-for-ransom plot, the person said."

Are there any active searches going on? Flyers being passed out with her photo? Grid searches? Anything??
IIRC they have stopped for now until more leads become available.

I do normally agree with MassGuy, and I do once again. I assumed she was dead when I first heard about the case based on the circumstances. With the time that's gone by and the lack of information, I highly doubt we're seeing a happy resolution here. I just hope it's not AS tragic and hard on the family as it could be, i.e. SA or extreme violence.

and we are no longer even mentioning her medications.....
which are desparately needed on a daily basis.

Whether ransom-related or not, I hope something happens very soon that breaks open the case, and that she is found.

(ETA: From looking at the brief video provided a few posts above on blood droplets on front walkway):

There is a flurry of drops and smudged (?) drops right there within a foot or so of the key side of the front door. The droplets further out are more spread apart.

Is this the door NG would have gone in through when delivered to her home after Saturday night dinner? Was she dropped off in the driveway? Or, was she walked all the way to the door?

Could she have been attacked right there as she put her key into the lock of her front door upon arriving home? Were her house keys found? Any blood on them?
Looking at the house it looks like it's a circular drive. Mrs Guthrie would have been visible at her front door. I would imagine the family stayed to watch her go in.

True.

Does anyone know if they have used drones when searching?

I'm checking Flightradar24 for helicopters, aircraft, etc. that may be hovering in the Catalina Foothills area.

JMVHO.
I don't remember hearing thing about drones when they first started searching. I believe they have stopped for now.

Do we know that he isn't a friend of the family or didn't ask if he could do that? Some families are OK with showing what happened in hopes any information could help (like you are looking for somone with a wound). JMO, though.

That kind of leaves:
"I'm entitled to something NG is not giving me," OR
"NG is an obstacle to my getting what I want," OR
"I'm a freak pervert who sexually assaults elderly women and I don't want to leave the evidence that leaving without her body would tell."

Doesn't it?

Lots of scrub brush out in that area. It's going to be very difficult to find her in that.
They already used dogs in the initial search. Between dogs and drones, they can more easily locate someone. Even if she has something on her like her watch, it could reflect. I don't think she is in the scrub brush close to her home. JMO

Statistically speaking, it is highly unlikely the ransom demand is legitimate. Kidnapping for ransom is very rare in the United States, and victims are overwhelmingly undocumented migrants (see here, here, and here). The very few cases of kidnapping for ransom not targeting undocumented migrants which have occurred in the US recent years tend to have very different circumstances than Guthrie's abduction:
  • Two brothers held a family at gunpoint for 9 hours and stole $8 million in crypto in 2025.
  • A group of 7 men abducted a man at gunpoint outside his home in Quincy, MA, tortured him, and extorted $4,000 from the victim and $18,000 and a Rolex from his spouse and acquaintance in February 2025. The victim was released the following morning.
  • A 75-year-old businessman from Alabama was kidnapped from his bed in 2020. He was released a few hours later after he wired his kidnappers $250,000.
MOO it is much more likely that motive in Guthrie's abduction was something other than obtaining money (either through robbery or extortion) -- possibly a sexual motive or a personal grudge (either real or imagined).

I wonder if the family didn’t notice the blood outside the door and the missing camera. If they had seen that you’d think they wouldn’t have waited so long to call police.

Not for everyone. I haven't watched network news news and network television for over 25 years, and don't miss it at all. I had never heard of her before this tragedy, and her face from the photos is not familiar either. I do hope the poor mother is found alive, and soon!

Well...we are all a mixed bag here on WS.
I haven't had cable for years either....but still know lots about Savannah Guthrie. She is really considered to be like... well like "An All-American Girl", as well as an outstanding journalist.
I would assume that not many non-Americans know her though.
Just unsure

COULD it leave:
NG called me ( a friend or family member) because she was hurt and then something worse happened because of me but I was still taking her to the hospital until she died in the car and then I panicked and left her somewhere?

Is that WAAAYYY too far out there?

I don't think this is a ransom case either.
I'm already seeing commentary about cartels being involved as well.
I still think this is a payback situation of some sort, someone connected to Nancy, acquaintance(s) of working staff. Someone who wanted something from Nancy they didn't get.
cartels, people who are here illegally, politically motivated....on and on it goes

IMO, yes. (ETA: Meaning, yes that is WAAAYY too far out there.)

It would depend on the medication. I have seen it reported that Mrs Guthrie has a pacemaker. I'm thinking it may be anticoagulants she is needing. We were told that my husband needed to take his anticoagulant at approx the same time everyday for DVT. This would also cause her to bleed more easily. If he cuts himself it's typically a lot of bleeding.
I really want her to be okay, I know that might not happen, but I’m hoping.

I’ve thought the same perp wants LE to think she’s missing in hopes they don’t find where he’s hid her. This is all so sad that poor woman she didn’t deserve this 😢🙏🏻
except she is missing....and we all know this

It has been earlier posted that the son-in-law checked on her. I can only guess that he was one of the family members that dropped her off on Saturday night. I'm sure with her mobility issues, he would walk her to the door so she didn't lose balance in the darker conditions. JMO

I agree and as horrific as it is. Show it.
