I would go in. Not necessarily tuck my mom in. I think she would have given me a funny look!! I think it is what works for each family/situation. I don't think your dropping the ball. When you think about it, sadly, there are a lot of elders who have no one. Those are the ones who have passed by themselves and are not found for days or even weeks.
I;d make sure that they GOT in and then leave. (I'm one of those oldies who enjoys my privacy and don't need to be tucked in, lol). I think Nancy feels or felt the same). jmo

TMZ should be boycotted for this. It’s a possible hoax, but who knows. I watched a 20/20 episode the other day where a guy called the police and confessed to a murder. He was making it all up. 🙄

I think that CBS report was not entirely correct, because it made it seem like TMZ retrieved the ransom note elsewhere and then reported on it. TMZ's assertion seems to be that it was (also?) sent to them.

I think whoever took her was invited in by her

While anything is certainly possible, I would find this alarming if true.

As LE indicated the crime was committed between 1 am and 4 am, I can’t conceive of someone who knows her well enough to be invited in disturbing her at that time, unless there was an emergency.

And, if it were an emergency situation for a family member or friend, surely that person would have come forth with that information.

IMO this is an extremely ominous situation and looking worse as time goes on.

Where are you, Nancy?????

I’m confused by the camera situation. I don’t understand how the cameras don’t have anything (unless they’re just not saying) because we can go back for weeks on our cheap ring cameras, it’s like $100 a year for that feature, surely they have it??? Even if it was removed, you’d see by who.
I have the ring subscription plan, but not police notification. My system keeps any activity from my devices for 5 days, then it is archived. And yes, when my device notifies me my battery is low, it always shows my face when I remove it. And for me, I need a special screwdriver to remove it from it's mount.

I AM amazed he is out there alone? No fences around this place..walk right up to the front door. Why not protect it until this is resolved? I am really confused on how this investigation is being handled. If LE is not going to put up some tape maybe the family should? These guys are operating like Mayberry RFD.
Like park a cruiser in the driveway…

Hmmm, maybe. But why is there a source of Nancy's blood, but not enough to indicate a fatal injury? What kind of accidental murder happens with blood on the doorstep and then a murder inside the house that leaves no trace?
I tend to think she wasn't killed in the house. But I was just giving a reason as to why someone might move a body elsewhere.

Then they should have contacted LE and not reported it. IMO

My ring doorbell deletes after 3 hours.
Do you set it to this? We have ring on front and back doors and we have footage for weeks all online.

Local news in Ohio is reporting of a ransom note

No visible damage that I can see.
No damage to the door. I believe that Brian Entin was showing that the Ring camera was gone.

The fact that bitcoin is evidently involved as the method of payment, and the anonymous bitcoin account was apparently verified as legitimate, and they shared the note with Savannah, suggests they are taking this very seriously as a motive for what happened.

Hmm. I drop off adults at their home, I don't go inside and tuck them in. Even elderly people. Maybe I am dropping the ball here.

My mother is 92. I drop her off at the door of the assisted living and make sure she gets through the locked door and the receptionist waves to me and I drive off.

She doesn't need to be tucked in.

It’s because I don’t pay extra for a subscription. I use it to see who is at the door. I have other security cameras that I set to keep recordings for 5 days. You can set them up to 30 days.
