it means that it is a real account. Outside of that they know nothing. And I know they have to investigate it but I hope they don't put all their stock in it.

It just occurred to me - I wonder if any lights in the bedroom were on when the family first arrived? If I get up at night, or if I hear a noise, I will turn on the lights because if it is an intruder, I want them to know that I know someone is there. If no lights were on, it might mean someone broke into the house, instead of Nancy opening the door to them. JMO

I thought the point of bitcoin is that it is practically untraceable. Truthfully though I don't know much about it.

I think that CBS report was not entirely correct, because it made it seem like TMZ retrieved the ransom note elsewhere and then reported on it. TMZ's assertion seems to be that it was (also?) sent to them.

They said it was in the form of an email. It could’ve been an email sent to them by someone knew about it and not the suspect themself

I have the ring subscription plan, but not police notification. My system keeps any activity from my devices for 5 days, then it is archived. And yes, when my device notifies me my battery is low, it always shows my face when I remove it. And for me, I need a special screwdriver to remove it from it's mount.

I wondered about that special screwdriver. It doesn't look like the camera was ripped off.

Would be very risky to kidnap a person who knows you/your voice. You can wear a disguise but hard to disguise your voice. JMO

It could be someone that she knows that has her that plans on killing her, but is trying to make it look like a kidnapping to take it off themselves

The police said there were lights on in the entryway. I don't recall if they said specifically they were on when the family arrived.

I lived blocks from where the Liknes/Obrien case happened and I keep thinking about that case here!
I see many people mention how there must be more than one perp to get an elderly woman with mobility issues out of the house, and the perp in the Liknes/OBrien case took 2 seniors and a child out to the bed of a pickup truck that was parked in the front driveway of a very tightly packed neighbourhood, literally the houses are within feet of each other.

Oh wow! I can't even imagine being that close to where that happened. That story still bugs me so much, so disturbing.

And exactly, it's astonishing how one man can abduct a child and two adults in the middle of the night and Liknes I think was a big and tall man 6'2 - 6'4 IIRC, he wasn't a small guy. NG's story seemed similar to me too

Maybe this was a grudge too. Hard to say at this point.

That is the street where her home is. Not terribly tight circles as if they have a specific point of activity to focus on, more like gentle loops in the area.
