A little google on Pacemakers. My mom had one for years ,when she passed away it was turned off.
I'm sure by now they have a close time of when she passed .

A pacemaker does not automatically stop when you die; it will continue to send electrical signals until its battery dies, which can last for several days or even years. Although the device remains active, it cannot keep a person alive or prevent death from terminal illness or heart failure.
Key Details About Pacemakers and Death:
  • Continued Operation: The device keeps pacing, but the heart muscles become too weak (acidotic) to respond to the signals.
  • Deactivation: While not required, pacemakers can be turned off by a doctor, nurse, or technician using a special magnet or programmer to allow a natural death.
  • ICDs vs. Pacemakers:While a pacemaker just paces, an Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) might deliver uncomfortable shocks at the end of life, so deactivating ICDs is common in hospice care
    .
    • Cremation Warning: If the body is being cremated, the pacemaker must be removed beforehand because the intense heat can cause it to explode.
A pacemaker is not designed to recognize death; therefore, it continues to function mechanically until it is manually turned off or the battery fails.

I would open for family, my best friend and that’s it. I wouldn’t open it up for LE and would call 911 for a crying stranger. That’s it. Even if it’s daylight. I watch too much Dateline.

Same, I definitely wouldn't open up for the cops. But I think Nancy maybe would have?

Course, we don't know she opened her door at all. We started speculating about this I think because of the blood spatter on the porch, like maybe she came to her door and was hit and then taken into a vehicle?

Going to be honest here. Not sure I would open my door for a stranger at all. I'll talk to them through the wrought iron, call who ever they need me to call, but I am NOT opening the door.
I absolutely would not open my door to a stranger - only in unique circumstances of an obviously injured child perhaps. Otherwise I’m calling someone for them or 911 for assistance. Doesn’t make anyone a bad person just unfortunate aware

The helicopter area (Skyline at the top, N. Campbell to the right.)
Topography appears to have a canyon area, from south to north. I wonder if they were looking at that.
I live about 7 miles away from Guthrie's address. Her home is in a well-off area of town with a nearby steakhouse ROLEX store, etc. There is a nearby canyon "Sabino Canyon" and recreation areas. Today in Tucson was warm and students on campus were wearing bikinis sunbathing (I saw them myself). Much warmer than other parts of the country right now. The presser I heard quoted in Lauren Mattias' video posted last night suggested search and rescue teams are working, as well as the helicopter mentioned here. Her area of town doesn't have much as far as public transit, so people would need to get around by car. Its not like the perpetrator(s) walked away on their feet.

I think the link Massguy posted stated that the local station received it on Monday (ie about 24hours after the kidnapping). The TMZ guy says they received it 'this morning mid-morning'. I think that interview was today?

So no. Perhaps they want news coverage, and they weren't getting it, as someone above stated.

I have a feeling the perp/s are getting impatient.
They want money asap and get rid of the victim.
And vanish into thin air.

Media coverage seems to put pressure on family to pay.

I might be wrong of course.
But I get this impatient vibe

You would open your door for a family member. Someone you know. Maybe for a crying stranger begging for help.

Never. We would not open our door for a stranger. We will happily call the police. Not our problem.

Years ago, someone in our town opened their door for their neighbor, she was running away from her abusive spouse. Her spouse shot him. I will never forget that. Call me cruel. But things now, forget it. We wouldn't even open our door for a child. Police would be here in a few minutes.

We don't even participate in Halloween any longer. The way things are.

Thank you for sharing this! Is the helicopter circling backyards in the neighborhood or over primarily over Nancy Guthrie's home?
It was. I believe it's moved off now.

I've been thinking about the crime window -- 1 to 4 am --

If this was someone familiar, it seems like there would easily be other opportunities to steal her. People she might otherwise open the door for, unaware of their evil intent.

Then it hit me, maybe 1 to 4 am, has nothing to do with NG but everything to do with the perpetrator. Maybe it's the only hours available to them, where their absence might be missed.

Good point. Could be one or two people that can sneak out of their house at night when everyone else is asleep. JMO

Could the devise have been connected to her wifi or mobile Hotspot and when she left the house the device was left without connection and went untraceable?

oh...i certainly get the impatient vibe as well....
which can get very dangerous.

But then...as I stated a while back....
We have not been hearing about Nancy desparate need for those drugs in a 24 hour period.
Maybe they were stretching that a bit.... but still.

I just cannot imagine how painful, stressful, and anxious this family must be feeling now.
Savannah was calling for prayers.... I know she is getting massive prayers....
But this can really test one so unbelievably....

Right! They must have had a vehicle...

And how many cars on the road between 1am and 4am?

Can we assume LE would/should have a vehicle caught on someone's camera by now?

Or are there bits of desert or something you could off-road into and stay out of sight?

(Sorry I've never been to Arizona so apologies if that's a stupid question!)

I wondered if the free transit would make it out that way. I know it's causing havoc in the rest of the city.

Bitcoin itself is untraceable in the sense that it isn’t linked personal information, but all Bitcoin transactions are permanently stored on the public blockchain and can be viewed by anyone. Owners of Bitcoin wallets can be identified depending on the specific exchange the wallet is on (many Bitcoin exchanges have adopted anti-money laundering measures such as requiring ID verification before the coins in that wallet can be moved off-platform). In 2021 the FBI actually managed to recoup $2.3 million of the $4.3 million in Bitcoin ransom Colonial Pipeline paid to hackers to stop a ransomware attack — so it isn’t entirely untraceable anymore.
Bitcoin may be very hard to trace, but I think communications with LE or with media outlets demanding a bitcoin ransom would be traceable. I mean, I guess someone could send a text or call from a burner phone, but that phone number might still be traceable. In an email from an anonymized account, the path of the email may be recoverable. I would think the chances of tracing would be increased if multiple communications were sent from the same source.

And whether this is a hoax or a real ransom demand, I hope LE can track down who's responsible. And also find Nancy Guthrie.

The linking an identity to an address is the nearly impossible task

Yes but you don't know who owns the wallet the coins were transfered to.

I am just soooo ignorant. But I have just wondered over and over again....WHY?
WHY do we need bitcoin?
My ignorance is compounded by all the horrible stories....

I’m calling 911 before I let LE in. They could be disguised as LE, anyone can wear a uniform.
