How do we know it wasnt in NGs routine to go eat, play games w her daughter? Maybe its a weekly thing. If thats the case, either someone has been watching for a while, or more likely it’s someone who knows her routine. Terrifying either way.

This is even a good option if you are being pulled over by an unmarked car or in a location that isn't safe to stop. You call 911 and tell them where you are and that you are driving to an area that is well lit or you can ask if a LEO is actually pulling you over and then 911 can radio the patrol car to let them know. We can't be too careful today.

Same, and I’ve told my adult daughter to do that too. I don’t think anyone is immune from danger. In cases where you haven’t done anything wrong people are usually willing to talk to police so your guard is already down.

My understanding was that the pacemaker unsynced from her watch and phone. Which would happen once the pacemaker would lose connection with the other devices, possibly due to distance. I dont think they said her pacemaker stopped completely
No , it woudn't have stopped ,but, the reading from it would have been different with a live person. Not a 100% sure , but, info on pacemakers says once the heart is irregular (from death) the The device keeps pacing, but the heart muscles become too weak (acidotic) to respond to the signals. Last sentence from google.

What is that psychological disorder where a person thinks someone on TV or a celebrity is sending you messages or talking to you? Could be a looney who was obsessed with Savannah.

The only believable culprit I can imagine is someone who knew Nancy slightly, maybe was connected to someone who worked for her, and was really angry and resentful at the difference in their lifestyles, etc. (Not realising that some 84 year olds would give everything to be young again.)

<snipped & BBM>
[A neighbor], a six-year resident of the community, said he did not know Guthrie well but noted that he saw her regularly. He recalled seeing her with a dog in her front yard, and he saw her several times while walking his two Papillons in the neighborhood. He said Guthrie also drove herself around.

Gardeners and other apparent workers were regularly at her home.
From what I'm gathering from FB pictures , I really don't think the dog was hers.

I wish the reward offered could be higher than $2,500.

I think this is going to be a sexually motivated homicide committed by a stranger, or a relative stranger.

In the first two examples, you'd expect to find a body.

If it is a sexually motivated crime, then the perpetrator IMHO might be of Tanner Lynn Horner's type (he was the abductor of 7-year-old Athena Strand). A weirdo, and the crime likely being of opportunistic nature.

I assume that it is a nice area, with some distance between the houses. Anyone can wander around this nice settlement.

The one from Arizona Pima news said he wanted the bitcoin by Monday if not she would be killed
That's a long window of time to wait for their ransom if they truly have her

Forced entry could simply be someone knocked, she started to open the door and thought better of it but before she could close and lock it, he overpowered her and forced the door open.
I agree. There could not outward signs of forced entry, but there could be a hole in the wall behind the door showing that they slammed it open when she opened it a little bit. Or an entryway table with damage from a forcefully swung door. The door could have also hit her in the face hard which led to the bleeding. All those scenarios would show no outward signs, but the inside would tell another story.

I also remember Thursday was deadline for money.
Okay, but what proof did they provide if any, that she is still alive now if this random note is actually tied to this crime and not just an additional crime?

From what I'm gathering from FB pictures , I really don't think the dog was hers.

maybe it belongs to one of her kids or grandkids. my family wants my grandpa to have a dog since my grandma recently passed and he has no companion, but it would be a lot for him to take care of on his own. my cousin has been considering getting a dog, so if he gets one, it would officially be "his" dog, but he'd share it with my grandpa.

also, i have a dog that i was sometimes leaving with my other grandma for weekend visits after her dog passed away, until she got another one. so maybe something like that - the guthries do seem close.

edit: phrasing

With the streets in pitch blackness, some neighbors said their cameras don't capture much more than the immediate surroundings of their home. The neighborhood gets "pretty dark" at night, Lane said.
<rsbm>
Mary Wombat, 65, who has lived in the neighborhood for 50 years, said her security camera captured a black bear near her house three times. One of the times, it was just after sunrise. For the other two, she said, the bear got close enough to trip over a light and the camera.

"This is how rural we are," Wombat said.
(multiple respectful snips for focus)

Something that's good to know about Tucson is that it's all kind of like this, to varying degrees. Even in the middle of the city you get coyotes and javelina wandering through yards, and mountain lions aren't unheard of in the outskirts of the metro area. One mountain lion actually showed up at a medical center in town a year or two ago. The mountains north of town (the Catalina mountains) are tall and forested, and bears live there on the "sky islands." While Mrs. Guthrie's neighborhood is fairly rural, it's still a suburban neighborhood and one of the more upscale parts of town, with a Crate & Barrel and Lululemon nearby.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but IMO, the darkness at night means that it would be harder to see details of any cars, but easier to notice the presence of car headlights, because there's no other light. So I would be pretty surprised if they didn't find anything on neighbors' cameras showing a time when someone was driving through the neighborhood that morning (if they did indeed drive).

Agree and I could see her opening the door for a stranger too if they acted like they needed help. She was born in the 40’s and things were a lot different back then I really hope for a miracle here

Agree completely, especially a woman or child in distress.

I once knew a really nice middleaged church lady, married mother of three, who (when she wasn't on her medication) heard a man speaking to her from the radio.

Is there like a max reward then can offer? 2500 seems incredibly low given the situation
