Does anyone think this could be related to SG covering the Olympics, the national coverage and sometimes controversy when the world's current events are a little rocky? This is not political whatsoever. If I recall correctly, there have been protests etc at previous Olympics.
In my opinion I really don't think it's related to the upcoming games but just curious if anyone else was brainstorming and had similar thoughts

How big of a part was she going to play, or I guess how visible? Was she going to be there the whole time? If she was opening night was it just her, or was she co-anchoring with someone else? I think this theory is possible because the timing IS rather curious but it might depend on how involved she was going to be.

I’m also not entirely sure what the thinking would be for targeting mom. For some kind of protest or political message I would think they would rather just go after SG and not her family, or do something to sabotage the opening ceremony. Abducting her mother wouldn’t make much sense to me for that. But I guess you never know.

Have they said yet who is going to fill in for her?

I know people use "ring" as a generic term. But if it's true that you can't access videos without paying monthly, I'm not sure why people still use ring. My Eufy goes back months with no monthly payment. I'm not sure about Google Nest that you mentioned. Hopefully, the one she used kept video- whether through a monthly subscription or one that keeps it without making you pay.

The area is now full of media. When I drove by yesterday there were two vehicles in front of her house. It was reported early on by a local reporter that the wires to the security camera were cut at approximately 12:50 AM on Sunday. Her pacemaker which synced to her phone and apple watch (similar to hearing aids) stopped communicating around 2:00 AM Sunday. Today BE was live and the home had been released and no longer a crime scene, there is a missing camera from the front door and PCS stated it was gone before they arrived. The helicopters were active here up until about 4 hours ago, but I have not seen one in a few hours. Send good thoughts.

Very smart, never open the door to strangers in the evenings. It's well known criminals use a crying woman to make you open the door and then jump on you, rob you, etc. Persons known to you would call you to tell you they are coming over in case of emergency or whatever.
Never open the door at night people!

She's lived in the area for decades, probably since her kids were actually kids. These friends could be neighbours or church friends she has known for many years that Nancy's children also counted as friends.

I honestly have no clue. I didn't realize she was even scheduled to go until this case. I've never perceived SG as a controversial person but I also don't really keep up with famous people. I just keep trying to figure out why NG and if it's any way connected to SG's fame

thanks for that info! So, it's possible the camera was removed before they even went into the house IMO

I have done a quick search and I'm reading that even with the camera being removed, it's possible the server would still delete the footage. So basically, 8 hours later, the footage would be deleted. Maybe that is what they are trying to recover. Kinda like a deleted file on a computer or phone is never truly deleted. I hope so.

It looked like drops of blood to me, not angled since they appeared to be mostly round. As if it dripped from a cut hand or something like that, I did not see anything that looked like spray, but the video was not very clear.

Yeah, they're gravitational. Circular drips, not cast-off or high velocity, which tend to be much smaller and angular rather than round.

I think I heard he lives in the northeastern US … I think Vermont? I can’t honestly remember where I heard or read it, but I know he is not local to Tucson.

I looked at Savannah’s Instagram, and under who Savannah is following you can find Cameron Guthrie. It is a public profile you can view.

Cameron has not posted for a long while (just over 2 years), but it appears that he travels frequently (or at least he did back when he posted more frequently).

I have not seen or heard a statement/any comment from him either.

My dad lives in a small town near my sister. So most people who know him also know her. I have young adult children and their close friends have my number and vice versa. It's mainly for "just in case of emergency". But my son is type 1 diabetic so it's been a standing rule to exchange numbers when he's with friends. Everyone does things differently though

I find it a little interesting that police don’t want the specific information in the letter to be shared publicly. I get not wanting more/copycat letters but if the specific info they mentioned isn’t true or relevant, why guard it?

I don’t know, I’m kind of starting to think it may actually not be a hoax. Or maybe that’s just a standard thing for police to say. Honestly I don’t know what to think. This case isn’t like any I can think of recently.

I think the fact that the note hasn’t been called a hoax already is a good indication at least the info provided is legitimate. Why allow the ransom note story 12 hours of coverage if the info is wrong. Is there a benefit to not discrediting it?

If they were smart they would do it this way. But something tells me these people aren’t really sophisticated criminals with much experience.

I only feel this due to them physically taking the ring camera. As if the video wouldn’t record and upload to the cloud within the app while they are removing it. Smart criminals would disguise themselves and not worry about wasting time with removing the ring camera. Even if they had her delete the video, I feel that LEA could still retrieve it somehow.

I don’t really think it’s related but the Today show is usually at the Olympics and broadcasts from there doing athlete stories and interviews from the medalists the night before. So they’re there a fairly long time and pretty involved in broadcasting there.

Bingo. In addition, the drops of blood stop outside the front door by the driveway. Possibly ensuring the car was not in view of the camera. NG had limited mobility so if for any reason she was not able to walk at all, she may have been carried out the front door with the fastest access to transportation. It has not been revealed where the forced entry was, but the security door did not look damaged.

So i have all my neighbors phone numbers and some of their kids numbers and they have mine and my D's phone number since she live 3000 miles away and I could be dead for weeks if people weren't making sure to look for me every couple of days. I also look for them every couple of days.

So not odd at all to me. Just depends on where you live, what your situation is and what your neighbors are like, imo.
