How big of a part was she going to play, or I guess how visible? Was she going to be there the whole time? If she was opening night was it just her, or was she co-anchoring with someone else? I think this theory is possible because the timing IS rather curious but it might depend on how involved she was going to be.

I’m also not entirely sure what the thinking would be for targeting mom. For some kind of protest or political message I would think they would rather just go after SG and not her family, or do something to sabotage the opening ceremony. Abducting her mother wouldn’t make much sense to me for that. But I guess you never know.

Have they said yet who is going to fill in for her?

I would think laying on the ground would cause some if not most of the bigger droplets to smear but it may indicate her face being pointed to and perhaps near the ground

Yeah, that looks like blood from a cough or a sneeze, very close, as in, lying there. If someone was even a foot away, it would be over a much larger area. That it's that closely grouped means their face was right there.

And they should be able to tell if it was that rather than blood from a high impact, because if it came from the mouth or nose it would have saliva and/or mucus mixed in.

The sheriff says the note was sent to a local Arizona news station, which agreed not to report on it, following the disappearance of "Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie.

He said the FBI reviewed the note and made the decision to share it with Savannah Guthrie.

They are probably trying to determine if the note is legit/ from the actual kidnappers so they shared it with Savannah and Annie to gain more clarity. Also it would be up to Savannah if she chooses to pay the kidnapping ransom on the off chance that her mother is still alive and will be set free if ransom is paid. Detectives know she has the means to pay though they may try hard to dissuade her from doing so.

It would be unethical to keep the note from Savannah if they think it could be legit.

I think Nancy was taken to Mexico - injured but alive- and that her kidnapping is cartel related.
The wording with the Thursday/ Monday business for paying or killing Nancy sounds to me a lot like what someone from a country with a large number of kidnappings (Mexico/ Venezuela) would say. This isn’t their first rodeo. They could also be moving Nancy around to various remote houses in Mexico if she is alive.

I really want to believe that Nancy is alive and will be retrieved alive.

Yesterday I was convinced this was a perverted deviant who attacked Nancy but today I think this was a targeted kidnapping to extort money from Savannah (who they know has deep pockets.) I’m not fully convinced that this was an inside job- could just be someone that found out Nancy lived in Tucson and did some snooping.
After all, a lot of private information was shared on several occasions on a major TV network with millions of viewers. Somebody could have seen this and started spinning their wheels.

In any case, I’m praying for an Elizabeth Smart miracle for Nancy.
She’s tough and mentally strong and will fight to stay alive imho.

What’s usually the clause in life insurance policies for disappearances? I think suicides aren’t paid out if I recall correctly but is there some kind of waiting period if the person just disappears?

I don't think it's political. I don't think this had anything to do with SG covering the Olympics.

I think it was committed by at least one, and probably two, people who had worked around the premises. I believe they knew who SG was and thought they could extort money from her by kidnapping her mother.

I'd be looking at any and all contractors and employees who worked for her, especially contractors who recently performed short-term work, like redoing a chimney, redoing a water heater, temporary landscaping and needing to work inside the home.

Just my musings.

I trust Brian Entin because he has always been pretty thorough. This is blowing my mind because I felt suspicious of the way the Investigator said " He is ABSOLUTELY not a suspect." I felt that was off somehow.

And one of the only motives that made sense to me was a possible family member wanting an inheritance.

I’ve had a feeling person is close to mother or adult kids. Maybe because the Ohio case with the dentist and wife is so recent, but if not current so ex or person hired. I think the family members will be talking with LEO and be filling in gaps that are not made public. I hate that anyone tries to monetize from this horrific tragedy. JMO

I have been trying to think what is the item she WASN'T wearing that was mentioned in the note. I know watch has been thrown around, but I don't know. Is there something else that would be very obvious to those who knew her that she wasn't wearing? It couldn't be a specific piece of jewellery unless they knew her well and she usually wore it. Family might be able to confirm this.

Also, her pacemaker was synchronized with Apple, they say. Could it be Apple watch? Did they leave it behind?.

If so, it might be a better thought over plan than I thought.

"Proof of life". The relatives said that Nancy Guthrie was on the medication that she needed to take daily. With the pacemaker, I'd hazard, it could be a blood thinner. Might be something else, but blood in the house also might point at Nancy being on an anticoagulant.

So, depending on coagulation status and sheer luck, missing one day may be fatal or a person could stay off it for a week.

If they left an Apple watch at home and it was synchronized with the pacemaker, maybe this is all that they said.

They didn't want anyone to get "proof of life" from the devices when they were abducting Nancy. In fact, the whole ransom note is based on no one being able to check Nancy's status.

So. My dad had afib and a pacemaker. It was an old model, put in years ago, not synchronizable with anything but a very good one. All I know about the devices is just from this, and similar, experiences. I am not a cardiologist nor a nurse that sees these things daily.

But: these people seem to have understood the risk they were taking.

What does it tell us:

They have some experience with pacemakers. They are not some unhoused vagabonds, they probably understand the principle of synchronizing with the Apple watch, or can figure it out fast. They saw it somewhere. Either they are in a medical field, or a relative has a similar device. Or a YouTube video.

They probably knew that Nancy had a pacemaker and was on meds? Perhaps? Likely?

Now the sheriff said something about the camera across the street being out of order? So, they were prepared.

Just my wild guess - they probably demanded a very high ransom but... not insurmountable for the family.

They have a viable cryptocurrency account.

Now about an anticoagulant. Nancy is an old woman, probably, on Medicaire but with her daughter being an earner, can afford something better than Coumadine. Such as Xarelto or Eliquis.

(What she takes makes a difference. I am not explaining why here.)

They are in a horrible rush, because they abducted an old woman who is physically fragile. Hence, ransom notes to TMZ and the police.

So I think that they somehow know Nancy, maybe not close but are aware of her issues and understand these things.

They are probably not kids but young enough to deal with cameras, cryptocurrency. Sturdy as to carry a person of her height/weight out takes some strength.

Either their relative knows Nancy but not close or they have an older relative with similar issues.

What comes to my mind... you know, the pharmacies offer delivery of meds to the house? Uber or Lyft?

Could Nancy, living alone and at 84, use a local pharmacy and have meds delivered to her house?

I don't think the case is political. I don't think it is sexual. I think it is for ransom, that the person perfectly well knows who she is and the family's situation but is not someone on their radar.

I'd check the medical aspects. Who was aware and understood the nature of her problems.

I don't know if it is late or not. But I think they can be figured out.

at first i was thinking this was done by someone who would want to inherit.. but reading the poems by SIL, i wonder if it was maybe also emotion driven? it can probably hard at times to be the sister of someone so successful, savannah and her mom seemed so close and like best friends, what if savannah’s sister felt like she was never enough in comparison or not treated in the same way? what if the son in law held a grudge?

just speculating here of course, and not trying to blame nancy in anyway. it just struck me that this kind of family dynamics could be complicated

Brian Entins video, I paused, slowed, rewound it so many times. No mention of the glass by the doormat, but it clearly seemed to be glass. But no apparent broken window pane. Then when Banfield said they SMASHED the Nest cameras, I saw that is exactly where that glass is. I wouldn't have expected that much glass from a door camera, but I don't know. It certainly looks like tempered glass shards and it is in that exact spot of the ground.

I just find it odd that someone who would rip a Ring camera off the wall would also be someone who would request 1 million in bitcoin. These two things are at opposite ends of the techie spectrum. Nearly everything about this case is irrational and makes zero sense. I really think whoever did this is crazy and not of sound mind or drug addled but because I think they're crazy and not of sound mind that leaves hope that she is still alive. A normal criminal would've taken her to atm made her withdraw money etc. these are motives that one can understand. I think the ransom if it was even done by the same person is just a ruse not expected to be paid but just another chapter that they think makes sense but to everyone else is insane and just increasing the odds they are captured. I pray whoever has done this is crazy enough to still have her and she is alive. I think he just might be.

Who went to the house after the church person advised that NG was not at church? AG? AG and TC? People have been noting the gap between when family was notified and when the family called LE. I don't know how long they were actually at the house before they called 911. JMO.
