I’m sure a cushy jail will be tough compared to one of her multimillion dollar homes but it’s 14 days she will survive. She isn’t being sentenced to death, getting LWOP or being sent to Syria.

A Former Convict Explains What Felicity Huffman Could Face in Prison: 'It Can Be Humiliating'

Seriously. It is TWO WEEKS in a federal prison. This is hardly a "gulag". Mostly, they would put her in an assessment unit. 2 weeks is literally NOTHING! OMG! She won't be able to get a manicure, go to yoga, or get a pumpkin spice latte for TWO WEEKS! Oh, the horror!

Agree completely. AFAIK, inmates entering correctional systems are in some sort of Reception & Diagnostic unit for months before moving to a facility. I expect this is where Huffman will be held for her 14 days.

And watched more carefully than most, as she will indeed be a high-profile inmate.

JMHO YMMV

The next court date for Loughlin and Giannulli is scheduled for this Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 2:15 p.m. ET. The appearance will be for a status conference. “Defendant is not required to attend,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.

Loughlin’s defense team will be required to attend the status conference. Defendants aren’t required to attend these conferences, which are pre-trial meetings between attorneys and a judge. Usually, these meetings allow the attorneys to lay out progress on their case and set a timeline for what’s going on.

Lori Loughlin’s next court date is this week. Here’s why she (probably) won’t be there

Manhattan hedge funder worth $7.3bn spent $37MILLION over seven years in annual 'gifts' of $1m to Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Stanford, Yale, Columbia and MIT to 'help his three kids get into a top school'

Billionaire spent $37MILLION over six years to ensure his kids got into a top school | Daily Mail Online

I bet this is a common occurrence among the super rich.

From the link:

"Rebecca and Adam did very well at the notoriously demanding Horace Mann, according to ProPublica.

They were both finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, a competition in which high school students are recognized for their grades, extracurricular activities and achievements, awards, and leadership positions."

..............................................

I find it sad their own father was not confident in his children's academic talents and accomplishments to get into the best universities in the nation that he had to pay millions to the Ivy League schools mentioned in the article.

I have to laugh at the derision of spending money on public education. The mantra is that there is so much money wasted at public education.

For the super rich, money is a never ending gift

These are/were stellar students. To be the top of the class at Horace Mann is a pretty big deal. Unfortunately, the incredible sustained hard work coupled with a great educational opportunity is now sullied by a parent who is unable to trust his children's ability to gain admittance by their own accomplishments.

Even if his kids had gone to a non-ivy top school, they would have been fine. Their parents have lots of money and connections to help them out.

Just gross. I hope the money was donated to help with the scholarship funds needed for other non-wealthy students.

Lori Loughlin Pitching Tell-All Amid College Scandal

“She’s talking to agents about turning her prison experience into a cash-grabbing book and movie,” one insider said. “They’ve assured her it will make millions.”

The insider said the diary will cover every aspect of prison life and show what it’s like behind bars for a fallen Hollywood star.

If this is true, unbelievable how utterly clueless this woman is.
This will really look good for the jury, this "special" entitled woman taking further advantage by making more millions from her incarceration ? wow

High-powered Greenwich (Connecticut) lawyer Gordon Caplan will be sentenced in federal court in Boston tomorrow for paying $75,000 to improve his daughter’s score on a college admissions test.

The Greenwich lawyer apologized in a statement released April 8, the day he announced he will plead guilty. His daughter, now a high-school senior, had no idea that he made arrangements to have her ACT test fixed, he said. She was devastated when she learned, he said.

Five things to know about Gordon Caplan’s sentencing

According to the list, his sentencing is schedule for tomorrow, October 3rd, at 2:30pm in front of Judge Talwani.

I feel like the operative phrase is, "If this is true".

I doubt very much it is, and suspect it was made up by the original publication source/insider to sell magazines.

Especially since it's already phrased as if she's been sentenced, lol.

That was quick!

Attorney who paid $75,000 to rig daughter's ACT exam sentenced to 1 month in admissions scandal

Already disbarred and removed from his prestigious law firm, Gordon Caplan on Thursday received a final rebuke from the legal system he once sat atop when he was sentenced to one month in prison for conspiring to rig his daughter’s college entrance exams.

Caplan, 53, was ordered incarcerated by U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani over the objections of his attorneys, who had argued Caplan was so disgraced, his career so ruined and his family so wounded by his misdeeds that prison wasn’t necessary.

Talwani disagreed.

Still, the judge came down on Caplan lighter than prosecutors had wanted. They had requested eight months, pointing to Caplan’s admission in a wiretapped phone call that he “wasn’t worried about the moral issue” of cheating. They also noted how he hired a lawyer to threaten the ACT with legal action when he feared the scam was unraveling, and that a “fixation on saving his own skin” pervaded nearly every recorded conversation he had with Singer.

“That a lawyer who has reached the apex of his profession could engage in such blatant criminality reveals a staggering disdain for the law,” Eric Rosen, an assistant U.S. attorney, wrote in a sentencing memorandum.

Caplan must also pay a $50,000 fine and perform 250 hours of community service, Talwani ruled
