Wells was sentenced to 10 years to 13 years in prison. His conviction also includes baby-sitting for a child while being a sex offender. His attorney, Cindy Letorney, asked that Wells be kept separate from Addison’s biological father who is also incarcerated at Central Prison in Raleigh.

Oh please let someone "accidentally" put him in the same common area with this poor baby's father. If ever a case cried out for some jailhouse justice, it's this one! :furious:

from above link - Neighbors told prosecutors that Wells beat Addison. And as she got sick, her cries weren’t met with medicine and affection, according to Ham-lin.

“Instead of being consoled, she would be spanked and punished,” Hamlin said.

Much of Hamlin’s account of the child’s death came not only from neighbors but from Lanham and Wells.

why did no one call authorities about her being whipped?

The prosecuting attorney had excuses. He didn't think he could get a conviction. He had two people willing to testify each against the other. And he didn't think he could get a stronger conviction against either one of them? How about stacking the convictions? Neglect, abuse, other charges added on.

I initially thought that but (even though I don't know what her father is in for) then I thought about it would only cause him to serve more time. As a tribute to his little girl, I'd like to see him do something with his life.

I know there are a few others from Addison's original thread who are going to be just as devastated by this.

I sit here wanting to say some really horrific things. I know others will feel the same way and that just makes it even harder.

Then I remember some very good things I have from Addison's horrific case. I will post those instead of the horrible thoughts I am having.
