I take the Ten for my diamond comment to mean she wants them to put in 100% effort for her daughter.

I take pull rank to mean that she will go over LE heads to find her daughter.

I hope they find her safe and sound!

The FBI is already involved, who else can she go to ?

If she is a true gang member and she knew (or even thought she knew) who took her daughter she would not be sending messages through the news. It would be taken care of already. Or people would be popping up dead all over the place. Especially if she has rank.

In her mind who knows. A grieving mother probably thinks she will take matters into her own hands. She's not thinking clearly.

Now the photo is release hopefully someone in the community will know this person.

She may not be a resident or live in the neighborhood. I feel sure LE/FBI would be asking folks in the complex and surrounding area.

Police looking for woman who may know about abduction of 3-year-old child in Greensboro Amber Alert

Police ask anyone who sees this woman and anyone who saw something suspicious on the 2400 block of Phillips Avenue between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday to call police at (336) 574-4035.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is helping Greensboro police and the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.

Edited to add... New photos
she has to be more than 24 inches tall. She's standing by a cinder block wall. I counted 5 blocks, they are 8 inches high, so she is at least 40 inch tall.

I'm glad you mentioned that new photo, I was just looking at that and calculating her height. :)

The family is either guessing or going off old medical records. Will message GSO ( Greensboro) LE.

Just called tip line, they will look at photo and may update the height.

We'll see...

I'm going with guessing. That and probably being stressed out and trying to respond when things were probably happening quickly resulted in possibly inaccurate information being provided. IMO.

Does anyone know what the heck "I want my ten for my diamond" is slang for?

The mother says it twice in this video
RAW | Amber Alert Issued: Mother of 3-Year-Old Pleads for Daughter's Return, Describes Abductor

The few things that in my opinion it could mean are absolutely not good. :(

I haven't watched the video or read all through the thread, but I would interpret it as she wants her ten (minutes of tv time) for her diamond (her precious child) to get publicity and draw attention to the importance of the need for people to be aware. That she wants to stand in front of the tv cameras and talk to reporters rather than the opposite. We do sometimes see criticism of parents of missing children who don't go on camera to plea for their child's safety?

I don't know if that fits the context?

Thanks for posting. The mother is perfectly understandable, except for the comments about "my blood" which she cuts off, and as noted "I want my ten for my diamond for everyone involved" which she says twice. The "for everyone involved" followed the second utterance.

I have to go with others here that she slips into a private street or gang lingo.

Urban dictionary: ten
n., Casual reference to any ten millimetre automatic pistol.
"Got my ten in my hand / and a gleam in my eye."

A callout to her associates, a threat to whoever stole her child/diamond?

Are any of you familiar with the "fifteen minutes of fame" concept?

Sometimes that gets changed to 'ten', and people, when they're fed up of someone being in the public eye too much, they will say something like "You've had your ten! You can go away now!"

From my recollection, the second time it was said was after bio mom told the reporter that some people had advised her not to talk to a reporter, but she was 'pulling rank' (choosing to overrule their advice) and get 'her ten for her daughter'. She added some other things on, I think, that she wanted the 'ten' for.

I think a transcript would be handy so that we have the exact words she used instead of forgetting bits or paraphrasing.
