Her tattoos suggest a lifestyle to me. One that might involve secrecy. Perhaps she left voluntarily to begin a new, immersive, lifestyle?

Just thinking out loud, but I'd want to explore that angle a little. Maybe that is why LE don't suspect foul play?

So hard to tell. Or maybe something went wrong, something got taken too far, an accident and a cover up?

I tried to google her name to see if there is any new information. I came up empty. I don't really buy the left with a trucker theory.

Visitors to the Halifax County Courthouse on Ferrell Lane have a new reminder of the county’s missing. The Halifax County Missing Persons organized the planting of what she called a “remembrance tree” in front of the courthouse, which means every vehicle that passes to the structure will have to pass the tree.

Bridgeman podcast gets new stage, new intel

The show goes on.

Such is the latest directive for “Last Known Address,” a Daily Herald podcast dedicated to the vanishing of Roanoke Rapids resident Amy Wells Bridgeman, who disappeared from the Valley more than seven years ago.

The serial, which drew critical praise from the N.C. Press Association in February, will be distributed to a national audience via iTunes and Spotify in January, featuring a bonus episode — the result of new information unearthed by the Herald earlier this year.

Snip

Per the missing persons report filed with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Mrs. Bridgeman was seen by her husband, James, at 4:30 a.m. on June 24, 2013, in the front yard of 1409 Elm Street in South Weldon, N.C. — an area dubbed “The End of the World,” or “The World’s End,” by some locals.

After speaking with his wife, James left the residence, only to hear from her again at around 6:30 a.m., when she called to request a small sum of money.

“She asked for $10 and I told her no, I didn’t have $10 to spend over there,” James recalled during an email exchange with the Herald in August 2019. “Sadly, that would be the last time I heard her voice.”

To date, Amy’s whereabouts remain unknown.
