"A man has been charged with murder after he was stopped for speeding and police discovered a body in the trunk of his car.

Lance Gordon, 32, was stopped by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in Edgecombe County just before 4pm on Friday.

He was driving a car owned by his alleged victim, Angela Lee, 47. When asked by police, he claimed to be an acquaintance of Lee. "

"Gordon was taken into custody and police attempted to make contact with Lee to ask her about the car. They were unable to reach her on Friday night or Saturday and began fearing for her safety."

"Officers obtained a search warrant for her Holly Springs home as well as her car which was still in Edgecombe County.

It was then that investigators discovered Lee's remains in the trunk of her vehicle, wral.com reported.

Gordon has been charged with first degree murder as well as theft of the car."

i’ll be interested to see the backstory on this one. I’m glad he got caught before he got rid of the body and while he was driving her car!

I hope that with this arrest law-enforcement got a really bad guy off of the streets. I think that someone who would do a thing like this has probably done lots of criminal things before without being held accountable.

Honestly, I'm thinking LE should ask to open trunks of cars they stop - I still remember Jayme Closs being in that trunk.
