While multiple items have been taken from several sites of interest, no human remains have been found yet, authorities said.

The attorney, David Teddy, says Dedmon had nothing to do with girls disappearance. Teddy expects the search warrants to be released next week and those could reveal someone responsible.

“I think there will also be information in that search warrant that will sadly link a person to the circumstances of Asha’s disappearance that is no longer living,” said Teddy

The vehicle towed on Wednesday drew particular interest due to its resemblance to a vehicle wanted in connection with Degree’s disappearance. Authorities believe Degree got into a 1970s-era green vehicle on the night she went missing.

In 2016, the FBI said they were looking for a 1970s-era green Ford Thunderbird or Lincoln Mark IV. The vehicle taken Wednesday from the Cleveland County property was not an exact match for those cars but did resemble them

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. —
The search warrants executed by the FBI and Cleveland County Sheriff's Office this week were related to the disappearance of 9-year-old Asha Degree, investigators confirmed on Friday to WCNC.

Sheriff Alan Norman said the warrants were obtained based on physical evidence directly connected to Degree's disappearance. Degree vanished on Feb. 14, 2000.

Norman said no human remains were recovered at any of the properties searched.

"Multiple items of interest were taken from the sites and will be analyzed," Norman said. "It is important to dispel rumors circulating about the investigation."

So the FBI started this with help of local police They had some lead that let them to the properties. Apparently they got upset with false claims of a body being found. As you can see that is not true. We just have to wait and see what they tell us in the coming weeks. Hopefully the items they are testing give them a further lead.

I've been obsessively checking this thread hoping for more updates. Her case has been on the FBI website as long as I can remember and it's starting to feel like we might be close to justice and closure. Does anyone know if they gave a date for the warrants to be unsealed? Or was it just the "next week" statement from the lawyer?

I keep wondering about who this little girl is and why Asha had her picture. I wonder if she is another victim of whoever harmed Asha. I wonder if the shirt belonged to the girl in the picture and was put in Asha's backpack either by mistake or as a taunt to whomever evidentially found the backpack. Whoever buried the backpack took care to protect it from the elements by enclosing it in plastic. Maybe, the other little girl was never reported as missing. I hope the shirt is being tested for contact DNA.

My point is still valid. The picture was found in a location with items belonging to Asha. Apparently, investigators found it important as they shared it in relation to Asha's case and were trying to identify her. It is still possible that Asha wasn't the perps only victim. I'd like to know if LE has tried to get touch DNA from the picture or the shirt.

Absolutely LE is still trying to identify this girl to determine if there is a connection or link to the crime, but it's very important to note that Asha did not have her photo. There may be a link, but there is certinly no direct link to Asha at this point in time.

They searched 8 locations, all of which have ties to Roy and Connie. They are listed as suspects multiple times.

Oh no, my heart aches thinking that the two young girls could be involved in this presumed crime. I am so glad that LE is still working this case, Asha has been on my mind. Justice for Asha and her family
